  1. What are your expectations for the season?

7th, good run in Europe. That's it.

Who are your most famous fans?

Haven't got a clue, maybe myself lol.

Any places you reccomend for our travelling support to have a few drinks/ anywhere that should be avoided?

No as I don't drink any more.

What team are you likely to put out against us?

A strong physical side to counter-act the long balls/throws, with two strikers to stretch your slow defense.

As a home fan, who would you say is your most dangerous player, that the opposition should look out for?

Saha at the moment, he is on fire.

Any guesses on what you think the score will be?

We are confident so a hard fought 2 - 0 win to the toffees. Hope Beattie get's a good reception on his return.

  2. Regardless of the size of your dad!....Vaughan just happened to turn a game around, as it had been brought into question as to his ability to do so!..Just thought I'd remind people.

Not much difference in age between the two players, but miles in terms of luck with injuries. If Jo can improve and get a bit tougher, then sure he could end up a really good player..... BUT wouldn't Mark Hughes enjoy setting the price tag for our new hero!

  3. I remember watching Vaughan come on against Birmingham at 1-1 and the game at stalemate, few minutes 3-1 Everton Vaughan turned the game! would Jo have done that?

Reminds me of the playground jibes one would hear, like 'My dad bigger than your dad'! It's academic what Vaughan did in one game, his poor goal record and poorer playing record is evident. Jo looks like Bambi sometimes, but is virtually an ever present and more importantly contributes to the team in general. It's not rocket science to see why Moyes picks Jo ahead of Vaughan this season, then sent Vaughan out on loan.

  4. Howard - 8. Vital saves

Heitinga - 7. I thought he played well, actually looked better in midfield. He has no pace though.

Yobo - 9. MOTH. Outstanding again, and had to be after Everton dismal performance.

Distin - 8. Quality, could play until 35 if he takes care of himself.

    Baines - 7. Solid.

Osman - 4. Apart from one cross he did nothing.

Felliani - 8. Get's an 8 for controlling the middle for most of the game, wouldn't of played but for Neville injury so Moyes should trust him now and leave him there.

Rodwell - 6. Got stuck in but looked very tired by the end.

Cahill - 6. Busy, got stuck in but rarely did much apart from one header.

Pienaar - 7. Classy, took out by the same guy who injured Cahill years ago.

Saha - 6. Class goal but no service.

    Hibbert - 7. Solid.

Moyes - 5. Just doesn't learn from his mistakes, a better team (like Fulham) would have beaten them today. Poor!

  5. I think the texter has a valid point. Neville is the club captain, and does lead by example, but creates nothing! Felliani and Rodwell/Cahill make opportunities and the team seem more balanced and confident with the ball played to feet. Though I have grown like respect Neville, I said his injury would free up Everton attacking potential.

  6. Just as a serious question here cos I dunno the answer. But Can we sign Jo on a permanent basis now the window has closed?

Yes, as we did it with Howard and Pienaar I think. The deal can be agreed, with money changing hands once the window is over. I hope Jo stays, Saha is getting on and he would make perfect foil for the Yak. And he is far better than other names thrown around at Everton, like Nugent and other goal failures.

  7. Though he is much maligned among the fans, I think he is an outstanding talent. It's also no sh1t sherlock that he has scored twice when partnered up front, I hope he stays beyond the season as he will grow to be a goal machine. Remember, the lad only 21!

  8. Totally forgot about Myhre, didn't think he was all that good but his hands were massive! I don't rate Howard that much either, Martyn was far more commanding and convincing a keeper. But he is the best we got, so gotta roll with the punches and get on with it. Though I would love to see Moyes buy a keeper of better quality, so both can push each other, but question is who?

  9. Imagine how good he'll be if he gets the Jag next to him. I mean, we all know Lescott was made to look better than he really was by The Wall :P .

Fair point as Lescott has been shocking next to Toure thus far, let's hope Jags and Distin can play together.

  10. I genuinely believe (for the first time in a long time) that we would win something this season. We have an excellent squad, easily our best in the last 20 years which has cover in every position on the pitch, we can now cope with cup runs and still achieve a high finish in the league.

Either you weren't around in the eighties, or you are being overly optimistic.

  11. captain, stop being stupid! I called you stupid, hit the report button!

No one forgot we had to sell to buy, we know the situation! What the hell can we do about it? Sitting here slagging off the whole club wont change crap!

Unless we are sold, which kenwright wont do, it wont change!

Now stop bringing everything and everyone down!

Voicing your negativity on TT wont change crap! Maybe write into the papers or the club with your opinions, and let us know the response.

Thank you for your constructive post, and no need for me to report it as it's self evident.

  12. Diouf could potentialy be in serious crap here. Fans throwing Banannas? Video evidence, witness accounts all suggest that nothing was thrown at him. He's an idiot anyway, feel sorry for the lad if it's true.

Well to be honest there is small racist element to a minority of Everton supporters, so I wouldn't automatically discount it though I believe it's tit for tat from Diouf. Racism is unacceptable, and saying we wouldn't tolerate it yet do nothing about it is also unacceptable.

It's a crazy claim and I personally saw nothing of the sort. I think someone through a hotdog bun at him at one point, but thats hardly the same thing and will only have been done because he's a fucking idiot not because of colour. The crowds reaction to him was purley because of his past and his character. He is entering dangerous waters by making claims like this, if it had been left at claims about the lines man then it would have been swept away and forgotten. If this claim gets picked up then everyone could end this stinking of crap.

I've been to away games where players and fans have been racially abused by our own, yet refused to stop until the majority turned on them. There are xenophobic forums, namely Kipper, who treat racism as a joke/entertainment. Point being is let's clean up in-house, then we can truly hold our heads and rubbish Diouf or any other claims. And I hope THIS time I get objective responses, as hatred is something I detest when misplaced.

  13. In fairness the people brought in are on a much bigger wage than previous players that have just left.

VDM was on 25k I believe. As was Nuno, and I think J.Lo was on 35k. Heitinga has come in on at least 40k, Distin is roughly 35k, Neill is 40k if press is to be believed and Bily is on 35k.

So we have taken around 85k off the wage bill which roughly equates to just under £4.5m in a year. The new players will equate to roughly £150k a week which is just under £8m a year. So that's an increase of around £3.5m, there will then be signing on fee's for the new players and the "loyalty" bonus paid to J.Lo (what a joke that is!)

You asked for figures and from a bit of looking around and basic math skills that is what I can deduce. £3.5m may not seem an awfuly large amount but for a club of our financial situation it is.

The figures for the players I have mentioned are rough figures based on numerous reports. The fact is that we began the summer with a small amount of players on salaries pushing past £35k, now a large majority of the squad are on thos figures. Pienaar and possibly Rodwell will also probebly be offered new big money contracts soon as well.

Anyone know what kind of figures players would get for a loyalty bonus? I know that it's City so there landscape is very different but Dunne got a £2m loyalty bonus! (one source stated £6m, but I cant see that being true!)

    Can't argue with that.

Senderos vs Distan Distan has played constantly for the past 2-3 years without missing a game, Senderos hasn't played a game for over a year. Distan Wins

Elm vs Bily Elm is a unproven kid who spent 3 weeks in a Farrari dealership an brought a skoda(in my opinion) Bily is a proven international players with 20 odd caps for Russia. Billy wins

Naughton vs Heit Naughton is again a unprove kid, who can't get in the spurs team. Heits is a proven international player.

We may of started looking at good players, but we ended up with great players an all it cost was one GREEDY basterd.

We have done well with the players brought in, but just remember we had to sell before we could make moves to bring in replacements. Something which Elstone, you, and other's who are blissfully ignorant like to forget.

Yes is the answer unless things change at the top. Elstone who I admire is being honest to a point, the real message is - that despite enjoying a cup run, running a lean squad, finishing 5th we are skint.

Things are unlikely to get much better financially unless we are sold. Does anyone actually believe that we wanted to keep Lescott when we knew that there was a potential £20m big ones on the table? I for one think it was great business although it further reinforced the fact that all our players have a price, Moyes does not have the financial backing to be able to refuse such big offers, both from a business sense and a reinvestment sense. If we had a budget that didn't rely on selling our players it would be a different scenario.

I'm not a Bill Kenwright basher, I am a fan who sees that unless things change quickly then the massive potential that this team has is not going to be realised. We have the likes of Arteta and Rodwell who could form the best midfield partnership since Reid and Bracewell - indeed one of the best in the prem, and whilst we are under the current ownership these players are at risk of being sold.

Intelligent post, pity it will be lost on some!
