  1. SUarez did the same thing to Kev last time! Kev was out for weeks!

Yeah, that was when Kev was tearing them a new one too, so a bit of retribution there - if anyone deserves it it's that dirty bastard!

He stamped down on Distins achilles when the ball was nowhere in the same game too if I recall.

  2. Osman out wide looking at that? Would rather have seen Gerard with maybe Kone coming on for him later if he flagged, but happy with the team other than that.

Disappointed Remy made it for them though, he's dangerous.

  3.

"South of the river" in quotation marks doesn't literally mean south of the river DK. Obviously means that although technically north of the river Fulham is still very much south London. But you knew that.

Fulham isn't South London or North London, it's proper West London!

As for Escla, I was a member in the mid 90's when I was a teenager & thinking of joining again myself, as I'd like to start going to more games again. I managed to get tickets to Fulham tonight quite easily myself, but couldn't get any for West Ham on Saturday, so maybe being in Escla would have helped. Also nice to have people to go up with for the occasional home game :)

  4. Just got in from the game. I'm not up to a Romey style player-by-player analysis, but I thought I'd share a few observations:

Robles - his distribution was terrible in the first 30 mins or so (then he stopped trying to be clever), and it looked to me like he should have done better for their second goal (but it was quite far away so I couldn't see too well!) Other than that he didn't really have much to do.

Stones - looked solid. I don't remember him doing too much wrong, and I remember one great pass he pinged out to Oviedo on the left. I think he's going to be a good player for us, will definitely be able to step up when (if?!) Distin retires.

Oviedo - I really want to like Bryan, but he just seemed a bit scared to run with the ball whenever he got it, even if he had space, and just seemed to pass it backwards. I was particularly disappointed in injury time when a Fulham player over-ran it on the right & I thought Oviedo would easily get it & get the ball back up their end again, but he just seemed to run over the ball & off the pitch & let the Fulham player go on!

Deulofeu - Looked like a world beater in the first half, but during the second he just seemed to run out of ideas when he got surrounded, plus he is really selfish. I do think he will get better as the season goes on & be class for us though.

Naismith - Again, I want to like him and I've refrained from slagging him off, but.....I don't want to compare him to Cahill (because I loved Tim & think he's a legend), but he reminds me of a rubbish version of him, in that he tries really hard and pops up with goals(albeit not so many), but contributes little else to the team.

Lukaku - I took my girlfriend to her first game tonight & before the match I told her he was "awesome". She doesn't know much about football, but she doesn't agree! I was disappointed tbh - I expected him to beast Fulham, but though he was strong on the ball, I thought his first touch was generally poor & he didn't have a great game. Considering how he changed the game at West Ham I'm hoping that's a one off though, and I'd like to see him start at Newcastle (I know he came off the bench a lot for West Brom last year, so hopefully he's not only effective from the bench....?).

I thought the subs were a bit weird - I can see why Barry came on for Gibson, but as we were chasing the game & crying out for some creativity in midfield I would have thought that instead of Jags for Heitinga & going 3 at the back we would have been better off just bringing on Barkley to play behind Lukaku with Barry & McCarthy sitting. I think it goes without saying that Mirallas should have been on for Naismith much earlier than he was too.

Ah well, I don't get to see many games live, so I still had a decent evening out. Proud to sit in the completely full away end & look at the thousands of empty seats in the home sections of the ground too. Best fans in the league!

  5.

Ossie is almost certainly missing, isnt he?

    .....................Joel .....................
    Stones Jags ... Heitinga Oviedo
    .... ...McCarthy ... Barry..............
    Kone ... Barkley .... Deul
    .................Lukaku.......................
    That for me

I was just going to post exactly the same team! Looking forward to seeing Lukaku & Deulofeu (assuming they both start).

I'm going tonight - tried and failed to get tickets for West Ham, which obviously turned out to be a great game, so hoping for something like that later!

Edit: Actually, I'd have Gibson starting instead of Barry I think. Give him a good 60 mins to get some fitness.

  6. What Peter said.

Fancy a win. Confidence should be high. Only issue may be that we'll go into the game expecting to win, which won't be the case at all.

I think it'll be a tough, physical game. I expect Lukaku to start and Deulofeu to get more minutes under his belt.

The fact that RM pushed Mirallas up top on his own vs Chelsea. I fancy a similar thing to happen come the end of the game, but for a Mirallas, Lukaku and Deulofeu pushing high up top.

Ending with a 5-2-3 and a front three of KM, NJ and GD to finish.

    To start:

    Howard

    Coleman - Jagielka - Distin - Baines

    Barry

    Barkley - Osman

    Naismith --------------- Mirallas

    Lukaku

    70 mins

    Howard

    Coleman - Jagielka - Distin - Baines

    McCarthy ---Barry

    Barkley

    Deulofeu - Lukaku - Mirallas

    End of game:

    Howard

    Stones - Jagielka - Distin

    Coleman ------------------------ Baines

    McCarthy ---Barry

    Deulofeu

    Jelavic - Mirallas

I like the look of this (though I would prefer McCarthy just to start with Barry), will be impressed if that's how it pans out!

I'm expecting a win too (we always seem to do well against West Ham), though for some reason I don't think we will keep a clean sheet, despite our last 3 defensive performances & West Ham's poor attack.....I can just see that horrible bastard Nolan scoring a rubbish, scrappy goal! I'm going to say 1-3, Mirallas, Barkley & Deulofeu for us.

Tried to get tickets for this, but they were all sold out by the time they came on general sale :(

Probably for the best though tbh - always seems to be 0-0 when I go!

  7. There should be retrospectful punishment for shit like that. It's just another form of cheating.

Well, it went unpunished by the ref at the time, so I think technically I suppose it could be looked at and action taken. It won't, but it could (and should imo, especially if Mirallas is out for a while now).

What about Gerrard's tackle on Gary Naismith and ''Kung Foo Dirk Kuyt's" assault from behind? That club has previous....... sneaky fookers them all............

    This one....

.....I honestly don't know who I think is more of a cunt, Suarez or Gerrard
