They've started much the same as us. Going to be very tight. I'd expect Distin back in and wouldn't be surprised to see Besic, though not sure who he'd be in for. Sounds like Eto'o has a knock so won't be starting. Pienaar also somehow picked up another knock. Think the writing is on the wall for him. Kone made it through 55 minutes apparently, so good news there. I think we'll see exactly the Chelsea team to start.

Maybe it's just me, but I've been needing something a bit more meaningful to fill the Everton hole of the international break. As far as I can tell we don't have anyone returning with new injuries. An unsubstantiated rumour about Eto'o aside. Lukaku has had 2 weeks for his toe to recover, but I've heard rumblings that he may miss out. Anyone have knowledge to share on that front? Apart from Bosnia-Herzegovina's collapse to Cyprus I think most of the lads have had a successful break and I think we can expect a much better performance. Really hoping Jags cameo against Switzerland will be the turning point for our defense. I know people will still be calling for it, but I'm still backing him and Distin for now. If we're shown up by the Baggies hastily assembled forward line full of cast offs then I'll be on the wagon calling for Stones as well. Don't think there'll be too many surprises, but McGeady has to start for me (assuming Pienaar is still out). He's looked dangerous and we'll need options going forward. 3-1 as I still don't see us keeping a clean sheet.

He was definitely sloppy in possession. Only completed about 68% of his passes if I recall correctly. Yup, per BBC: Did you know? Had the lowest pass completion of any England outfield player against Switzerland (68%).

Only saw the last 30 minutes of today's match, but was very clear that Stones is constantly getting sucked inside. He doesn't have the natural tendency to hold width as a RB and he's always looking to tuck in and cover. For my money he gave up too much space to their left wing, but as mentioned they were very slow to capitalize. He does better though when it comes to reading play and putting in challenges as the ball arrives.

One of the rags usually has a list of these that they try to make hay with. Don't see us signing anyone else, but happy to chat it out.
