The trouble with Cahill is that although he is good for a midfielder at scoring goals he doesn't contribute enough in other ways. Although he scores goals, he doesn't score the same as a dedicated striker. He doesn't have the creativity or brute force to be a top midfielder either. I'm afraid he is a bit of luxury. I want the strikers to score the goals and the midfielders to create them. Good player but not good enough.

Its not that he bought a lambo at all. Its more the fact that he isn't earning his money and that decent profesional would be too self concious to purchase something like that when he's not contributing AT ALL! Anyone one else concerned? I'm mean really concerned? How many games since either them have scored? There are no excuses - its a really expensive strike force! What is going wrong?

If he's not a Toffee I don't really blame someone going somewhere for more money. I would! And Newcastle have had more European action over the last couple of years than we have remember. I really don't see him as the type of money-grabber. Seems a decent guy to me.

With Newcastle in disarray should we try and tempt Scotty Parker away from the barcodes? Was sorry he didn't join the first time around - great little player and would be the perfect replacement for Carsley.

We are doing great at the moment and I'm thrilled but people should slow down and really analyse that we still have a lot of work to do: 1. We have no plan B 2. We have no natual, dynamic holding player (Carsley is effective but a bit limited) 3. We lack pace and width on the wings 4. If AJ get's injured, what then? With Beattie we result to poor long ball football. 5. We only have a loanee goal keeper (heaven help us when he returns to Manure) 6. We have a very small squad 7. Victor A and James V apart, nothing seems to knocking at the door from the academy We really are getting there but we still need quite a few more players next summer! Would be more comfortable if Nugent and Appiah came at Christmas!

He's better and younger than Carrick so surely should go for more? I'd hate to see him go but for £20m I'd be tempted. I can't see anyone bidding that much for him though. I would imagine Spurs/ManU would bid more than £6/7m (that's still a 300% profit). I think I'd rather keep him though - who do you replace him with? Flair players are a bit of a gamble and he is proven in the team. Why can't we find another like him? We are a bit of a one man team - we suck when he doesn't play! He only cost us £2m - what a great spot by Moyes. Don't foget that when Gravesen left he had to find someone pretty quickly.

I think a number of times over the last season we were physically over powered - especially in the midfield department. I think we need a powerful player who can mix it as we are quite lightweight. Would love someone like Diop join us. What do you think?

I certainly think thats not far fro Tottenham standard and is better all round team than the Shite (although the Gerrard factor still puts them ahead unfortunately).

People on here often talk about how strong our midfield is. I think though that Cahill hasn't been good enough this year. If he isn't contributing goals then his all round play isn't good enough. For me anyway if he isn't socring goals we are carrying him a bit. I know he get's round the park well but that's not really enough. Wish we had 4 Arteta's...

We are really lacking pace in our side so I've tried to concentrate on that - what do you think? Jermone Thomas - Charlton. Fast and very skilfull young winger. Seen him a few times - very good and young! Jermaine Penant - Birmingham. Bit of a trouble maker but fast, great crosser of the ball and works hard on the wing. Always eats us alive. Juilan Gray - Birmingham. Fast and skilfull. Caused us quite a few problems last year. Could fill the troublesome left back spot and can also play in midfield. Arturo Lupoli - Arsenal. Forward. Good finisher. Possible loan deal? Thomas Gravesen - Real Madrid. The Liverpool game highlighted our lack of technically gifted players. Tommy G would bring back something to the team. Jermaine Defoe - something is going at Totteham with him? Lets make a bid before anyone else does. £7m should secure his services. Class. Ok, a few Arsenal rejects there but that doesn't make them bad players!
