With Cahill out should we be trying to bring Bjarni into the side more I think he could really establish himself this year. Saw him in the Crystal Palace game and he seemed pretty good on the ball and not overpowered by being in the first team.

Manny if the 8 mil price tag is true. I think if we get him on a performance based fee he could turn out to be as important as Arteta. I get the impression from moyes that he doesn't take kindly to individuals and egos and although it looks like manny could have been that sort of character Moyes obviously thinks he can get it out of him while still keeping the team spirit. COME ON DAVEY MANNY AND YAK LETS GO FOR THE DOUBLE!!!!!

I have to say if Moyes does manage to get manny back for 8 and yak in for anything under 12 this will go with my current theory taht he should spend big on proven prem players. as with the successful recent foreign buys he has had a good look at manny and if the rumours are true now the price has come down is ready to pay for him. Worries me where the money is coming from but if we got both of these players I would be pretty confident of us challeging top 6 maybe top 4

Moyes has developed a pretty stable and safe transfer policy. He spends his money on proven premiership/ Championchip players (Baines Jags AJ Lescott Cahill) and if he gets in a foreign import it is usually on loan with a view to making it perm if it works out (Spud, Manny, Piernar). obviously he has had his hands burnt a few times by AVM etc but this safe methodical no risk approach is slowly paying dividends and I think in terms of players such as Lucho the argie it would be a massive risk that could really screw up both our finances and team spirit. I think if we do spend 10 mil on a player it has to be someone from another prem club who will definatly make an impact. I am thinking players like Dean Ashton damien duff robbie keane.

I would like it to be true this is the sort of player I think we should be going for but for that sort of money I would want someone younger. Although Manny was good I think there are better younger players out there.

When moyes was talking about Money for 1 big signing was he talking about baines. I think not as since then we have got 5 mil in from player sales so the money for the big signing must still be there. i think lucho is a step to far.

I just thought I would put something forward alot of people were dissapoitned we didn't sign smith, but IMO he never would have cut it. He doesn't score enough JV and BIG VIC got 8/9 league goals between them last year I don't think you would have got that from smith. He has heart and scares defenders so do the two youngsters I just think for next season AJ and BIG VIC can do what is required to keep us top 6 with faddy doing the odd cameo to support. I think we need one squad striker in as cover and then see who plays we'll in the lower leagues and snap one up ni Jan.

I think we need cover for stikers not a worldclass stiker. I have a feeling Big Vic could work we'll in a creative 442 with AJ alongside him. Everyone wanted AMith because he gave the defneders a hard time and would give AJ more space. We'll I think Bi Vic can do taht job and get more goals than smith.

I thinhk to bolster numbers this could be good business. I think if there is any truth in the lucho stories and we accept baines is now in. I would be happy going into the season with Faddy AJ and Big Vic as our strikers with Lukas and this spanish fellow as cover. there has been alot of moaning about the quality/size of our squad but I think if you look at our defence and midfield (+Lucho) we are looking like quite a tasty outfit with a large outlay on a striker in Jan.

What worries me is Man City can sign 4 players in 24 hours and we can't close a deal on baines in 24 days. If we want him put in a offer we think he is worth if wigan turn it down then make an anncouncement to say he is too expensive so the fans can move on. I don't mind things being done behind closed doors but when there is weeks of speculation about 1 player and rival managers (roy keane) are saying we are in for him and the wigan manager saying we are in for him it's not like we don't know they are making bids so why not put out a statement claryfying things.

Who is this Ian Ross Fella ? I have to admit I am getting more than nervous about our current squad or lack of one. With Tiny injured in such a low key game doesn't it bring home how fragile our squad is to injuries. The defence is pretty solid and with Phil J in looks even better but take Arteta out of the midfield and Aj from up front and we are really lacking a team sheet taht is going to scare the likes Of wigan. I think if we lose either AJ or Arteta we could have a real struggle on our hands to stay with the top 10 nevermind the top 6. I know no one really knows how much money there is to spend but we have spent 4 mil in a season where our revenue from tv and tickets must be above 20 mil and we don't seem to have a board that understand what keeps more money/ investment coming in is a successful team which we are in danger of not having

This is my first post I just wanted to goad opinion on whether we actually need another striker at 8 mil when there is more pressing positions. A new winger. I think with AJ taking most the reponsibilty and beattie/Big Vic/Vaughn/Faddy to choose from alongside him not to mention Tiny Tim if we are really running low why do we need to spend 8 mil on nugent.
