  1. Some good odds available on this

    -

Everton to kick it 1-0 1/12

Beattie 8/1 first goal scorer - striker at home who taken pens - good odds.

Arsenal left back not available - Arteta at 1/22 . Might draw one or two free kicks

  2. He couldn't settle in Sunderland as he was basically commuting there.

I don't think his heart was in moving there at all - He knows Everton, the Manager, the set up, the player (most). No settleing in period - I bet he is cockahoop about coming back.

He is not the same player in a Sunderland shirt as he is in an Everton shirt. He will be playing to make sure he can be at Goodison more than 6 months.

Ferrari showing good form and wanting to stay at centre back is probabley another reason Kroldroup left.

Still wish Yobo was not in the African Cup though, player of the season for me so far, and will be missed, whoever plays at CB.

  3. He is only a boy of 16 - the only place he will be loaned back to is Southampton. The main reasons for loaning him back is -

    1. Its part of the transfer deal

    2. because he may need time to adjust to moving to London - family and all that.

It is nothing to do with football really - so forget him coming to the North West

  4. Don't think that is the case at all.

Bent has done bugger all this season - so it would be madness to turn down £2.5M for him. Charltons offer made it impossible to turn down.

Kroldroup is going becasue he can't cut it in the UK and Prem. Good he is going now if this is the case.

Quality player don't yet see Everton as a great destination. We have to offer stupid money to compeate with Newcastle's, Spurs and even Middlesbroughs. (Not even mentioning the top four).

So we have to compeate with the rest of the teams in the Prem for the best of the players that the bigger teams don't want. It is very competative in our section of the market for players.

  5. Expect Alan Subbs's return within the week.

If Kroldroup can't get his head around being in the UK are Prem football then it's best all around and we move on - I expect he will be sold for and undisclosed fee (£3-4M my guess).

You make on some (Bent) and lose on others. Swings and roundabouts as they say.

Every transfer is a risk - out of all Moyes's buys at present I would only class Wright and Kroldroup as real flops. For every Yobo you get a Kroldroup, for every Alonso you get a Cisse, for every Rossi you have a Forlan and for every Lampard you get a Crespo and for every Shearer you get a Robert, a Luque, a Bramble and a Boumsong

I think a return of two out of three good buys if as good as return as you could hope for.

I am not going to lose any sleep over losing £1.5M on a player as some clubs lose a whole load more than that on players. Yes, a bit embaressing for Moyes, but at least they are holding hands up and getting rid.

  6. I really can't see 'silly money' Moyes parting with £1.2M for a player who has only played 6 months of First divison football, played most of his football in second division, is 29 and has no pace.

He only put in a £1.5M for Earnshaw who has three hot Championship year, and 14 goals in a Prem season.

Just can't see that sort of money being paid. But the player is WORTH that to SWANSEA - as he could be the difference between Championship and first divison football to them next season.

  7. I read in the paper that Man City have offerd him half his wages (£18,000 week offer to play next season)

Now with him out of contract in the summer any fee this January is going to be nominal -

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/shared/bsp/hi...owler_14793.stm

Now I have just looked at his stats and I am suprised that his goal/game ratio for Man City over the two and half years is about 1 in 3. With his career ratio near 1 in 2.

Now if we are talking a fee of less than £1M and wages less than £20,000 - I am of the opinion that given our current striking option - he may not be a bad player to bring in to the squad - if you can get past the Liverpool cast off part of the deal.

I would imagine to a certain extent that a move for Fowler to the blue side of Merseyside could give him the drive to have one last hurrah in prem football.

Another risk in buying him, but given the current market could be an viable option.

If we really have been looking at the likes of Jansen and Dickov, then maybe Fowler isn't that bad an option.

  8. totally agree rob..however he has only played on game for the club so a few games under his belt and his overall life may improve!!

lets hope so because he looked shit hot against undinese in the friendly

he wont be goin in jan...no cover, unless richard gough wants to put his boots back on :D

difficult one - do you cut your losses on a player that may struggle at Prem (I think more down to personnal issues than football) If he is poor on the pitch for us then will his value go down.

Then again - if he start playing regular - he may just start to feel more settled personnal issues go out of the door - and he becomes a legend.

You just can't underestimate the impact of feeling depressed for want of a better word.

  9. we have had pacey strikers in the past, bent was, radzinski was...

both caused problems so what we need now is a striker who poseses something both didnt have...the ability to put the ball in the back of the net.

AJ would be the best option but 10 million pound is far too much, 4.5 tops

Havnt seen much of nugent...not a pacey striker is he? looks a decent player though, worth a gamble

    Earnshaw - not thanks :)

Some cheap world class brazilian who has supported Everton since he was a wee lad would do right abot now :)

Nugent is pacey from all accounts - but not as pacey or as powerful as Jerome Cameron (sorry to keep going on about him)

  10. I have voted Yes as basically we HAVE to bring in another striker.

We may just have to up the bids on some of the player we have been in for.

I am sure WBA will part with Earnshaw for £2.5M- to be honest a £1.5M offer is taking the piss of WBA to be honest.

I can see Moyes is only really thinking of him as a stop gap until the summer - but clubs aren't going to give players away.

  11. Yeah, I think Earnshaw is a better goal scorer than Bent - but maybe not a better player.

I think that has been Robson's main problem with him. His overall play and controbution. I know a few Cardiff City fans (as I live in South Wales) and they always said he isn't really much of a player - but just kept scoring goals and always has done.

The big question is can we afford to have a player like this in the team - he will score goals, but the other 9 outfeild player may have to 'cover' his general play.

So in a away he maybe the opposite of what Bent gave us last year - played well up front but just didn't score many.

His signiture does pose a risk in my opinion - especially when is general playing ability is a known weakness - is this risk worth £2.5M? If nobody else is available for the right money this January window (which is the usual case in January unless you have silly money) then it has to be a definate Yes in my opinion.

  12. No chance in Koldroup going this January (especially for a lose)- as mentioned not with Yobo away for the African Cup.

Strong rumours though that he just hasn't settled at all - so may not be down to just the footballing side -

If he did go for £3.5 M in the summer - Then clubs (including ours) have lost a lot lot more than £1 - 2M on players. So not ideal but not the end of the word for every Cahill and Arteta you are going to ge the odd Koldroup. That football

  13. Get a bid on the table now for Andy Johnson of 7 mill - Let's stop mucking around !!

Agree whole heartedly - If Moyes was willing to pay £6.5M for Beattie (and I think he will be value now we are strating to see the real player) then AJ is in the same bracket for sure - so the value for mnoey argument is not valid on this one.

Although, likley that Palace will want nearer £10M.

With £2.5M or so for Bent that only leaves £5.0 to find, come on we need to take a few risks - and with the players we have in the squad I think a pacey striker and hard worker like AJ would really take the team forward.

I think some of our recent downfalls is down to the fact we do lack pace in the side and teams are able to condence us on the pitch. I really think a decent pacey striker could be the key to really unlocking the squads true potential.
