  1. So say between now and the end of the season Lukaku scores a few, nothing outrageous but he contributes to us getting CL football next season. Would we definately go for him?

For me it's all about price and as I said in my earlier post, we have no business in an auction. But otherwise I think it would be a thanks but no thanks, you go and chase your dream, we'll live it :)

  2. i wonder what mourinho thinks about lukaku now. before the season he gave him a chance and he blew it in the shootout. but then he played well for us scoring 9 goals, but now he's in a drought and still running his mouth. i can't see mou enjoying this type of player, he doesn't seem to like the outspoken players that much (ronaldo).

Rom specifically asked to go out on loan and I don't think mourinho would entirely base his decision on a missed penalty. Mourinho is making a regular point talking up the project and evolution of the team against the FFP. I'm sure Lukaku is a sellable asset compared to what he feels he needs in his team. I have no doubt that a team will pay in excess of 20M for him and when it becomes an auction we'll pull out. 15M max at the moment, anything over that and you are relying on Lukaku to fulfill his potential but that's all it is at this point…potential.

  3. Like some other people unconvinced by Lukaku bit it depends what the price is. Below 20M and I'd take the punt on him but I can see a few other clubs with money starting a bit of an auction during the summer. It's a lot of money though and we're not in a position to take that kind of risk.

All gone a bit quiet on Michy, hopefully that transfer is lined up for the summer.

Looking to the future I have concerns over the defense. Martinez has been blessed that he had the ready made back 4 already in place, as the guys get older I feel it's going to be more imperative to ensure that we bring in some young guys to learn exactly what is required. In many respects building on the blocks that Moyes put in place. Whatever your opinion of him now (and mine is very low) he put our solid back 4 together which are the foundation blocks of our team.

  4. Players coming back from injury and no doubt March going into April everyone will start clicking again. The injuries have shown up the depth of the squad, it's extremely frustrating to be so close but not able to just make that next step.

  5. I hate Spurs, no logical reason for it so this is one of the games I look for when the fixtures are released. I think it would be better to leve Naismith on the bench and use him as an impact sub. Hopefully Kev will now just start scoring for fun with his confidence sky high.

  6. Hello,

I've been reading these forums for a while and have taken the plunge and signed up.

Based in New York and have been living in the US for just over 5 years. Decided to paint myself blue when I was a little lad around 1985, decided Everton was going to be my choice then and have been keenly following the exploits of the mighty blues since then.

Thanks to NBC's recent pick up of the premier league rights I'm able to catch all of all league matches on tv. My most recent trip to Goodison was back in November for the derby.

Looking forward to joining in the discussions on this forum.
