  1. Can't ask for more from the team tonight. Much better performance than way to City. If the team play like this for the rest of the season there's no way we're going down. Gutted we're out of the FA cup but taking a lot of positives. Goodison Park faithful, lets get behind them like we did against Chelsea last May, be the 12th man.

  2. Look, that was a great 3 points. Great first half, they showed us what they can do, terrible second half (in fairness I thought the players looked knackered) but they dug in and we got the result. That was probably the most nervous last 20 minutes of armchair viewing that I've seen as an Evertonian in a long time. And the reason for that is because I believe we can achieve something this season, every 3 points matters. We have two winnable matches ahead of us (home to Leeds and away to Burnley) and then the dreaded hard December. 6 points from our next two games and December won't look so daunting. It goes like this, home to Chelsea, I'd hope to win, then away to Leicester, will be a tough match but would hope for a least a draw, maybe sneak a win depending on injuries etc, then at home to Arsenal, again I'd hope for 3 points. Next away to Sheff Utd, another possible 3 points, next up Man C at home, we'd probably settle for a point but they're not great. As I've said before I haven't felt this excited about our club since 1984 and I remember the gut wrenching fear of dropping any point back then. And I feel that now. We're close to achieving something. I remember a few years back when Klippity took over the red shite and people on here ( or maybe it was the old forum on the official website which sadly got closed, good laugh, but you can't get way with that carry on these days) were pissed off that they had a plan, a vision and we seemed so directionless. I agreed. But now I believe that we have a plan, a vision,(our stadium included, though I'll miss Goodison). DCL is fast becoming a superstar. All of Ancelotti's signings look great, we wouldn't have had them otherwise. Richarlison is probably our most important player at the moment and has been instrumental this season. Previously we would have lost him. Lets win a cup this season( I don't care which), qualifiy for Europe (I don't care which) and win the league 2021/22. And most importantly, let the fans in before the end of this season.

I'll preface this by saying I'm a little bit worse for wear, but I am fucking loving all of this you know.

We didn't play that well today and yet I wasn't worried watching it. When Palace got the equaliser I just knew we'd go again and I felt confident we could get another goal. When Palace were on top at 1-1 I wasn't worried and didn't even care if they did grab another. I believe in this team and our manager, I believe that if we take a hit we won't stay down anymore but will get back up and have another go. We've got grit now, we've got confidence, we've got creativity, we've got fight, we've got goals.

    This. Feels. Different.

To all those saying it shouldn't have been a penalty... bla, bla, fucking bla. That's how it's being applied this season and Palace got one that went their way last week, it's just been applied consistently. Penalty, three points to us. End of story. Goodnight. Take the win and stop being fucking weirdo's because sure as night follows day we'll have something go against us soon enough and no one will go to bat for us over it.

No Romey, this doesn't feel different, this feels like 1984, I think we're on the cusp of great things. Looks like we've finally got a manager who's identified our weaknesses and has the respect of our owners, Carlo seems to be the one choosing the players that we buy, not Brands.

  4. Get in, great result. Last season we had an easy start and we fucked it up, this season we have a relatively easy start to the season and we're getting results. Today showed real character, determination to see us through. The players will grow in confidence if this continues and when we come up against the bigger teams we won't roll over. Our opening game against Spurs stated our intent. Onwards and , well we can't really go upwards can we, 'cause we're top of the league.

Can't wait to get back inside Goodison Park, it would be a real Everton thing to win something with the fans not able to get in.

I've stopped watching Sky Sports News for that very reason, like most I'm working from home at the moment and it's Liverpool TV 24/7. You've got Souness, Redknapp, Barnes, Carragher, Thompson, Murphy and Fowler on an irritating Kopite merry-go-round. They took a break from the Premier League one time to head up to Scotland but obviously their contact for that was Steven Gerrard. The amount of bias towards the red side of the city is simply astounding and even when it's a completely non-Liverpool related topic they manage to turn it around. The discussion around the restart/scrapping of League One and Two was turned into a Kopite discussion as the chairman of Wycombe (I believe) turned out to be a boyhood Red and obviously got asked about ''that night in Istanbul'' and how great it'd be to see them win the league.

Haha, that is true. Mane's 90th minute winner off the post was the worst - although my first derby was Lee Carsley's 1-0 winner, which seems like forever ago now.

And don't forget they've also got Kelly Dalglish presenting.

  6. I hope they don't rush it, I'd leave Dunc in charge for the next few matches (at least until the FA cup derby), I really don't see what we've got to lose. The danger for a new manager coming in now with the run of games we have if that if results go against us, the confidence will just drop and we end up back in the relegation zone in 5 or 6 games time. I can't see the manager turning that around. The atmosphere in the ground yesterday was great, the fans love Dunc and will give him a chance. As Shearer mentioned on MOTD, he seemed to unleash the monster in DCL, got him playing a more aggressive game, like Dunc played himself. If he does well into the new year I'd certainly give him the rest of the season unless we can get the right manager in the new year. The only manager I'd like to see would be Poch (obviously), but there absolutely no chance of that. Nobody else mentioned seems to fit for me. Would I take Moyes, yes I would. Sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward. Moyes knows the club and certainly won't get us relegated. I think we have to accept that top 6 may be a few seasons away. I do think the board need to sort themselves out though before we can make any real progress.

  7. Let's play our strongest team, go for the cups, we've never won this one before, it's one of our 3 ways into Europa. My team

                     Pickford

    Coleman  Keane  Mina   Digne

    Charlie   Gomes  Siggs  Iwobi

                   DCL   Kean,

We dominated Villa last weekend but couldn't score, but one great moment happened, the link up play between Iwobi and our new superstar Kean. Kean played the most perfect pass and Theo blasted over. I'm giving DCL a free pass in this game, but I think our 19 year old star has already showed maturity, he knows how to play football. The link up at the end of last season between Mustard and Charlie got us so many points, keep that combination, I think we have a new partnership on the left.

    Thoughts ??

Sad day for Everton but also a sad day for officialdom, does the cup have VAR or does it not? You can't introduce it in some games but not in others, if you enter a competition all should play by the same rules surely.

VAR is just used in the League Cup this season, not in the FA Cup of Premiership, but we needed it today.
