  1. Sounds in the mould of someone to be Cars' replacement.
  2. Yeah, Ezquerro is definitely a striker for the most part. He *can* play on the wing, but he's not your typical winger, as he doesn't have as much pace as a Stevie Pienaar for example. Also, he will probably prefer playing centrally now that he's nearly thirty one, like more of a second striker. Either way, he's not someone we really need, just as others have already said.
  3. Most top class players are money grabbers. The more you spend, the more they want.
  4. I love their excuse, about him wanting to join national team mate Martins.... ummm, what about the the TWO Nigerian team mates he has with him right now? What a load of crap; along the lines of this he already turned Arsenal down, and if that's true, I doubt he's gonna say yes to Newcastle.
  5. If Stubbs and Nev play long ball up to Vaughan, that'd be great. What with Birmingham's defenders climbing all over his back, putting stress on his shoulders.

Sound JD in DC, just clearing it up
  7. First choice: Howard Jags Yobo Lescott Baines Arteta Carsley Cahill Pienaar Yak McFadden OR if Baines is injured and McFadden needs a rest or whatever: Howard Jags Yobo Stubbs Lescott Arteta Carsley Gravesen Pienaar Cahill Yak I just hope Nev doesn't play, and it'd be great to see Vaughan and/or Vic come on off the bench as well as Tommy. It's hard on Ossie to leave him out, but maybe a rest will do him good before the Nurnberg game.
  8. Yet he has still managed to score bucket loads of goals for Pompey and 'Boro. If we stop hitting it long ball then his heading ability will not matter, whilst his touch with chest or otherwise is clearly better than he has shown. He's already proven those things in this country and once he is in a settled team, settled into the club properly, and the team is settled in its fashion of playing then he'll score loads for us.

    Luton

You mean this... * Stefan Wessels * Joleon Lescott * Alan Stubbs * Jorge Nuno Valente * Phil Neville © * Phil Jagielka * Steven Pienaar * Leon Osman * Lee Carsley * James McFadden * Victor Anichebe * Tim Howard * Thomas Gravesen Steven Pienaar (93) * Tim Cahill Victor Anichebe (76) * James Vaughan James McFadden (70) * Ayegbeni Yakubu .....is our B squad? If that's true, then where the fuck is our A squad? :eh:
  10. Cheers. Glad it's not serious. Didn't wanna see him in the team against Luton any way.
  11. It is quite deceptive how he plays, it has to be said. From watching him, he certainly doesn't like he'll be like Drogba in the next ten years, never mind the next few years.
  12. If we play AJ up front by himself then he'll be a virtual lone winger, and if we play Vaughan by himself it'll get hit long to him. At least, that's how the team has played when either have been by themselves and even with each other in a partnership.
  13. lol I was gonna post this topic. I think he'd be a good buy, and it would mean getting rid of someone like VDM (a good thing I suppose ). Also, I hope people realise that just because he's left-footed that we wouldn't necessarily just stick him out on the left. <_< Rather, he is like Mikel and can play either side, but does enjoy coming in onto his left foot. I think especially with AJ on the shoulder of the last defender and Yak having this paid into his feet, then this fella and Mikel on the pitch together would be great. Not sure on his price, though <_<
  14. Due to their poor start there have been a lot of people (on the radio, TV, in the papers etc...) who think that Utd and Arsenal are in a two horse race from what I've seen. Like I said, it doesn't make sense, but that's the impression I'm getting atm.
  15. True. Nobody seems to be taking them seriously though, which would obviously be a big mistake. I am actually quite concerned about our game against them.
  16. Any news on him yet? I've been checking the official site and nothing yet. I hope he isn't badly injured... hell, I hope he isn't injured at all. They didn't even show the bloody tackle on MotD. Wankers.
  17. *builds sound-proof walls around the forum* <_<
  18. Shouldn't be too hard if you're using MotD clips... all two minutes each week like <_<
  19. I couldn't agree more. I really wanna see Vic and Vaughan progress to become two great strikers and can't fault them as youngsters atm. However, Yakubu has scored more Prem goals than Vic right now and so he should be picked, as well as having the right mentality to play more games... whereas Vic is great coming off the bench right now. Also, we do play better football with Yak on the pitch, regardless of whether he has a partner or not. Let's continue that and stop loosing games now that we can keep the bloody ball and attack more!
  20. Aye. That seems to be how the cookie bloody well crumbles in Britain today, though.
  21. Bents goal scoring record in the Prem dwindles in comparison to Yak's, as does Beatties. Also, Beattie has managed it in the Championship... big deal. Edit: BlueBri: GoldfishMemory: Yup. Also, when you create more you need someone to put it away, which Yak is bloody good at. Can't say I think the same about the other 4.
