  1. "He's not been the greates finisher over the years, but that'll do"
  2. It was. 1 out of 50 tries, but who cares. We're talking about survival in the top flight.
  3. Unbelieveable, but it's in and that's what we need. 1-0, but we know we need more, don't we.
  4. Yeh, was even a weak shot. Not really acceptable by him at all.
  5. Who isn't. The only explaination I can see, is that he must be doing very well in training.
  6. Starting XI Pickford - Young - Tark - Branth - Myko Gana - Gomes - Douc - Harrison - McNeil Calvert-Lewin It's Dyche so no surprises there. I'd just like to know what his reason is for letting Young play. He's shit, he's finished, he should be out of here.
  7. We don't, Btay. I just think that Calvert-Lewin, if fit, could play a decisive role against a team like Forest as an old fashioned attacking midfielder. Realistically, I think the game will be a mess with two teams more afraid of losing than winning. I hope not but many earlier games this year tells us something else. One thing is almost certain; Dyche will not do anything radical.
  8. Yeh, looks like Luton lost their breath. Anyhow, I'd like to see both Calvert-Lewin and Beto from start, with Calvert-Lewin as an offensive attacking midfielder with Beto on top. And Gomes to hopefully play some nice passes from center midfield...ish either foward or to the wingers.
  9. Hard for me to see Luton will lose that game. When it comes to fighting when everything looks bleak they're one of the best teams for that. And Brentford ... hm not that great of a team really. Well, neither are we, but we absolutely must win against Forest tomorrow.
  10. Such a damn shame that we're dealing with multiple negative factors; if it was "only" one thing then it would be a lot brighter over (for now) Goodison Park. The club is in a very poor state, especially thanks to Moshiri and certain earlier board members. All this means the club has been poorly run and unfortunately we see have seen the effect of this in the last years. At this moment we have absolutely no idea where we stand. Priority should be staying in the top flight and then what? If you think 777 Casino Partners is the solution then you can buy Stonehenge from me. I think it's imperative to get a somewhat solid owner instead ... if there are any. We used to be one of the best clubs, damn it. Settling for maybe's and ok's should really not be accepted by any of us. This whole charade has got to end somehow, but sadly some things are not in the hands of the club, but we certainly know who brought us there, don't we. Should I listen to "If I could turn back time" or "Things can only get better" I'd shed tears, man. Blue tears.
  11. Embarrassed, disappointed and somewhat disgusted with the players and the staff really. What a game to forget. Didn't expect point(s) here, but was hoping for a fight... I just feel ... empty.

  14. Look like the mess will continue from Premier League. How the hell are clubs supposed to plan ahead. This really baffles me. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68790602
  15. From the beginning of next season, that is.
  16. Sheffield United deducted two points ... https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/apr/11/sheffield-united-deducted-two-points-by-efl-for-defaulting-on-payments
  17. Such a tough question. I think Sheffield, Burnley and Forest or Luton. Here's another view on it: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/04/08/predicting-relegation-run-in-after-everton-points-deduction/
  18. Yes, agree on that, been a mess. And would just like to add that one of the major important factors is who or what will be the owner of the club. I'm not too hooked on those casino partners really.
  19. Copied from The BBC Sport pages. Everton's points penalty hurts the club at the worst time, according to former Toffees chief executive Keith Wyness. A two-point deduction for breaching profit and sustainability rules has dropped the club to 16th in the Premier League. They are two points above the relegation zone having already been hit with a six-point punishment, reduced from 10 after an appeal for an earlier breach. Nottingham Forest, 17th in the table, were hit with a four-point deduction last month and are appealing. "These clouds have been hanging over Forest and Everton and this is a time when you have players deciding if they are going to move on, it’s the time when they make these decisions with their agent," said Wyness, who was Everton's chief executive between 2004 and 2008. "This goes way beyond a points deduction of 'two points and that’s all it is'. It impacts the club in so many ways. You can’t get sponsors to commit because they don’t know what division they will be in next year, you can’t get players to commit. "The impact goes way beyond what should be considered a fair penalty for a breach." And I fully agree. The psychological factor cannot be neglected.
  20. I still believe Martinez was told/ordered to ride on the wave Moyes (who was struggling quite a lot at times during his period for us) had made, but were given "free hands" for his second season where it all went wrong. I never saw Martinez as a particular good manager for us, but I do admit his first season was spectacular. But those were indeed other times, Palfy. It's a very different story now where we're desperately trying to survive what Moshiri and an incompetent board has done to us. A lot of work is waiting.
  21. Some need more time than others, but I'm afraid Beto isn't the answer for us. Guess it will depend whether we keep him for the next season or not. But at this point he lack certain abilities.
  22. Oh please, Palfy. Martinez didn't do anything but continuing what Moyes had build up for his first season. And then what happened?
