Yakubu Appeal Is A Yes
robin.jones replied to duncanmckenzieismagic's topic in Rumourama - Everton Transfer Rumours
Before we go blaming the board I actually eblieve we planned to sign him as why would we have him in liverpool???? If manny decides in a day he wants spain after being a week in lverpool then he can go jump and lets get on with buying someone who wants to play for us. -
Fernandes Very Close
robin.jones replied to Jay Bernard's topic in Rumourama - Everton Transfer Rumours
I have two worries about this whole saga. A. how can we get so far down the line with the transfer and let some othere club pip us to the post but more importantly. how has manny been inliverpool all week training with the players then at the last minute signs for someone else. Stiks slightly of crap board but more importantly of manny going for the best offer if he was that committed to everton how was his head turned at such a late stage. P.S how can our OWS say nothing although this even though moyes is saynig he is pretty much ours. I heard he was signed but waiting for clearance -
Yakubu Appeal Is A Yes

Fair enough Plonker may have been a bad start to any debate. Anyway I am new to the site this summer and although the stadium dbate does not effect me I find it all leaves a bad taste in the mouth when if we get linked with someone half decent it has an alternative motive. I am a fan of the team not the business set up to take my money. If we spend 11 mil on a worldclass striker I am happy whetehr it's for reasons of football or reasons of business. -

Your right you are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to say your opinion is a load of tosh. So when we do sign Manny and Yak are you going to come on here and put a post that admits you got it wrong. I would understand if the board hadn't delivered on any of their promises but we have signed 30 mil worth of players this summer and another 15 mil the summer before. It's not like the board aren't backing the manager is it. P.S thanks for the spelling lesson it's good to see you have mature attitude to debate -

The prinsoner more like the plonker mate we have got in players for all the positions we needed and are 2/3 days away from spending 20 million on two worldclass players and you are still harping on about it being cause of the stadium move. do you really think they would go as far as to apply for work permits on players if they didn't believe they were going to try and sign them. Stop spouting your crackpot conspiracy theroies and get behind the team. -
We are home and except for a blip at reading blackburn are the teams we should be looking at to beat

Was Beattie The Worst No.9 In E.f.c History
robin.jones replied to Josh Berno's topic in General Everton Discussion
I actually think beattie might have an amazing season after leaving and I cannot understand why people slate him so much. at the begining of last season he was our top scorer being played in a role that did not suit him then moyes brought in AJ and instead of going 442 dropped beattie which screwed his confidence. I don't think beattie was given enough of a chance last season. -
Would You Welcome Back Rooney?
robin.jones replied to sconnerefc's topic in General Everton Discussion
You must be joking i can't even believe this is a thread the way he left and then slated moyes in his book was a joke. Was it not enough to leave like he did but then to slate the manager and club in the press was a joke. I understand he is a greedy little brat who wanted the money and fame so he left but why not keep his mouth shut after that. Don't even like seeing him for england and think his good performances get fewer and fewer. -
Versatility Is Fine But.....
robin.jones replied to robin.jones's topic in General Everton Discussion
I have to completely agree with this assessment of hibbo not the best going forward but he is solid at the back and has got some pace aswell. I rember a game against Man U a few years back and him and ronaldo had an almighty battle. In terms of Jags I agree the problem with him having so many positions is he doesn't get a regular game in one. I actually think he should be challenging cars and nev for centre mid. I think if he got a chance he could displace both. When we get cahill back I will stuggle to see a place in the team for more than 1 of Jags/Nev/Cars and I think with his energy jags could be the man -

Don't get me wrong this is not a critique of DM but just why we aren't playing the plares we have paid money for. With the list of injured players we had on the first day I was amazed that pip and cars played ahead of jags. Jags isn't like piernar where he needs to be intorduced to the prem he was a defensive mid in a poor side that scored 4 goals last season. On the subject of piernar it seems to me he could end up as a osman type player where he is always on the fringes because he is more about technique than strength. -
Bri completely agree my thread is slightly nit picking at the fact that we now only lack that position but i actually think if we play one defensive mid with 3 more attack minded players in front we will have no massive requirement for a left mid.

No I agree that pip is never going to be dropped moyes loves him too much but I have to say Jags when he came on against spurs although looked good was like a bull in a china shop and it seemed he didn't know where he was playing. I think moyes needs to reign him in and get him competing with pip for the right o be the holding mid. I actually still think out of the signings we have made jags could end up being the most important one and I think a future captain. -
To be honest I see jags as the better option for the holding role i don't see him as a rightback. Although someone pip has got this status where he will always get a game. I would play osman/piernar and artets in front of pip because i think fernandes won't be ready.

Looking forward to the blackburn game talks are now yak and aj will be fit along with baines. Bet lescott plays at left back again -
I think however moyes plays there will always be a def. mid. in there. I personally like this lineup. Howards Hibo Yobo Lescott Baines Jags Arteta Cahill Fernandes AJ Yak When jags did come on against spurs he was everywhere and I think if you can channel that energy into a player who can run the midfield and keep his movement covering the back four he would be a great player to have in the holding role. I think with the attacking element to the midfield after the 3 i have named you can add peirnar/osman/Faddy as other options. This would also take out the need for out and out wingers.
-
Why don't we use the players we have bought for there position. My biggest annoyance is with Lescott he is an amazing defender and not half bad left back. But with valente/boyle fit and baines coming back this weekend please can we play lecott in the position we bought him for. Stubbs is good in the air and reads the game we'll but he does not have the pace and acceleration with the ball that both lescott and yobo have. I think with hibbs and baines at full back and lescott and yobo in the centre baring injuries we should get them playing together. My other point is Jags and piernar why are cars and nev getting in ahead of these two. It would worry me if they were not better than the cars nev paring
-
I think atleast we should be looking at a squad player for the left wing to make us a more balanced side got no suggestions to be honest.
-
Moyes said he would deal with this this week why hasn't he made a call on what happens I think we have to accpet that shandy is doomed and all the positive comments we heard at the begining of the season have been in vein
-
I think we are building an amzing squad at the moment. However I am slightly worried with all the money being banded around we haven't got in a decent left midfielder. We have arteta as a worldlass right midfielder, Manny cars, nevster piernar as a great mix of central midfielders and then we have ossie (who is a right winger) Faddy (Who is a stiker) and VDM (who likes his ducth courage too much) surely we should buy players who play in that poistion.

Why Can't We Win The League?
robin.jones replied to robin.jones's topic in General Everton Discussion
I don't think we do have such a small squad do we with a couple of reasonable youngsters to come through such as Boyle, swindon boy and viddarson -
Well he isn't playing it now so lets stick to the two formation which work 442 and 451. I think when cahill comes back he may return to 451.

I am not sure about the price but if he is who moyes has decided we need then get him through the door. again we drag out our trasfers for too long. I don't understand how it takes us soo long we should have other options. -
Not sure what you mean Bri but i meant that Faddy should replace big Vic
-
VDM antics are like that of an alco who begs for 2ns chance after 2nd chance. What amazes me is Dm let's him carry on. Moyes sounds like one hell of a strict manager and hates anyone who screws around with team spirit just pay him up and get him out.

I think if you at the results of the big 4 all have struggled some have got lucky with results but I think the gap has been closed tto some degree betweent he top 4 and teams like us blackburn etc. I actually think alot of team will not like to come to us or blackburn.
