  1. Mindful of the fact I never thought naismith would be the player he is I will try and give the lad a chance, however.

    Pace:- none existent. One paced.

Control:- wow, not good at all

Heading:- seems he's never had to jump and therefore can't.

He looks so off the pace it's a little worrying. Hoping for a rapid and huge improvement.

    Nailed.

  2. He's not worth anything near £15m at the moment. Blimey, I wish I was a 6ft 3 unit.

Let's get it right, Chelsea took a gamble on him at the fee they paid out. It hasnt worked. He's not the only option we have. They need to take a loss on him, he's on a good wage, and the overall package has cost them a lot.

So you think Chelsea are going to let him go for less than £12m (that's what they paid). If other clubs get a sniff of anything like that price tag we won't be the only clubs bidding. It's going to be £15m minimum.

  3. Until last year we were famous for starting slowly and finishing well (04/05 aside) so the same thing doesn't happen every year.....if it happens this year it'll be the second time.

Not talking about fast/slow starts I'm talking about final league standings. We're always just not good enough to sustain a proper challenge. We've done it once (top4) with a pretty average side through a bit of luck and a hardworking side. Other than that we just fall short.

  4. You really pick and choose, don't you? It's been mentioned a couple of times already that WE HAVE A GAME IN HAND. The only reason we are 8 points out of fourth, and not 5 points out, is because our game was postponed.

I'd suggest that's why others suggested you have an agenda - because you're painting everything so negatively.

I'm not painting anything negatively. It's facts we're 8 points a drift. Yes we have a game in hand but to presume its a guaranteed 3 points is very naive. Nothing is certain.

Even if we take 3 points from the palace game there will still be a 5 point deficit to reduce. It's looking negative to be fair. Frustrating more than anything.

In my opinion finishing outside the top 4 will be a massive disappointment considering our points tally at the turn of the year. On current form we will continue to fall away.

It's ok trying to remain positive but the same thing happens every season. It's the nearly boys, just not quiet good enough. Everton remain the best of the rest.

  5. Because he has been in the Premiership 2 seasons and I have showed you the comparitive records of other top strikers in the league. A striker that averages a goal every other game is worth his weight in gold because only the best are able to consistently score at that rate. You're basing it on nothing, because there is simply no basis for the claims you are making.[\b]

Did you even look back at any of his goals/assists over the last two seasons... Obviously not because you can see his involvement in the moves.

The point regarding league standings compared to this year and last year is extremely relevant if you are looking to compare season to season.

The two bits in bold are spot on!

The basis is on this season. For us which is all that matters. His record is not as impressive as you're trying to make out. No matter how you try to polish it up with his previous seasons return. You are putting him on par with Suarez, Sturridge etc. he's not even close to their standard at present.

His goals ratio this season is under 2:1 so therefore he is not a 1 in 2 striker. He's been on 9 goals for about 2 months.

  6. Pah. I'll just be a passive reader of this topic now. Nothing else I can say. Its one of those that will go around in circles.

Although I have to admit that there are 2 types of people I cant help but allow to get right up my Anfield...arrogant and negative. I reallt do need to learn......

If you're happy with a 6th place finish great. It's called stagnation and I crave more.
