  1. Don't really think Fabregas has been Fabregas class this season. Sagna and Van Persie I'd agree are close calls. Nobody really stood out this season at RB but Carr/Sagna were the two best, and there's a wealth of players vying for the forward positions, including RVP.
  2. There's been a flurry of footballing awards and best XI's recently with plenty of controversy, but who would make YOUR best XI for the season? No rules besides they must have made a PL appearance this season and players must be arranged in a valid football formation. Mine: ----------------- Van Der Sar (United) ------------------ Carr (Brum) -- Vidic (United) -- Kompany (City) -- Baines (Us!) Nani (United) -- Parker (WHU) -- Modric (Spurs) -- Bale (Spurs) ---------------- Bent (Villa) -- Tevez (City) -------- Happily not a redshite player in sight!

    Hello

England's a bit shite..... Ah only joking lads, quite a nice place altogether.
  4. FT: 4-0. Everton 6 points clear at the top with 1 game (vs. Leeds) to play. Liverpool have 3 games left to play (vs. Sheff Utd. and Wolves H+A) but have a clear advantage on goal difference.
  5. 4-0 - Forrester from an incredible Garbutt run. Garbutt drove from centre-midfield past the Liverpool defence to center it for Forrester to smash home for Garbutt's 3rd assist.
  6. Hallam Hope reminds me more than a little of Vaughany. And not in a bad way.
  7. Garbutt playing really well. Some great deliveries. Linky for those of us who aren't inflicted with LFCTV on our EPGs http://veetle.com/index.php/channel/view#4db38b8d5b89e
  8. They're more than a bit shite I'm sure they'd like to though, increased TV revenues and exposure as well as a quality of opposition only the teams who qualify for Europe get to test themselves against.
  9. Now there's a decent idea. Extra EL place would increase competition in the PL, the League Cup is given an interesting 'Battle of Britain' edge, Scottish teams benefit from the extra TV coverage and the better competition and viewers get something different. I'd support it.
  10. As title (EDIT: Should probably specify that it's to celebrate his birthday - Happy Birthday Gaffer ) Mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8V-0tEM-SR0
  11. Rodwell was v. good against Blackburn last week. Far more experienced players than him have played worse against United this season and even in that match. He's a class act and selling him would be daft. If Moyes truly has control over the playing staff then he won't sell him unless he has at least 2 signings lined up.

    Man Utd

Fergie has the referees at OT so bought that now they're openly playing for United

2 Evertonians up front for United trying to beat us. One played for Liverpool, the other balled his eyes out wanting to leave us. We should probably invest in loyalty classes for our kids.....

    Man Utd

Jagielka easily MoM so far. Great performance from him. We're playing alright but we miss Arteta and Fellaini in games like these so badly.

    Man Utd

That would've been a United penalty, nailed on. Not a chance in hell of an away team being given that at OT though
  19. Both clubs originally have ties to Methodism. You can find evidence on both sides for either being 'traditionally' one or the other but the evidence is always tenuous at best. There is no Catholic or Protestant split these days between Everton/Liverpool, however. Liverpool has a huge Irish Catholic community and both clubs enjoy support from both denominations. Usually Everton and Liverpool fans would have been friendlier with Celtic than with Rangers though in Everton's case this has ceased to even be a talking point anymore. Liverpool probably have closer ties with Celtic these days owing to them having far more fans than in Ireland (clearly evidenced through their singing of YNWA and the Fields (of Athenry/Anfield Road)). The best argument against any latent sectarian split between Everton and Liverpool is the far clearer and more famous intra-familial split. It's kind of impossible for there to be any sectarian split if support is split within families of the same religion, isn't it?
  20. No doubt here - Ossie. Special mention for Rodwell though. I thought he was brilliant when he came on. Everyone played well IMO. Back to back wins and clean sheets. Sorted. Bring on United.
  21. Good lad Seamus. Nicely taken by Bainsey.
  22. Jack Rodwell has been quality since he came on.
