  3. I'll quote myself again: We need to be looking up...a top manager who has won things and can bring together a talented team. Not Martinez, not Laudrup, not Poyet - they have NPower Championship written all over them. <edit> OK, that's a bit harsh...what i mean is they are not experienced enough! </edit> I think we're all still thinking that we're the same club that we were in 2001. We're not, we're the 6th best team in the country this year!
  4. I know i'm repeating myself a lot here about Benitez but, blue glasses off, YES! Forget that he managed liverpool, forget that we all hate him for calling Everton a small club, forget his smug little face....Look at his credentials: La Liga (twice), Uefa cup, Champions league, Uefa super cup, Fa Cup, supercoppa italiana, FIFA world club cup. Everton are at a juncture where they are no longer looking to stay afloat, they are looking to move forward into the top 4/5 of the premier league and into Europe (hopefully with some rich dude coming in to give us the financial clout that's really needed). We need a manager with these sorts of credentials who knows how to win things. Out of the managers available, he is my choice - in spite of the Liverpool connections.
  5. Yeah, Tricky your mate is talking bollox cos my mate is a rich nob and he lives in the house next door to Benitez in Caldy. He told me tonight that he saw his neighbour drinking San Miguel on his lawn wearing an Everton mankini and singing the Fellaini song. I'd stick your free £10 sky bet on Benitez if I were you.
  6. something for you to watch: http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/8703503/david-moyes-press-conference
  7. Heh - I'm not trolling, I'm deadly serious. Everton needs a manager with more experience and better credentials than Moyes. Yes, Martinez, Lennon, Mackay, Laudrup are all good managers with similarities to Moyes .... but is that what we want? Or do we want to push to move forward? Benitez, although I really hate him (!), has these credentials in my opinion.
  8. Malky Mackay is now linked... how many more names will be linked with the job?! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22478875
  9. How about Rafa Benitez? I hate him - of course, we all do - but he's a very good manager, is available at the end of the season and a much better target than some of the other names touted (Stubbs...really?!). My opinion is that it's time we should be looking up, not down.
  10. plus, his wife might cause a bit of a problem in the dressing room
