  1. Thought Barkley started slowly but got into it well, Barry was decent up until the penalty he gave away, McCarthy was good as usual but not amazing, Pienaar had some good touches and looked ok sometimes, Baines the same really as with Mirallas and Lukaku was similar but on a whole probably deserved MOTM. Joel was a fuckin liability in goal, was he having a bet with someone to how much of a cunt can someone look in 1 half? Just catch the ball, a punch gives the ball back to them, catch it run out to the edge of the box and distiribute the ball to one of our players. He had a real chance to put a bit of pressure on Howard this weekend and he didn't take it.
  2. Hernandez is a much better player than Naismith, they are leagues apart, Hernandez is quicker got better movement and is a better finisher. I think if we could get him for 10 million he would be a good signing.
  3. I liked Neville, especially at RB, most notably whenever he came up against Bale who was arguably the best LM in the league at the time.
  4. What's the point in supporting a team if you don't want to see them progress, Europa League is progression for us seems we haven't played in it since 09/10. I'm gutted we haven't been in Europe for as long as we have, I love European nights at Goodison whether it be against some team from Slovakia/Greece/Norway no ones ever heard of, or when we came back from 2 nil down against Fiorentina and lost on pens. I'll be made up if we qualify for it. The manager can then try and deal with the squad size problems in the summer.
  5. I think March is gonna be our most important month in a while, if we can pick up some decent wins it will give us momentum for what will be a tough April.
  6. Personally gutted this has been re-arranged to a mid week game, Newcastle is a decent night out and 4 of us were due to go up there for it. Its no longer televised either. Think its a winnable game though, Pardew could end up being banned for it after him trying to headbutt Meyler.
  7. I can't ever remember him even passing never mind a key pass!
  8. Only if the FA Cup finalists have both already qualified for Europe
  9. I love your enthusiasm for him and I hope he proves me wrong, but, I still think he is an average player that we need to replace in time to become a better overall squad, I haven't moved any goalposts at all that has been my argument from the start up until now. This argument has ran its course for now and we will just have to agree to disagree. I'm sure the Naismith issue will come up again before the end of the season.
  10. I agree we need a Ji Sung Park type of player, someone who is very good at what he is told to do and what he actually does, Naismith is not that player though. My argument is that Naismith is average at what he does, we don't want him there to run around pressing people and getting in the way, we want someone there who can score, set up play and link up with our wingers and midfielders. If we want to progress to being a consistent top 4/5 team, we need players who have more consistent quality than Naismith IMO.
  11. Ji Sung Park was a very good player, he would be a key member for us if he was at the same level as when he played for Utd and even he was left out of the Champions League winning squad, and was eventually sold by Ferguson, no comparison.
  12. Its been said about Naismith (On here) that he's the type of player we should be having in the squad if we want to progress, my point was, if we want to progress he is IMO one of the players who needs to go (eventually) he is a passenger, along with a few others, Osman (Unless he somehow rediscovers his form from last season that got him an England call up) Hibbert, Vellios all these players need to be replaced with better quality, which I think they will be eventually once Roberto gets a few transfer markets under his belt, along with a couple of the youth players hopefully developing.
  13. Would be made up with Europa League qualification, whether it be finishing 6th or winning the FA Cup, obviously i'd prefer the latter. Not arsed if people think its a shite cup, it builds the profile of the club and European away days with your mates are decent!
  14. The constructive debate was never on the cards as soon as I wasn't impressed from the article you posted. Can you set up a forum section for blinkered unappreciative cult fans, I should fit right in there.
  15. Ok mate I'll agree with your comment, you are right, Naismith is a class act I just hope we can keep hold of him at the end of the season. Can we be mates now? I promise I will agree with everything you say in future so you don't feel the need to label me as one of them awful cult supporters who appreciate good players and think average players shouldn't be a part of our starting 11.
  16. You asked me to read the article saying I would fail to be impressed by the lad, the article did nothing to change my mind about the fact the lad is an average footballer. If you honestly think he's a better player than Cahill then I really do not know what to say.
  17. Yeah he seems like a decent lad, in a Scottish newspaper wrote by a Scottish journalist about a Scottish player.
  18. His attitude is good as is his work rate, but, I personally would be gutted if he gets as much playing time next season as what he has this season, because I think he is one of the players we need to 'phase out' if we want to progress.
  19. I don't know exactly how many times he's played upfront. He's got 2 goals in the League, 3 in the FA Cup, 1 in the League Cup. I've said before I think he's a decent squad player for now, but the way some people on here go on about him you'd think he was Messi. He's bang average at best, which is why he's an effective sub.
  20. A top class finisher who has scored 2 goals in 21 appearances in the Premier League, while looking average or below in 80% of them games. I really don't get why he is getting so much praise and Lukaku has been gettin slated recently. He is the equivalent of the slow kid you have in your primary school class who eventually learns his 3 times table at the age of 10 and everyone makes a massive fuss over him, its ridiculous.
  21. I really don't know where all the love for Naismith is coming from, yeah he works hard an scored a few goals, 2 of them against Stevenage, but i'd be gutted if he was a regular starter for us after the next transfer window. He's decent off the bench because the other players are shattered, but he really is an average player. He was average again on Saturday. If we can progress the way Martinez wants us to, i'll be gutted if he's still playing for us in a couple of seasons.
  22. McCarthy MOTM for me, Baines and Stones both played well
  23. McCarthy is a class act, its pretty simple and obvious to most of the fans, alot of fans who go the game and watch us on telly don't know anything about football, either because they have never played or because they just simply don't understand the game, you have to just not listen to these fans or you end up getting wound up. We will see who has been our best player this season when the 'Players player of the year' is announced. Barring an injury or Coleman getting into double figures with goals scored it will be McCarthy. Gibson is a decent player and I have always liked him, but, he's now 3rd choice behind Barry and McCarthy because he isn't as good as them, he still has a job to do though.
