  1. Not a bad draw at all, would have preferred it at home, can't stand snake pass. Shouldn't write them off though. Complacency is the mother of all f*** ups. I think the way we are going, we should be taking all competitions seriously and looking to win all of them. Suggesting this may be a Mickey Mouse cup is arrogant. It's a ticket to Europe if all else fails. Sorry to hear the Wednesday fan so down. It will pick up mate, we've had our low ebbs and quite recently too. 'Always look on the bright side of life.............'
  2. Three players and all well deserved. I'd put money on AJ to kick start his form if he's given the chance against Israel. Will be interesting if he plays with Owen. IMO they would work well together. To the main point of the thread though, well done Lescott. Outside of Terry, I can't think of a more dependable English Defender anywhere, including Carragher. Ferdinand has always been a bit dodgy for me, and if Joleon gets a shout, apart from the usual FA politics, he won't be shifted. It will be curious if the best players will be picked for the England squad based on form, or whether it will continue to be the usual Blue Eyed Boys as we have become accustomed.
  3. Well spotted. I'd completely forgotten about that. £2.8 million will be a bargain if he keeps his form.
  4. где таксомотор?? Babel fish is PANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Добро пожаловать к нашим ukranian друзьям. Смотреть вперед к хорошей игре.
  6. That's 5 games and he has hardly been on the pitch, yet he has set up two extremely important moves resulting in goals, both linking with AJ putting him clean through with killer passes. More to come, I can assure you. I have said before about his form at Ajax, and the way he has started so far, IMO will be difficult to let him go after the loan spell. He could end up pricing himself out of a move here at this rate. Just a thought. Maybe this lad is not crap after all, you doubters
  7. Well there is a surprise. Nice to see Gravesen back. He is exactly the type of player that we have been looking for providing he hits the form he was showing when he left. IMO Moyes is just building options into the squad for Europe, a lesson learnt hard last time out when very few were brought in. I know he is not the future and I'm sure that is not the intention. Unless he is blinding this season, I doubt very much if he will sign after the loan has finished. I would like to think that Moyes is still looking at a long term solution, but this may give him some breathing space so as not to be pressured into a panic buy, and we may have to wait until January before we see more new faces. I guess we will we know by tomorrow. Would still like Appiah, if that was ever serious speculation, but it may not be possible to put a deal together in time. He would definitely be worth the wait if need be. Nice to see you back Tommy! Do us proud!!!!!
  8. What about one of Beatties first shirts, Jan Molby would have got into one of them
  9. Given the fact that he has hardly played, I think what he ahs shown has been promising. It is entirely fair to withold judgment at this time, but the lad has talent and has shown some good flashes already. I seem to remember the Wigan game where he made an almost instant impact with a clinical pass. This is the reason he was brought in. I think you will see his true worth when we actually stat playing more technical opposition where his vision and quick decision making will be on show. That said, it will be up to him to replicate his Ajax form. I think that is why Moyes has brought him in on loan as opposed to stumping up top wack for a player he is not 100% convinced by himself. The lad certainly is worth a look and has the potential to be very good. Lets get behind the boy and look at what he can do. I think too many times we are quick to criticise or undermine players prematurely. IMO, Moyes is doing a very good job in slowly building a young side that has the capability to seriously compete for trophies over the next 5 years or so, and to do that he needs a set of players with a range of skills so the team can be picked to suit the opposition, of which Pienaar is one. He will bring quick paced creativity to midfield and would suit a side building on quick breaks and sustained pressure on the opposition. I have seen him play for Ajax a few times, and he is very good. On his day, he is a show stopper. I just hope we do see a repeat of this form, but so far so good for me.
  10. Your not wrong. ALL HAIL TO THE MOYES GOD!!!!
  11. Absolutely agree, Appiah would bring a real bite with some flair hopefully, not to mention his age. Nolan would be a good second, but could only offer bite. He is a bit agricultural for me, solid and dependable, which is OK for the squad. Both would be nice to strengthen the team, but I can't really see it, but I have been wrong before.
  12. Be careful Mike, by saying the prick was labotomised, you are suggesting the primeval cesspool, single celled organism actually had a brain to start with. I agree with your comments though about the majority, they mostly try to steer the thread on to the right track, but I guess the cretinous minority will continue to tarnish everyone elses reputation eh???
  13. We must all be emigrating, welcome to the Everton Expat forum. Happy posting
  14. Well pointed out Romey. I have said in a previous thread that one of the most positive aspects of our current team is the willingness and ability to play the ball on the deck. If we are to progress in Europe, we need to dismantle continental defenses with clinical passing and movement. The up and under is a sign of desparacy and a lack of imagination. I don't think we will see a repeat of the Unsy lob and hope, as it does not become our current team. I hope the Yak is sincere as he has just joined a club with more pride than you can shake a stick at. I think he will become an instant legend now that he is here, it's just up to him now to gel with the rest and perform. We will now get to see the best from AJ also. Will be interesting to see who comes into midfield now, SSP have said Appiah is a target. Strong player, lets hope this is serious.
  15. GRRRRRRRRRRR. It has brought the Jekyll and Hyde in me out this thread has!!
  16. Haven't been able to get on here for a day or two and just catching up. WELL DONE THE REDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big up on respect for the way they conducted themselves as a club, players and supporters. I was extremely moved by the pre match events, as were a great many Liverpool fans in the crowd. I think the whole event has brought a real sense of perspective to everyone, and hopefully will go someway to go back to the days when Blues and Reds had only FRIENDLY banter as opposed to the venomous, cretin fuelled abuse that we would expect from Mancs. While we are on the subject, I read the post on their forum from the link in this thread, and I have to say I'm shaking with rage. The twat who started the thread should be hunted down and shot!!! What a WANKER!! Thank you to all the Mancs who posted to the contrary, but oh my god, do people like this really exist. How can someone interpret last nights events at Anfield as a cynical publicity stunt by LFC. Surely, if anyone was pulling a stunt, it was Rhys's family and the Police, trying desparately to maintain a high profile of the event to get people to come forward with information, or perhaps even to shame the killer into coming forwards. There was nothing cynical about it and to even suggest it is heresy. I am sure that in reality that most Man Utd supporters are actually very nice people, but this tosser and those that support his views have no place in football, society or indeed the civilised world. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but to use a murdered boys tragedy to justify a dig at a football team is PATHETIC. GROW UP AND FUCKING DIE TOSSER. YOU ARE WORTHLESS FUCKING SCUM WHO DOESN'T DESERVE TO DRAW BREATH!!!! Once again, thanks to the Reds for their unquestionable supprt and dignity last night, I'm sure Rhys would be proud.
  17. Good idea, buy him and let clean the boots, then send him on loan to Reykjavik, and rot in obscurity. lol
  18. Would go along with the way this thread is going. Just read this on BBC Sport and couldn't quite believe the stupidity of this. It is typical FA beauracratic nonsense. They just love showing everyone who is in charge. I would absolutely gaurantee that if Man Utd were signing him, this would not have come up and he would have even made his début yesterday. I think that maybe certain people in certain places like to influence the way the league goes, such as mad fixtures and delaying players arriving to clubs that would perhaps benefit otherwise. Strange that Man Utd were in the bottom three yesterday. I wonder how many penalties WON'T be awarded AGAINST them and how many non-pens they are given??????
  19. I'd agree with Bobby. Rooney had the world at his feet and has blown it. I think he jumped too early, showing his true colours as a money grabbing egotistical scally. The lad has no brains at all. I have to say though, outside of Moysey, Ferguson is probably the best manager to get the best out of him, and if it wasn't for that fact, I think he would have self destructed by now. Bobby is bang on about his performances, he is unquestionably one of the most gifted players to have graced the game, but doesn't he just know it. Well what goes around comes around, I believe in Karma, and he sure is paying the price for his arrogance, if these injuries keep up, I don't think it will be long before we see a repeat of Greavsie or Best. A shame over all, and I don't like knocking people, but he is a jumped up little twat. Would have supported him but for his big gob. Moysey should have never dropped his law suit, or was he paid off?????? I suppose we will never know. All I know is that Man U are very good at manipulating situations, look at Heinze (which I have to say I am pleased with, didn't want him at RS). In answer to the original question, NO! We want team players who are proud to wear the shirt. We have had too many individuals in the past and it cost us. We are going in the right direction now, why ruin it by bringing in insecure glory seekers. Wow, I don't know what came over me. Did I mention that I'm not a Rooney fan.
  20. There is no way I would agree Beattie was the worst No. 9 for us. I'd go with Angell, even 'Barn Door' Barlow was more prolific. I thought Beattie was unlucky playing for us. He ran his socks off every game for us, particularly once he lost that extra weight. I just don't hink it was a good match. He is a killer finisher, but spent too much time chasing and often played too deep. I thought things might change when AJ came, but I think Moysey had already decided it wasn't to be and he got frozen out. Give the lad some respec though, he still came on and worked hard. A good professional, I hioe he does well for the Blades.
  21. Concur with Bobby, it wasn't too long ago various plaudits were talking about an England call up for Hibbo. Not much chance of that now with Richards performance the other night, but the point is that he has the ability defensively and does a good job for us. Just his confidence very now and again goes wandering off. Should help though with Yobo and Lescott looking like they are now planted in CD and the boys we have in front of the back four should keep some of the pressure off as well as Howard in goal, I'm sure any defender would relish playing in our side at the moment.
  22. Welcome NS, hope you have fun in here. It is very interesting
  23. Top team Blue!!!! I think we would win hands down..................... I just hope the ref doesn't realise 12 players were on. Sorry mate, but some awkward get had to point it out.
  24. I love these debates and getting everybody's different views on players etc. I'm not sure I would agree with Blue4ever's point about Pienaar. I've seen him play when he was with Ajax and for S.A. and I'm telling you, don't let his gangly appearance fool you, the lad is strong. He has a commanding presence on the ball, and given time, could be on a par with Viera. He has certainly shown the ability a couple of seasons ago. Never looked happy at Borussia. If you have any doubts, this is a good article I found on the web: http://www.goal.com/en/Giocatore.aspx?IdPe...=Steven+Pienaar
