Why would we change to diamond now. We have just had 2 good wins with a 442 and an unlucky result. I think put vic on the bench and bring faddy in I also think piernar should be give a go in the centre in place of either cars or nev.

I have to say Faddy every season always flatters to decieve with 2 or 3 amazing cameo performances. Back in 2005 when beatts was on form faddy was also getting some good games under his belt. With our current small crop of fit stikers I think against blackburn faddy should get given his chance as a stiker along side AJ. I actually think with balls into faddys feet he could create a good few openings for AJ. I think we should give them atleast a couple of games together as I don't think Vic is up to a full first team action at the moment.

There has to be something in the YAk stories, Boro confirmed we asked about him they have bid for a replacement (Alves) why aren't we going for him? and he was left out their last game. It always makes me laugh when moyes plays it soo cool and refuses to talk about it.

I think 7 mil for smith or 11 mil for yak is no contest. All the people calling for us to have smith in the side were dillusional he is nothign short of useless. Whereas Yak is proven at separate clubs

I defo think there has been some sort of dicussion between DM and the board that basically said back me I am off. DM obviously thinks he needs a higher level of players to take the club on and so needs to spend the money.

Does anyone know what are points tally from the games we played against last seasons's top five. I think our problem is we don't beat the lower teams we should beat regularly enough. although this season we may have the team and character to do just that

Although alot of teams have spent big i think ig both yakuba and manny come in we have improved competition in the first team and really have the players to amke the other ones work. I also think the addition fo manny gives us alot of diifferent option in midfield.

Thanks for your kind words guys but there are no drugs involved with this thread. All I am saying is with a strong defence and 1 amazing playmaker I think we can go far. we talk about stregth in depth but if Man U lost ronaldo (They just have) RS lost stevie G (they just have) then they would definatly effect the perfromance of the team. I understand it's unlikely on paper but if you put our first team out everyweek they would rival most teams.

Yobo has said it's possible and although DM says he doesn't set targets I bet he tells the players they are capable of it. So after two games for most clubs no one is looking unbeatable. Chelsea have had two wins but not convincing Man U are lookng average at best. Liverpool were lucky at villa. I have to say having watched Man City at west ham last saturday they look a very capable outfit and could score alot of goals. I feel this season alot of teams are capable of going on a run and we are onje of them. I think our first team back four as a unit could be second only to chelsea. I think we have the top playmaker in the league in arteta with some very good other players to support him. I think AJ is not far off worldclass and if we can bring in someone around the same value we would look alright upfront. I actually think between them JV and VA are capable of getting 15 prem goals this season. So if we get lucky with injuries and are able to field in and around our first team for most of the season why not.

I think ashton for reealistically would be a perfect buy. I am slightly lost why the trail has gone cold on the guy from Heveren Alfonso Alves. He scored 34 in 32 last season reckon a bid of 10 mil would secure him. He is 25/26 and his wages wouldn't be stupidly low coming from a crap holland side.

What I actually said was if we need to have the long ball option n our side we need to replace beattie with a better version who can win headers and hold the ball up Vic and AJ cannot play that system and would bebetter with balls into feet or balls downt the channels I would hope moyes buys a stiker who is a bit of both wouild love us to have got ashton.

I think Moyes will field the same team although I would like to see either Jags start or piernar get atleast the most of the second half. I think this could end up being a bit of a dull affair with reading trying to defend and us nicking a 1-0

Sorry if this is a recreation of another thread I just see so many times when we get possession in midfield or defence and only certain players look to launch it up front where as players like ossie lescott and arteta take a touch and look up before just hoofing it. When we didn't just hoof it we looked like we could threaten them.

Zigic is an unknown to most of us I guess. In terms of when vaughn comes back I see vaughn as slightly better than big vic and although they are good for the odd start and sub appearance I think moyes knows we need a ready made first team player. If he thought we only needed cover why is he bidding 10 mil for yakuba, He is not goign to break the transfer record for a bench player. Anyway my point is we shouldn't be playing long ball at all and should be looking at a goal scorer to come in who is quick so we can play teams on the break with balls into the channels. How many times last night did AJ get a cross into the box from the wing we need a better finsher in the box to convert them

I just think the long ball games doesn't help our stikers AJ only got to about 1 in 10 of the long balls and vic even less. If we want to sue that as an option then we should be looking at a target man for AJ to play off and although Beattie wasn't the answer someone ni that mould would be.

I have on say on current form Reading and Bolton should be a push over I would worry against blackburn as I think on their day they are very good. Let's be honest if we want top 6 we need to beat teams like reading and bolton.

2 points: What I should have said about Vic was last night he gave the ball away alot and also gave away alot of freekicks whera as Aj holds the ball well and passes it off. I think we need another stiker to play with AJ and use Vic sparingly. I agree he is a nightmare to play but he needs to think more about his game and play a bit more cleverly. 2nd point. I agree the played we'll and created alot of chances I just think we will play even better when manny replaces either cars or nev in the middle. I also think jagielka needs to be given a go at centre back while baines is out. I think stubbs should not be first chice as he gets shown up for pace far too often. Oh and please don't get all moody cause I am knocking parts of the perfomance this is an opinion I am entitled too.

Very Impressed with our win tonight but we still insist on lobing the ball out of defence or midfield and hoping Vic and Aj can get on the end of it. I think this is a sympton of having our ball plaers (spud + Os) on the wings and so when nev or cars get it they try and lob it up fron.t Hopefully with Manny in the middle we have someone who takes his time under pressure not to just hoof it. a few other points. Spud is the bets playmaker in the prem. Ossie seems to have added some purpose to his game and seems to have more an end product. With all the negative threads that are being placed on here about ground moves, lack of transfers, lack of money I have to say with the signings we have made and the people that have left and the names we are being linked with. I have never been so excited about a everton game/season for years. I am going to a dodgy pub to watch the game live and I cannot wait. I actually think the boys will come out really positive tomoorw on top form and we will really stuff wigan 3/4-0 the only player they have I am remotely worried about is Koumas and the fact they are playing kilbane at left-back against Spud is great news. Spud to boss the game and score a couple and kilbane own goal COME ON!!!

With who we have fit and bare in mind it's wigan and they have kilbane at left back I would like to see a flat 442 with us going for it down the wings. I would actually like to see: Howard, Hibbo, Yobo Jags , Lescott Spud, Neville Peirnar, VDM AJ + VIC Although VDM is not what we hoped up to now I have seen flashes and if he is fit let moyes let him loose against a poor wigan side.
