  1. Some people value their privacy more than others and there are more advantages a to a VPN then hiding your browser history. Iuse the net a lot, I have legit Netflix and a VPN let's me get access to shows that are restricted to the US only. Most people are luddites though or are brainwashed to follow the narrative "if you've nothing to hide"

Off topic, but what VPN do you use/recommend Paul?

  2. I actually go snowboarding in Slovakia most winters & stay in Liptovsky Mikulas, which is just down the road. Shame this game isn't in the winter as that might actually have been one of the easier away matches for me! (not that I imagine I could get a ticket anyway)

  3. Got to our seats this morning (window and middle) to see the Dutch woman in the aisle seat had a baby on her lap; always a bit worrying but the kid was perfect the whole flight (dropped off to sleep after a breast feed). The woman, however, had absolutely horrible BO and I was stuck next to her . Short flight fortunately.

Haha, I had that on the 14 hour leg of a flight to Australia! (sitting next to someone with horrendous BO that is, not a baby, although I was moved to that seat from the bulkhead seat I'd actually booked because a baby needed to be there for the bassinet  )

  4. He can go for me. He'll probably end up being class, but I don't think he's as good as he thinks he is and I don't think we really need a ball playing centre half at the moment, just someone who can defend and doesn't just fuck off on flights of fancy every now and then! Van Dijk would be good, or Bonucci(!) as he's supposedly City's back up option to Stones, but I'm not sure either would come.

The price has definitely increased from £50 million since last year for me though! £75 mill should do it ;)

  5.

Recent strategy has clearly been to build a lasting legacy by bringing in a wealth of young talent. Some will make it, and some will not, but it's a good, solid, long-term strategy that allows Everton to compete according to its own rules. If we succumb to the approach taken by others - overspend on prima donnas with a "big name" - we'll end up mid-table. It would be such a shame if we throw that out in the hope of buying instant success - which very rarely happens.

I don't think Mata can really be classed as a prima donna to be fair - seems very quiet and hard working, and is apparently a very nice chap (missus has met him a couple of times)!

Also if it's £21 million as is being mentioned, that's not really overspending either to my mind - he's absolute class and in his prime. Fellaini was £27 million!

  6. I'm a bit of a tree hugger so I voted Green. They have no chance of getting in though, so I had Khan as my second choice and hope he gets in over Goldsmith (I think he will).

Thank Christ it's Johnson's last day - I can't believe people actually voted for him to have a second term!! If he becomes Prime Minister I might have to seriously consider leaving the country. Can you imagine that AND Trump as president?!

  7. Like most people I'd rather see Barry dropped & Barkley next to Besic, and Lukaku & Kone maybe swapping positions between the right & up front during the game as someone mentioned earlier.

  8. Ironically, it can help the teams around us if it did happen. Retrospective is great, if it doesn't directly affect the outcome of the game in which the action/offence takes place.

Maybe they should retrospecively remove any goals (or goals from assists) that that player scores after he should have been sent off then!

Unworkable in reality, but it's a nice thought at the moment.

  9. Well, as you say this (3 year old!) discussion is in danger of going off track, and an Everton forum probably isn't the best place for it, but keeping it short, of course terrible things have been done by atheists, but I think it's fair to say that you'd struggle to point to any atrocities from history committed in the name of atheism. And I think it would also be fair to say that you can't say the same about religion.

Also, I have read a lot of history thank you, and that is exactly what happened to Galileo...no real need for condescension there :)
