He is off to Citeh, with Petrov in London already as part of a swap deal. I am really, REALLY annoyed this morning with teams like Citeh and Spurs who don't need players like Bentley and Knajicar, yet poor (in the literal sense) Everton have disappointed again and no doubt will sign nobody today.
Cue the excuses after 5pm!

2.5m!! would have had him here for that amount anyday!!!! better than what we have got at the moment for sure
2.5 mill, Moyes it's time for revenge on Spurs as we need that type of player. Just say to him after Modric gets fit you won't play again, where here you'll play week in and out!
-
I will go and pop the radio on, might as well Ive got SSN on and Im trwling the tinterweb every 5 mins anyway.
Dont you just love transfer deadline day!!
I wish they scrapped it, causes more harm than good.
-
ok then, Maybe we should replace moyes with Anderson
Your avatar says it all my friend, lol.
-
Strange way of thinking, is that why you want him??
I think, no I'm actually quite certain rodwell would learn much more from neville, Cahill or any other starting everton midfielder then from 21 year old Anderson
Anderson is quality, despite his age is far better than Neville could ever be in midfield that is. Apart from professionalism, what could Neville possibly teach Rodwell? Ball control? Long range passing to feet? Control games? I think, no am certain not!
-
Sounds about right for me as well. Unless the shite happen to be playing Chelski...then i hope both teams lose.
Or Citeh, developed a real loathing after Hughes antics.
-
Classic!
-
Anderson is an international who is experienced and on his day is a dominating force in the middle, so Rodwell game would improve playing/learning next to him. Only an idiot would think otherwise!
-
banega would have had to sign the paperwork on the work permit so i,m positive we had spoke to him
Or an agent led us down the garden path, but thanks for your input as it's appreciated anyhow. Ignore the so and so's who don't.

LOL - fair comment Captain Ferguson. I assure you I am nothing to do with the club (I wish!). Project Manager in Suffolk if that helps distance me sufficiently. However, fully acknowledge that I am a strong defender of the club in general and mostly take the positive side of things. Respect the varying views on here, mine just happen to be at one end of the spectrum.
Do I think Kenwright has done a good job for our club? All things considered, I do. Hopefully I have clarified where I stand - don't really feel I ought to, but nor do I think it fair that people start speculating that I'm a club representative just because my comments are considered as overly positive.
Lol, fair dues lad. At least you took it in good spirit, with your respectful yet insightful reply. Unlike some knits hovering over the cow pat, waiting to strike lol.

Who says we have failed with any of the big targets? Big targets based on whose say so? Tabloid newspapers that have a job to do and link about 40 players every summer with every Prem side? Who says 'Billy' wasn't a top target? I'm not necessarily disagreeing, I'm just saying that we are all working from pure conjecture. We can't have it all ways. Next June we can ask Moyes to publicly issue his list of targets and then wait for the price to double on them all? Just a bit of devil's advocate..
Or Kenwrights PR guy?

Those who doubted him have no idea about the game, where those who doubted his fitness gladly thus far have been proven wrong. Despite some John Lennon rose tinted opinion that Vaughan is the best finisher at the club, Saha is the most complete striker we have and should get a further two year extension if Distin contract is anything to go by.
-
I think Baines has been average/poor this season, which is good because he and we know he can perform much better.
-
You never know... could be the player's agent trying to talk a better wage deal...
Then he should change his agent as he definitely has over-estimated Everton!
-
i think the onus is now on ossie to improve his game, fast. but if we have players of ossies quality on the bench is better than we are used to. bentley could give us added strength and options.
Wise words again Steve.
-
Are you serious? Neville may be a "not that bad" footballer, but he's a quality holding midfielder, a good two-sided fullback, and by far and away the best leader at the club.
PMSL! That's pure ale talk laddie, fantastic.
-
still young for a keeper, look at buffon, still at the top of his game. keepers shouldnt need a rest. and id rather not see nash play, give turner a go first.
After Turner blunder against, (unfair I must say) Moyes simply doesn't trust him. Think it's particularly unfair after all the chances Hibbert gets.
-
He doesn't want to leave, could end up quite embarrassing. You would think Everton would do their homework (tap up if you will), to see if the guy actually wants to come.

I've heard from before, let's hope this time it's true.
-
haha he vows to stay once he realizes no one is coming to save him, stayed pretty quite while speculation was rife
Haha, so true. Ok, close thread!

Why would we go for a goalie, when we need to improve in other departments?!
I agree. Though Howard is dodgy sometimes and does need an equal to push him, it's unlikely Everton will get Westwood for less than 2 million so better to invest in the middle where we badly need players. I'm fed up of playing five in the middle, when we could kill teams off with two up front.

It very much looks like Jonny Heit will be signing today and i wouldnt be suprised if Moyes and Kenwright make some comedy bids for players tomorrow. Van der Vaart, Villa and Messi............. If there are any big moves around tomorrow Kenwright will come out and say we matched the bid but were too late just like every other transfer deadline day. I would rather Moyes keep the money in the bank until January than spend another £15M at 5 mins before closing time. Hes good but not that good.
Glad you also noticed that, last year it was that German Kevin Kyuaniyi. If Heitinga signs I believe that will be it, hence suffering with Osman for another season.

Its starting to wind me up that people are writting him off as a thug and whats with all the head butting nonsense?
How many players can you say that you have seen him head butt and before anyone jumps on the band wagon and says that is what he was jailed for get a life. If that was a head butt half the players in the football league would be banged up by now. Even the opposing player spoke up for him at the trial.
It was a which hunt and Ferguson payed a heavy price for it, now my memory may be clouded but that is the only so called head butting incident I can ever remember him being involved in, feel free to correct me if Im wrong
Everyone is entitled to an opinion but its utter crap to try and make him out to be some kind of talentless moron who only ever went around punching and butting people
He was a hard centre forward who gave as good as he got. Its a contact sport and in those days many a centre half would kick lumps out of a forward to try and intimidate him
Was Dave Watson a thug? Was Tommy Smith a thug? Was Stuart Pearce a thug?
Spot on!

Witsel.
This happened a couple of hours ago : http://i29.tinypic.com/33e1wfd.gif
Don't think he'll be transferred during what will probably be a long long suspension ..
SSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Very nasty tackle!

It's not a feeling, it's called realism! We have only spend the Lescott cash, which shows the club have no cash of it's own despite the Sky and Fa cup money. Even Stoke have spend 15 million of it's own coffers, very disappointing.
