As a 4th choice behind Duffy, in the pecking order. I'm guessing we must have already done a deal to sell either Jags or Heitinga.

Was reading the Independent in the pub at lunch time (while the wife shopped ) and this really annoyed me.
http://www.independe...on-7712319.html
Specifically James Lawton picking Rooney's second against us as third best goal of the season....watch that and Pienaar's in the same game and tell me that Rooney's is better! Bollocks. He's voting for the name.
Thats just really pissed me off as well. Jack Pitt Suarez, Dzeko, then RVP's against Liverpool. Perfect example of how kopites cant see properly through their red glasses.
They use a pic of Cisse and he's got 1 3rd choice vote and thats it. How any one can consider Suarez a contender nevermind better than Cisse's is beyond comprehension.
-
Done....with an additional choice .
Thank you

You've got his name wrong in the topic title btw: Bas Dost.
Had I put Das Bost? I'd read it as Das Boot the first time I'd looked at the article, I've got after dark dyslexia

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2139197/Bas-Dost-wanted-Everton.html
Used the forum search and Steve-E had already recommended him as a player to improve us. Now we've got Jelavic would he get in the team?
-
Ridiculous that the Suarez hit and hope even gets a mention....scored them at primary school (Colin Dry got us one from our own penalty area!).
Always think it's a bit daft that long range strikes dominate these things personally....tap in after a brilliant move, as in Pienaar's v United for example, is better than a random strike that comes off once in a blue moon for me.
Seen two liverpool fans discussing Cisses goal on fb saying its a contender to Suarez' goal, hope they were joking (but they werent)
-
Why not do something totally out of the box and give Duffy a run in the side, he looks as though he will be better than Jags anyway.
You need 4 cb'c in the prem. I'd promote Duffy to 3rd choice, and play him in cup games. Cuellar (free) for 4th choice.
-
no reason duffy can't play cos baines isn't
i'd like to see garbutt brought back for the last 2 games myself
Think Duffy would struggle to help Distin out, plus we need Jags to play and get his value up.
Was thinking that as well, but he's in the play-offs with Cheltenham.
-
I didnt mean it in a nasty way mate and yes i have been to them all except chelsea. He's played imo something like 1 in 7 games to a good enough standard to even be a starter never mind playing next to our best player just bugs me so much that he's seen as a midfielder by some people when he clearly isnt. hes out anyway by what everyone has said I want to see Ross in the middle with fellaini but I dont think moyes is going to do that.
No worries my team was just what I thought Moyes would pick. I agree Neville should never ever be put in midfield. Osman had played in the middle, and given a kid a chance on the wing. Team v Wolves I'd like to see as we've got nothing to play for we should blood in the kids:
Howard
Hibbert Jags Heitinga Distin
Gibson Fellaini
Baxter Barkley Pienaar
Jelavic
Subs: Browning, Silva and Vellios
Pity Baines is injured otherwise Duffy should be giving another taster.

Cisse for me, quality, stunned me it was that good. Crouch caught the ball sweet as a nut, but most note worthy strikers will have scored a few of them in training. Whereas Cisse's was an absolute peach of a goal, caught everyone out.
Ten, could you please add a poll to this thread.
-
Annoys me that nearly every year 7th has been enough to qualify, but never when we finish there.
-
Surely the box to box thing is what we want Barkley for, he is supposed to be the new Gerrard after all, if we get Diame or another ahead of him, i would'nt hold any grudges against him if he asked his agent to get him out of EFC
Hope Barkley is further forward playing a Scholes type of positions/role.
-
listen he hasnt been as poor as usual but ffs he isnt a midfielder do you go the matches its a must win this game.
I hate Neville in midfield, I though he was rested with the games being so close and he'd be fresh for this one and back in the team(with him being a Moyes' favourite an all). No need to be an arse hole though, I haven't been many matches but neither have you or you'd have seen him playing in midfield against Fulham and Utd.
-
If Fellaini goes, Diame would be a good option. Gibson as the holding midfielder with Diame as the box-to-box. He'd be suited more for the role Felli plays when pushed further up the field. But knowing Moyes, Diame would probs play LB as Baines' replacement.

The sports writers were inclined to big Redknapp up as it would have made all there jobs easier writing about the cockney wideboy 'arry.
Why is he more appropriate? How is he better equipped? Hodgson has international experience as well as more success at club level.
-
Apparently Barkley and Baxter both done well in the reserves y'day, both scored in their last game of the season winning 2-0 at Arsenal. Maybe see a few of the lads rewarded with half a game or 2
-
Free so possible, good player but we are already packed in the midfield. Last time I watched a Wigan game he was one of the stand out players, reminded me a bit of Song. We don't need him, can see Arsenal taking him as a back-up player.
-
Most people who bother with these stories or take an interest in the national team even, were genuinely disappointed that Redknapp was overlooked and Hodgson got the vote instead, I can kind of appreciate that, the FA did a similar thing in 1977 was it, when instead of bringing in Brian Clough after Revie fucked off to the United Arab Emirates, they decided to go with Ron Greenwood instead - bizarre. Nottingham Forest's gain was England's loss.
As I've already stated above there is only a 1% difference in the Mirror's poll: Redknapp 41%, to Roys 40%. Considering the paper was pushing towards Redknapp, plus not many kopites would have picked Roy(I'd hazard a guess 10% are bitter Liverpool fans), makes me believe Roy would walk it if it was a fair contest media attention wise.

Agreed I have always like Yobo! Maybe he was a bit thick though for the premier league
With Heitinga next to him to keep his concentration up rather than Jags I think he would have had a better pairing than Rio and Vidic.

Pah...8 million
I am very good freinds with the cheif executive of Burnley Football Club and we were discussing him last week and he told me how much Burnley would let him go for due to finances etc and that 8 million is way off the mark. He told me a funny story once about David Moyes and as we all know he was scouting Chris Eagles for about 2 years and one January DM rang up my mate and said how willing are you to let him go, and how much are you looking for, my mate told David that they were reluctant to let him go as it was there first season in the premier league etc etc but around the 5 million mark would probably get accepted by the chairman.. So anyway a few days later David comes back with an offer of £500,000 haha only Everton and only Moyes.
TBF they didnt sell him for much more after he got the experience. So you think higher or lower than 8?
-
Should we of sold him at the time do you think?, Jags has only really had one great season hasnt he?
Always preferred Yobo, contrary to popular belief he didnt make as many mistakes as Jags. Sell Jags buy Dempsey is a no brainer, hopefully have a little left over to pay the banks and keep Fellaini; triple win!... one problem though, Arsenal mightnt want him anymore.
-
As long as they still use the vids and it's only used as a compliment to show the stats, such as how often they cut in from a certain angle ect. It's no big advancement really, just gives a broader set of data as obviously Moyes and the players cant watch every game.
-
Nacer Chadli, he'll do nicely. Right age, quick, good feet, can take a set-piece too.
Had to google him then, recognised the name, but was thinking if the small stocky strikers for one of the Russian clubs in the Europa.
They squeezed Fulham for over £10 mil for Ruiz, how much would Chadli go for, £6?

He's been bigged up because he was England's best centre half at one point, but that's more a reflection on how average the England squad really is. People laughed at the £12 mil Arsenal offered, I'd bite their hand off for £10 mil now, still be happy with £8 mil. If he was foreign he wouldnt be worth no more than £5.
