I was expecting a couple of new players today but looking like zilch.
-
Certainly a confidence booster for Sheffield at the weekend, whoever plays. Three points before the break would be like a new start and hopefully push on.

You need to tell me who the £42m striker with the proven record is…..
my understanding of strikers is that any proven premier league goalscorer of quality will not get you much change out of £70m.
Sorry Hafina, I can’t come up with a name.
Just thinking a £42m lifeboat may prove safer than two cheaper prototypes. Let’s just hope we can survive with what ever permutation the club comes up with.

Good point.
I think £42m on someone with a proven record would have been the way to go.

I had settled for a disappointing point. Then the late goal, weekend ruined.

He would need to get mentally fit after watching the game against Villa.

I know this is a needs must signing but it just shows how much we got it wrong with Maupay. Although I think Adams is better than Maupay (not saying a lot) if he doesn’t do a job for us it’s almost 30m spent on strikers with no return. Fingers crossed for him & us here.
It’s the old saying buy cheap buy twice.
Or could be more in our case. -
I thought Chermiti would get game time. We aren’t in a position to buy youngsters and wrap them in cotton wool.
-
What would you think is a acceptable return on 15 million in terms of goals scored.
In the case of Adams I would be happy with a dozen.
-
We would struggle to give some of these players away.
-
There aren’t any easy games in this league to clubs in our predicament.
I am hoping for a point and a goal would be nice, getting greedy now.

I’d rather we have a striker for Sunday TBH
Thank you.
I still yearn for the days when we all kicked off at 3.00pm on a Saturday.
-
We appear to be linked to so many players at the moment it’s difficult to keep up. Not looking hopeful for a proven goal scorer to come in for Saturday as yet.
Maybe the new lad will get a start.
-
Its alright getting into good positions and running your heart out but it counts for nothing if you don’t put the ball in the net as we found out on Saturday.
-
Really frustrating start, lots of chances but no points. Feels like -3 points.
Just hope this doesn’t come back to haunt us, come the end of the season. Am I the only one who wakes up on a Sunday morning after losing on Saturday and my first thought is “we lost”.
-
I don’t think Maupay should have been picked, not because he wouldn’t score but in the hope of selling him. After today he has become an even harder sell.
-
I’ve a good feeling about today.

-
Well it’s a signing. Hope he gets some first team football.
I guess it will be too late for tomorrow. If not give him twenty minutes at the end. We should be two up by then.
-
Not long now.
Who do you think will get the first goal for us.
The way things are it will be a penalty or a huge deflection.

Never rated him, okay as cover on the bench, but that’s a lot of wages to have on the bench. I thought he would have been moved on.

As a kid did you ever play the card game Donkey .Only one
Donkey card in the pack. Whoever is left holding Donkey loses of course.
Just how many Donkey cards are we holding.
I base this on the underwhelming performance yesterday. I am not against the manager. He clearly lacks the tools at the moment. I just don’t want another season where you look at the team sheet and ask yourself where are the goals going to come from.

I think we probably paid twice what he was worth.
Cant think of anybody giving the ball to the opposition on such a regular basis. Are we certain he has gone yet.
