  1. Howard Jags Lescott Yobo ?1 Arteta ?2 ?3 ?4 Johnson Vaughan ?1 - Valente or perhaps Baines ?2 - probably Carsley but would like to see someone like Stephen Appiah ?3 - not sure what is happening with Fernades? Possibly Timmy Cahill ?4 - god knows! Someone with some pace please! Damien Duff anyone? For me there are only 7 players that pick themselves. We are quite weak in midfield (I'm sorry I'm just not a huge TC fan).
  2. Bite your hand off for £5m! Wouldn't flinch at £8m to be honest.
  3. How much do you think he would cost? Absolute quality. He's going to be an England regular.
  4. Straight swap for Tevez and Reo-coker. Done deal. When I say done deal... I mean I would do a deal on that. Not that a deal had already been done!
  5. I've heard a few rumours that we are interested in an exchange for dean Ashton. £2m + James Beattie. Personally, I'd snap their hands off for that. Apparently, Ashton wants to come back up and north and Beattie wants to go down south so makes sense. Would be a great deal.
  6. If the boy is that good why is being loaned out and touted for being sold? This is the 2nd year he is being loaned and might be coming to us for another year. We wouldn't loan Arteta out! Benfica are a big club they won't be desperate for the money.
  7. In silly season we get linked to everyone. However a lot of the players we are linked to we just don't need. I'd love to have them here but there are more pressing ways of using our limited funds. Nugent - we have 3 strikers in AJ, Vaughan and Anichebe hat can do a job. Another would be nice (I've lost all hope in Beattie) but do we need another one for £6-7m? No. Fernandes - great skill, takes some pressure of Arteta but we need width and a ball winning midfielder a la Parker or Barton. Baines - how many left backs do we have? Ok, none of them are amazing (Lescott aside), but we have plenty of LB's. We do need... Centre back cover A left winger A ball winning midfielder
  8. Would love him here. We are desperately short of pace and width. Moysesy reckons we should get the pick of the players that are struggling to get in the top 4. Well, Tottenham have Aaron Lennon and Bolton are a shit heap. Must be in for a chance? We can offer Europe, a first 11 position and can probably get to his transfer fee (somewhere around 10 million?). Thoughts?
  9. We shouldn't paying the full get out clause. He is pretty much being sacked by city. £2-3m is about right.
  10. I think you are right. Berbatov was about £10m wasn't he? I agree the money should be invested elsewhere first. A proper winger would be nice for a start!
  11. The papers are saying Nugent for £8m. Darren Bent might be a better and safer buy at £10m - what do you think?
  12. Don't forget James McFadden looked very special when playing in Scotland...
  13. As a southern based (and hence non season ticket holder) how will I be able to get hold of tickets for our European games (away and at home)?
  14. I have to say I really want him here. I've seen him quite a few times doing interviews and was on Soccer AM a while back. I thought he came across really well. Good sense of humour and desperate to do well with his football. He really wants to win and he is very down to earth. We don't have a single player that can be nasty or really drive the team. When we were getting pissed on by Man U we could have really done with a bit of passion and a few hard tackle's in midfield. Carsley is good at mopping things up but he can't grab the game by the scruff of its neck and really influence it. I don't think Barton is a horrid little shite like Anelka, Hadj Diouf or Bellamy, I really don't. Don't forget the press always put a slant on things. In the absence of our technical ability I suppose though one of our main strengths is team spirit. This could be a risk though with Barton. Having said that, if Barton see's our effort he may not be so frustrated.
  15. As I'm in a constructive mood... I can't believe how rubbish he is. He decision making is awful, he can't pass, can't shoot and he has the body strength of a 5 year old (a weak one).
  16. http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2060526,00.html Not sure I believe the article considering the purchase of Pip and Tim.
  17. Spelling on this forum is terrible!! Its "allowed" not "aloud".
  18. Bouhlarouz - you are joking. He's shite. That Bochengra seems to be a reasonable player and seems to score quite a few goals. Not in the same league as Joleen though! I'd love to see Joey Barton here alongside Fernadez & Arteta - how good would that be. Duff for the left wing would be nice although I'm fed up with injury prone players! Or perhaps we could clone Arteta 11 times?
  19. I'm really surprised how good he is coming forwards! He plays some lovely balls (the one to Carsley against Fulham last night was Aretea-esque) and he regularly seems to beat a player. Love him, quality.
  20. Simple question - who would you prefer?
  21. Absolutely we do! When players think they have won the match and start to take their foot off the pedal we need a Roy Keane to drive them forward. When we are getting overrun in midfield we also need some real physical presence. I think Davey know this - thus the Barton enquiry. Lescott was excellent (again) yesterday. Thought Joey Y was a bit shaky.
  22. Vaughan man of the match? WTF? The boy works hard and is a real nuisance but at the moment there is very little end product to his game. There is no composure on the ball, his shooting is terrible and makes lots of mistakes. Ok, he is 18 and in only his second match.... Osman - god help us. Get rid. Absolute shite.
  23. Absolutely agree RoughRob. In an ideal world you would keep him - but we have to be looking to becoming more offensive. If Nugent comes to partner AJ - who do you drop from the midfield? We would a holding midfielder i.e. neville and he can't play left wing. So do you drop Arteta or Fernandez? Do you heck! We need 4 Arteta's!!
