  1. Didn't mean to be harsh or anything, I just have a near-exact opposite opinion on the player
  2. Vaughan isn't being rushed back because that's how you end a player with his injuries' career. Bring him back gradually and at the right time and the lad will look as good as he did a couple years ago. The lad has only just turned 21, remember.
  3. I remember a game at Goodison against Man Utd when he put C. Ronaldo in his pocket. Oh what a joy to watch. I just hope a Champions League team doesn't try it on next summer <_<
  4. Possibly playing for a move, possibly playing to prove his worth. Got to love the flaky mentality of so many professional football players
  5. I think they would. Saha is willing to drop deep and get more involved with the build-up than Yak is so I could see it happening but obviously we won't know until - and if - Moyes tries them together.

Yeah, Jo hasn't plenty of time on his side. Especially since I am thinking that he will suit Arteta more.
  7. Same. I think after the initial questioning of the signing he has really come through to prove the doubters wrong and also hopefully encourage people to be a bit more positive about new signings.
  8. I wonder if it is just part of the process, for Moyes to be so publicly explicit. Like a way of attempting to hammer down what the player's agent wants and such-like.
  9. In those days? You mean seven-to-twelve years ago? He played under Moyes as well as those before DM. I wouldn't call him a simple thug, as he did have talent. But certainly I couldn't call him a legend, he didn't score enough goals or play enough football IMO.
  10. Hopefully his fitness record will now keep up with his ability, which has never been in question
  11. Well surely Pienaar will be the starter and then Gosling as a back up will come through gradually. Then if Bentley is there it only means that either Pienaar or Gosling will be unhappy which is not what we want. Just look at how Rodwell has come through because Neville couldn't play there/we don't really have a good holding player. I just think the wide right position would be over-loaded with another player there, especially when we only have Bily for the left and inferior holding midfield players plus a need for another CB.
  12. If he would have left the violence alone then maybe he would have scored more goals? I'm just of the mind that I would be inspired more by great goal-scoring from a forward rather than head-butting and the like. I suppose in times of darkness people are more desperate and, if nothing else, this article - and topic as a whole - really puts the amazing work Moyes has put in into proper context. Long live Arteta, Pienaar and the footballers of Everton FC.
  13. Hullo. Welcome to the forums!
  14. I agree. Of course he isn't the best player in the team but I've never seen him shirk a challenge or not give his best so at the very least he is a great squad player and the modern game is about squads if nothing else.
  15. Oh, okay. That's fine then. Cheers Mike. Edit: And Louis, too. You were too quick!
  16. I wish I knew! What is wrong with the memories of some Blues eh!?
  17. haha, well I never thought I'd see Johnny H. flash up on the SS site so yeah, you never know I guess.
  18. True. Also, Stoke are a team in which their forwards do a lot of running - along with the rest of the team, obviously - so it would be a good way to prove his fitness and hopefully be in a good condition by the time January rolls around. I would hope that any loan deal would include a clause which means he couldn't play against us?
  19. I am a big fan of Italian as well as always happy to see Liverpool lose so I am dead on supporting Fiore! I hope Montolivo rips Benitez' heart out the way he did Moyes'.
  20. My money is on de Guzman going to Valencia and Banega arriving on loan. Will be interesting to see how that plays out Mike qualified that for me in another thread. Turns out SA did not qualify so Stevie is staying with us! With Pienaar going nowhere, Gosling showing he is good enough to maybe even start out wide and Arteta obviously having played there I just don't see Bentley doing anything other than upset a strong part of the squad. Also, against poorer midfield and full-back players I think Ossie can do a good job - and, really, there are plenty of those in the Premiership. Not sure if he is injured or not - don't really care tbh. I can't see Jenas forcing past any of our other players, especially since he would need time to bed in. I see him as Osman without the flexibility position-wise. Then there is the fact that he would be just another player who doesn't really care about the club and that is one thing that you can't say about Leon - he plays like he loves the place, even if he isn't the best player and that is valuable to a team in this league.
  21. Oh AWESOME. Thanks for that Mike, best bit of news I've heard for ages! Also, I'd rather have Ossie than Jenas and think Leon is too good a squad member to get rid of either way. So, really. What with Pienaar, Arteta, Ossie and Gosling all able to play there (as proven) I don't think Bentley would be a good signing.
  22. Three or possibly four good signings and it could be our best transfer window. This says much of what level we're at if it is accurate. Not trying to be negative, just realistic though I suppose I haven't taken into account the players we haven't lost such as Arteta, Pienaar, Yak, Jags.
  23. Also: cover for Baines and can play as a wing-back if Davey wanted to get adventurous.
