  1. Great quotes (although it wasn't a great film) from Catch22...

that movie was shite idd .. but the book by Heller is the best i've ever read (together with Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole .. i'd recommend that one if you liked Catch22).

    on topic:

Tommy Johnson: I had to be up at that there crossroads last midnight, to sell my soul to the devil.

Ulysses Everett McGill: Well, ain't it a small world, spiritually speaking. Pete and Delmar just been baptized and saved. I guess I'm the only one that remains unaffiliated.

    :D .

  2. i think given just made a veteran move there ... winning some time by whining about something meaningless.. wiley couldnt really give a penalty for that ... don't even think wiley had that bad of a game ...

first time i felt like moyes has done an inadequate job.

  3. i gave it to fellaini ... together with baines the best man on the pitch..

totally don't understand why he was taken off .. and that wasn't helped by the fact subs didn't do jack shit (except for goslings late goal).

our first half was pretty good .. we didn't deserve to be down then ..

after the second goal, but mostly after those substitutions, the wheels came off.

yobo and osman : pfff .

hope jags is ok ... onward and upward. <_< .

  4. Bollocks bollocks and more bollocks Tim and JV on, Fellaini and Saha off

i don't get the fellaini substitution .. if you have to score at least twice, you don't take off one of your best scoring threats who isn't playing badly either (together with Baines he was best in my opinion)..

cna't see us getting a lot from this game, undeservedly so.

  5. It is a no brainer, Baines was by far best player on the pitch. Very, very impressed with him last night.

How refreshing not to have Fellaini on the pitch.

Only downside to the whole game was Jo, he has 0 confidence and was bad.

i agree.. by not playing fellaini, moyes showed how important the young guy is to our team.

i hope fewer toffees now doubt him, seeing how we weren't very threatening against chelsea.

    glad you've come around E_W :) .

I do think Jags is player of the year though, followed closely by Cahill. (unless something dramatic happens in these last few games).

For this match, I went with Castillo.

  6. ---------------------Howard---------------------------

    Jacobsen------Jagielka-------Lescott---------Baines

    Gosling--------Neville---------Fellaini--------Pienaar

    -----------------------Cahill----------------------------

    --------------------------------Jo-----------------------

Bench: Nash, Hibbert, Yobo, Castillo, Osman, Vaughan, Saha

Think Jacobsen warrants another start as he is in better form than Hibbert atm, Gosling as opposed to Osman as Ossie has little left in the tank and was pretty much invisible against Chelsea, and Jo to start again because as toothless as he is away from home, at home he rises to the challenge and I can see him getting a goal.

2-1 to the toffees, Jo and Fellaini.

    i'd switch Fellaini and Cahill

since Jo can't play against Man City, i'd start Vaughan (not Saha) ... if we're not winning after 60min, Saha can come on as a sub.

2-0 to us, Pienaar - Cahill FTW!!

  7. special thanks goes to berbatov :)

he couldn't care less about the game when he came in, and then that penalty .. if i were a manu-fan i'd wanna kill the guy.

great to see Howard bounce back with a great performance.

tbh i'm hoping moyes goes back to the 6 midfielders lineup against chelsea, because didn't really think saha starting worked out.

  8. welcome fastlane.

congrats to AZ, they were awesome this year.. but i do hope Van Gaal leaves you guys and becomes coach of belgian national team :-)

also, hope Moyes will sign dembélé :)

  9. Without any shadow of a doubt Pienaar gets my vote. His goal was so well taken and his work rate was once again top class. I don't know what else we could have asked from him after that display. As expected I'm a little gutted about the draw but at least we get a point and go one step closer to securing European football. We can still take Villa as they now go another game without a win. They are so much for the taking.

Neville put in another good captains peformance and didn't deserve to get booked. Referee lost the plot towards the end

Lescott and Jagileka did well in the defence. Lescott's tackle wasn't a penatly IMO and I hope that Jagielka is fit for the semi's (should be)

Fellaini & Cahill worked well today in the middle

Jacobsen put in a good performance for the time that he was on the field. More games like that and he could give Moyes some thinking time.

Worst player IMO was Jo. Didn't get into the game at all, Saha seemed to look a little bit more involved whereas Jo seemed distant. Don't think he's going to secure a permanant deal now. Based on money and performances.

What was on his shirt btw?

    'God is Love/Life?'

Oh and once again, Setanta commentators = Nobheads.

i think it said "God is Great" but i'm not 100% sure.

i gave my vote to Lescott.

  10. unfortunate not to get the win after being up 2 goals twice.. but i do think a draw is a reasonable result .. we should have kept playing football after the 2-0 and none of this would have happened..

apart from the stupid penalty foul, i actually think Lescott was our MOTM.. he dominated carew most of the game and won all the headers he needed to win..

webb could (should?) have sent of fellaini twice near the end of the game .... he completely disappeared in the last 20 minutes except for two elbows ..

hope he works on his conditioning in the offseason, he needs it.

  11. I'm looking forward to Parijs Roubaix! One of my favorites.

I'm hoping for Boonen as always, but another belgian will do aswell :)

Will devolder participate? Him in the same shape will be hard to beat.

    i assume he will .. but i'm hoping he won't ...

i like boonen more and devolder is the only guy that can take the win away from boonen .. not because he's better but because he's a teammate and boonen can't chase after him..

i'm sure devolder will make a stupid escape 50 miles from the finish and end up losing in the sprint to some nitwit like Hammond who happens to be a little bit faster ..

  12. Fellaini named in "European team of the week".

Decided each week by l'Equipe, La Gazzetto dello Sport, El Mundo Deportivo, Bild and The Guardian.

    ------------------------------------- Lloris (Lyon) -----------------------------------------

Pekarik (Wolfsburg) - Albiol (Valencia) - Samba (Blackburn) - Dossena (Liverpool)

Navas (Sevilla) ------- De La Pena (Espanyol) ------- Fellaini ------ Ronaldo (ManU)

---------------------- Pellissier (Chievo) ------- Dzeko (Wolfsburg)--------------------

For the performances of last weekend.

    Well done, Mo.

  13. and the winner in wevelgem is : Edvald Boasson Hagen, teammate of cavendish.

cavendish had a flat tire which was the cue for some to attack while he was waiting for help..

same happened to boonen, who also fell.

in the rain and wind, brutal race ... Hagen deserved it, maybe he can develop into cavendish' consiglieri :) .
