Once they add in the Europa Conference Championship Also-Rans League, we're a shoo-in to just barely miss out on qualification
The last time we played in Europe we produced one of the best gifs ever:
-
Brighton targeting Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna as Roberto De Zerbi's replacement. He is also being discussed as a replacement for Poch if Chelsea decides not to bring him back.
-
Based on what their chairman said, it was a mutual consent decision.
-
Roberto de Zerbi reportedly leaving Brighton after tomorrow's match against Manchester United.
-
What's at stake tomorrow:
Points title
-Manchester City: Clinches title with a win vs. West Ham or a draw and a loss by Arsenal. Effectively if they don't win, they need to match Arsenal's result.
-Arsenal: Clinches title with win vs. Everton and Manchester City draw or loss. If Arsenal and City are tied on points, then Arsenal would win the title based on the better goal differential.
Europa League
-Spurs: Clinch a Europa League spot with a draw vs. Sheffield United or a loss and a draw or loss by Chelsea.
-Chelsea: Clinch a Europa League spot with a win vs. Bournemouth and a Spurs loss as Chelsea would have the goal difference tiebreaker.
Conference League
-Chelsea: Clinch a Conference League spot with a draw or a loss by Newcastle United.
-Newcastle United: Clinch a Conference League spot with a win at Brentford and a loss by Chelsea as the Magpies would have a better goal difference.
-Manchester United: Clinch a spot in European football next season with a win or a draw against BHA and a loss by Newcastle or a draw and a loss by Newcastle.
Many of the permutations related to the Europe placements are also dependent on whether Manchester United wins the FA Cup Final. If they win, then they would get a Europa League spot. If they lose and Newcastle finishes ahead of them on points, then Newcastle gets the Conference League spot. If Manchester United finishes ahead of Newcastle in the table, then they'll qualify for European football, regardless of what happens in the FA Cup final.
Relegation
-Forest: Only need a draw vs. Burnley to be safe. If they lose, it would take a lopsided defeat by them and a lopsided victory by Luton for Forest to be relegated.
-Luton Town: Must defeat Fulham by at least six goals and hope that Forest loses by at least six goals to survive. If by some chance that happened, then Luton would stay up based on having a higher number of goals scored (Forest currently has 47, Luton has 50). -
For my fellow Toffee supporters here in the states, our match Sunday will air on USA Network.

Richi back would be a dream come true.
Was reading earlier tonight about him drawing some pretty strong interest from the Saudi league.

Chelsea defeats Forest 2:3. While Luton is still mathematically alive, they'd have to make a +12 GD advantage that Forest has to be assured of safety.

Nitpicking, I know, but Luton 1-1 Everton.
5 clean sheets in a row at Goodison to end the season is what he was referring to.

That's the relegation spots sorted then. Burnley and Luton just ran out of steam at the end here
In the case of Burnley, yes. Luton are not mathematically eliminated but would have to make up a pretty sizable goal difference, depending on how Forest-Chelsea goes later today.
-
Who knows what will happen in the 2nd half of this one but it would be quite something for Doucs to have the final Everton goal of the season at Goodison in back to back years.
-
DCL should have sold that push the way Kane sold the "punch" from Doucs last season.
-
DOUCS!!!!

Pretty sure I just heard Leon Osman suggest Dyche for PL manager of the season.
I'm sure this board would be agreeable to that.

Couple of notes heading into this weekend:
-The battle to avoid relegation could be over after the matches this weekend. Burnley would be officially relegated if they lose at Spurs as their only chance to survive is to win their two remaining matches (final match is home vs. Forest) and have a lot break their way in terms of Forest and Luton and their results. If both Burnley and Luton (who are away to West Ham) lose, then Forest would only need a draw at home against Chelsea to be assured of survival.
-Even though I'd be shocked if it happened (and I'm sure the PL will do everything they can to keep it from happening), if Klopp gets a yellow card at Villa on Monday, then he would have to serve a touchline ban for his final match in charge of the shite against Wolves next weekend. -

Crazy. And in the last month or so, I honestly think they've had four or five games where they've scored the equalizer in stoppage time to avoid defeat
Edit: yep I was right. That was their EIGHTH equalizer in the final 5 minutes this season, twice as many as any other team in Europe's top 5 leagues
And they'll fact Atalanta in the Europa League final on May 22 in Dublin.

Former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui has reportedly agreed to a deal to take over for Moyes after the season ends.

Palace 4 Mancs 0.
First league double over Man U ever for Palace. Also the most PL losses for Man U ever with their 13th today.

Ipswich Town defeats Huddersfield Town 2:0 and clinch the 2nd automatic promotion spot to the Premier League. 2nd straight season Ipswich Town has been promoted and first time since the 2001-02 season they'll be playing in the Premier League. Hull City lost at Plymouth Argyle so West Brom and Norwich City get the final two playoff spots.
Playoff matchups will be Leeds United-Norwich City and Southampton-West Brom with the first legs of the playoff matches played next Sunday.
