  2. Where did I read that Lothar Matthias was championing him as well. Or was it Barkley? Either way, the idea was we should throw youth into one tournament in order to better prepare for the future. I completely agree with that sentiment and Stones joining along with Barkley is only worth it if they play.
  3. not sure in prize money, but our total income was around 86m (from page 36) http://www.evertonfc.com/assets/_files/documents/jan_14/efc__1391068051_EFC_Annual_Report_and_Accounts.pdf 2013 2012 LEAGUE POSITION 6th 7th AVERAGE LEAGUE ATTENDANCE 36,356 33,208 REVENUE £86.4m £80.5m WAGES/TURNOVER RATIO 73% 79% OPERATING PROFIT / (LOSS) BEFORE PLAYER TRADING £0.7m (£6.4m) PROFIT / (LOSS) AFTER TAx £1.6m (£9.1m) NET ASSETS/ (LIABILITIES) (£42.7m) (£44.3m) NET DEBT (£45.3m) (£46.0m) More of a breakdown on page 36 too
  4. we could (I read 25m budget in the papers) but not if we want to add bodies too
  5. aaah, so your Lukakus agent. Right... If you'd read what I'd written, you would see that I would only take him for the price I mentioned. For 20-25m, I would take him, if we have the money. Which we dont, so I wouldnt. But I maintain that if you want to buy a 1 in 2 striker, youre looking 15m+ anyway, and there are none around for that money less than 25.
  6. The envelope is already in the post... To be honest, this place forced me into immersing myself because you're challenged to backup your argument Im still prone to knee-jerk reactions but I can usually hold my hands up when Im wrong. Anyway, back to it and away from the man-love fest
  7. not that much older then. I only really started payin attention to the game, rather than just Everton, in the last 3 years
  8. hes not a poor footballer though. He scores goals, it's what he does provided you feed him. "Feed the Yak, he will score". He did fuck all else. And the Yak wasn't 20.
  9. and the price tag I've always touted is 15m plus 3m in ad dons considering the loan fee
  10. it is, but all the play makers in the world are useless without someone to capitalise on their work
  11. stats are risky, but what else, without being an oracle, can you go on?
  12. we don't score enough goals from all over the park though mate. Like I pointed out, no one is near him in terms of goals. If we can get his goals from other areas, fair enough. But Rom scores and wins games. We would need 4-5 players to pick up 3-4 goals extra each and how realistic is that? Moreover, how many clubs succeed with goals spread without a main goal scorer?
  13. again, it's down to my memory. I've always loved football but I won't pretend to know everything and that it's only in the last 5 years I've studied the game rather than just live it.
  14. this was my reaction, they're not quite the same type of player. But again, based on my memory
  15. my footballing maturity wasn't all that when viera was at his prime, so I would say yes, he's better. But based on what I remember
  16. 20 goals a season will be a walk in the park if a ) he stays fit and b )he gets the service to play to his strengths. At WBA he played as a super sub and got 17 in 35. This season he's improved (in terms of expanding his playing time and game) and still got 14 in 30. "We can't afford is not an excuse"; if we use that excuse we will never grow, and also we are not in the same financial position as we have been. We have cash this year. We need to show arrogance and believe, and if we sign squad players to add depth, it means nothing if there no goals. Rom brings in goals and goals win games. Worth every penny of 15m (considering my previous explanations). Still, unfortunately think we will miss out anyway
  17. you giving odds? Anyone know if Clattenburg is rffing the City or Shite game?
