  1. Inevitable. Thought there were times last season when things were looking really good under him, but then again we stuffed Guardiola's City 4-0 under Koeman. Hindsight confirms the worries when he arrived - just not of the right pedigree for where we want to be. The bigger picture is that is now four managerial sackings in three years since Moshiri took over, and this of all of them reflects the worst on his decision making. He can't afford any more cock ups, the Prem is a brutal league and if we don't get some stability and direction we'll end up in the Championship.
  2. This is Everton mate. Who knows what the fuck is going on.
  3. And the real twist in that tale would be we get relegated and he gets to do all that work in the Championship!
  4. Form, not good enough, wrong system, whatever - the best we can hope for from a new manager coming in with these players is he lifts their confidence and organises then enough to steer us to safety. If we stick with the likes of Keane, Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin and Tosun, we will keep going nowhere. That's four players need replacing outright, plus adding depth elsewhere. That's still a lot of work to do on the squad whoever comes in.
  5. Or Farhad is planning to deliver a good old fashioned owner's pep talk, inspiring them to victory on Saturday and everything will be fine and dandy...
  6. I swore. Nearly as badly as I swore about Keane's non attempt at defending the first goal.
  7. Dunno why I bother but here goes... I wasn't comparing DCL to Niasse, I was comparing him Tosun to Niasse. Less goals, less impact, another 20 odd million spunked up the wall. If you don't think our lack of goals from our strikers is a problem then I'm not even going to bother debating it with you because it's a glaring issue. We played 3 CBs on Sunday and last night, we're an injury away from having to play Keane again every game. Thats guaranteed dropped points, a direct result of having no squad depth in the position. Davies and Gana... Pffff. I like Davies, but he isn't close to being Gana's level. Not as mobile, doesn't read the game as well. Different player altogether for me, Davies at his best is a creative 6, maybe even an 8 with the right players around him. Gana is a superb destroyer and cover for the back 4. It's not just that we miss him, it's that we're stuck playing Sigurdsson in midfield who is just a disgrace, and even Silva realises how shite Schneiderlin is because he'd rather play Sigurdsson over him. Again, all down to no depth, no options, having to play poor and rank out of form players
  8. There is nothing fine about a squad with just three CBs to pick from and three CFs that include two kids who can't buy a goal and a complete waste of money who has a worse goals to games ration than Niasse. Even in midfield, yeah we have three players injured - but look at a Liverpool or Man City, they have an embarrassment of riches to cover the 3 key positions in the centre, they can rotate, they can handle injuries. We still don't know what Gana's replacement is like and take out Gomes as well, and we're absolutely fucked. That is not a 'fine' squad. Not for £450m fucking quid.
  9. Given how dreadful Keane has been the failure to replace Zouma stands out as the icing on another very poor transfer window. Who was that on? Brands? I just can't get my head round a PL team going into the season with three senior centre backs. More I think about it, more I worry that something is very wrong in how the club is being run.
  10. But Fatty was never a long term vision. He worked with Walsh to bring Walcott and Tosun in, another £50m that now warms the bench. Yeah we have to steel ourselves get up the table this season but we're desperate for a longer term vision, otherwise we will end up going down at some point
  11. Glad you can be optimistic mate! Think we lack quality all over myself, glaringly so. And also the right characters. Need a new manager to fire up what we do have first then sort squad out. Keane, Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin, Tosun just have to go for me, better versions of all four and we'll look a different side
  12. There's nowhere near enough of those good players though. Nowhere near And by the way apart from being hard working I'm hugely disappointed with Iwobi.
  13. Agree. First we need to find that manager. Then we need to spend some more money on players who fit the bill.
  14. Disagree. We're in a fucking mess because there's no coherent plan about how to build a winning side. It's buy a load of players that don't really work together, sack the manager when it goes wrong, rinse and repeat. We need someone who will come in, stamp some authority on the entire club, pick the players up off the floor, ditch the dead wood even if it means sending £30m players to the U23s, and demand they get given the tools they need in terms of players to do what they want to do on the pitch.
  15. No strikers and no defenders, but apart from that the squad is fine!
  16. Henry has just summed it up for me. Where's the philosophy, the vision? Not with the team, but with the club? Moshiri has come in, thrown cash around, chopped and changed, expected things to work without a coherent plan. Silva was a mistake and also a victim of this. He has to go, but whoever comes in has got such a pile of shit to clean up before we even try to move forward because the squad is in such an absolute mess after three or four years of dreadful mismanagement.
  17. I can't understand any Evertonian trying to make the argument that we have anything like a good enough squad to compete in the league. You probably have to go back to when Smith signed Ginola and Gazza to find a worse group of players turning out for us.
  18. I honestly don't know where we go from here. We are playing footballers who were fucking terrible two years ago when Koeman got sacked - guess what, theyre still shit, we've just been stuffed 5-2 and dropped into the bottom 3, deja vu... Silva has to go because we desperately need to get a motivator, an organiser, a man manager in who will instill some confidence in these players, they are absolutely shot. We're playing like a team walking straight into relegation - yes there's some pluck, but the mistakes are woeful and are killing us. But a new manager will be the sticking plaster. I am so worried about what is going on behind the scenes at this club. We seem utterly directionless, we're bottom 3 because this is a woeful group of players put together for £450m fucking quid, there seems to be no plan, no identity, no leadership. This is the Johnson era all over again with a rich sugar daddy who doesn't know what he's doing with his money.
  19. He shouldn't hat played a back 5. And I have no idea how Keane wasn't subbed
  20. Liverpool play a very different system to Leicester. I thought playing a 5 tonight was incredibly naive but still nothing can account for how fucking awful Keane has been
  21. Silva has gone. How that sub wasn't Keane I have no idea
  22. I don't care. Popping up with the odd goal doesn't make up for the fact that Keane is an absolute abomination of a defender
  23. More I think about it the more I reckon we might as well go toe to toe with them, 4-3-3 and attacking. Got nothing to lose. Plus, best way to stop them is push their full backs back and out play them in midfield. I don't see the formation we played at Leicester working against them. 5 at the back would leave Salah, Firminho and Mane going one to one with our three CBs and the quality of the delivery from their full backs means our full backs would practically have to go man to man to deny them any space. Plus, leaving a two man centre mid vs their 3, they'd just get over run. I think the best way to pin their full backs back is to play a high, narrow front 3, I'd go Richarlison, DCL and Kean. Go long, Alexander-Arnold will leave space all game, Robertson will have to drop back to help their CBs. I'd play a reasonably attacking 3 in midfield, too - Davies, Sigurdsson, Iwobi/Bernard, aim being to pick up balls in the spaces and play round their 3, which is a lot easier without Fabinho. Sidibe and Digne play like old fashioned full backs, ie a proper back 4 to counter their front 3. We might still get murdered but I don't see we've got the players to stop them any other way.
  24. Nostalgia is a great thing. The reality of the 90s was that we were run by a prick who appointed shite managers (including Kendall once the drink had taken its toll) and apart from Royle and the Dogs of War, we put out teams season after season that underachieved coz there were too many players who didn't have that winning mentality. Between about 96 and 99, I actually think we regularly had better squads on paper than we have now, but it was a car crash.
  25. The stuff about sweating blood for the club and putting his life on the line ticks a lot of Toffees fans boxes. We need a lot more of that. If he could see his way to standing up to a few more challenges from centre backs he might end up making a decent CF!
