  1. I'm just trying really hard to keep it light hearted, it's really fucking difficult
  2. That's what it felt like. Normally when you've got a point to make it's across every thread you can. Maybe I didn't notice it as much if you were posting in a couple instead? I assume that count is only the Dyche thread and not the other 200 threads we've had meantime that you also put 30 posts in? Yes, exaggerating for the irony just to be clear.
  3. Because I made a mistake and owned up to it. Just this nasty habit I have. If you think the statement still stands after someone admits a mistake, then that's a reflection on yourself. Shovels?
  4. No, that me not having my glasses on and multitasking at work. For which I apologised. You, on the other hand... Won't bother next time.
  5. Constantly yes, in about 30 threads Hands up here, I had read consistent but don't see where now. My mistake.
  6. You quite clearly do because you continue to misunderstand what others and myself keep saying. Im very aware I end up repeating myself and honestly it's exhausting. But I can't let things go when there's glaring holes in the issue, so I try to re-explain in the hope of communicating better to get my message across better. The issue with the protests wasn't that they were protesting, it was how the went about it. Not sure how many times that's been explained unless of course you're just ignoring that? I really do laugh/giggle/sigh when writing because I write as I talk. When I'm responding to some of the points I read, regardless of whose writing, I will write as I'm thinking. Pretty sure I've explained that recently too but just in case. You've not been consistent at all. You've gone from relatively quiet towards the end of last year (which is usual for you when things are going well) to flooding the forum with the same point in 10 threads for those dismal 3 months (talk about rewriting history ) before going quieter again saying he's done his job.

  8. Well, I did try to help explain but oh well. I will continue to get giddy when we win. Shocking behaviour, a fan celebrating success*, I know. But I feel it's probably the best way to support the club for me, rather than arguing facts with exaggerations, blowing things out of proportion for attention/reactions, thinking hijacking an entire forum rather than the traditional 2-3 threads to get an exaggerated point across that mistakes collation with causation is beneficial to anyone... Edit: *relative success to our situation, not for the club overall.
  9. Helps if I looked at the table after the Arsenal game vs United I guess
  10. Or Forest have to capitulate... Anyway, anyone taking odds on a Spurs victory or draw over City via a blatant VAR error just so the title goes down to the final day? Wonder what the predicted money for that would be vs City winning at Spurs.
  11. Oh, and I don't think standards have necessarily dropped overall. I think standards were redefined on and off the pitch when the Premiership was founded because that started the path towards football being a spectacle rather than a genuine competition. Expectations have adjusted to meet the reality rather than the dream/memories. Doesn't mean we shouldn't aim higher but also doesn't mean that realistic expectations are any less passionate.
  12. We've gone from 14 down to 10+? This is the exaggeration and hyperbole I was referring to and now you're trying to dismiss it as "nit-picking" rather than saying "bugger, got that wrong, my bad. Alright 10 but that's still shit". Not meaning to antagonise, this is just a good example of what I mean and you'd get a lot more engagement rather than challenge if you did. United's time is over for the time being, their fans will have to adjust soon enough. 10 year timeline probably and they're nearly there. Keane harping on like he usually does, he's the embodiment of bitterness. The last bit I get what you mean, but watching and attending games doesn't define your passion for the club. It feeds it of course but there's other means of remaining just as passionate. Just like those who go regularly aren't more passionate than those who don't/can't.
  13. Exactly. Just the facts they're based on sometimes and that goes for any and all of us.
  14. I wouldn't have left Everton unless they had to sell me.
  15. Oh I know. Apologies, I should've said vigilante-esq. How your opinions are expressed is the thing that's hard to deal with when youre so passionate about something and how you counter evidence, not your actual opinion. You'll make a statement, someone will counter it and you double down usually or go on a bit of a tangent. It just all gets a bit out of hand it it feels like exaggeration is then the only way to defend the point. I know I'm guilty of this too but I do make it a conscious decision to avoid it. Personally I'd love to just leave this season behind and save the energy for the coming 12 months because we're going to need it collectively.
  16. No. This is 100% not true. Somehow you and Haf, and only you 2 on here, seem to think you're performing some vigilante service for the rest of us numpties that look at all the spinning plates and think "this is a mess, but who else spins them better? No one? Ah, we couldnt afford anyone else? OK, well let's stick it out since we can't do anything about it". He was never given immunity. Not once. He was however defended from initially knee jerk reactions of calling for his head and repeating the same stupid cycle we've had for 7 years. He was defended because he has had us on 2 spells of European qualificiation level football after 2 years of survival at the death and a reduced squad to work with. He was defended because the stats showed we were creating chances and that the players needed to do better. No one has ever said (seriously) that he's an actual contender to Pep, but after yeeeears of misery, we've gotten a bit giddy at some success, midtable performances (argue as much as you both want, table shows it) and safety because that's just a fuckin relief after years of high blood pressure. Honestly, you 2 are fun to read for the most part. "Doesn't play youth", plays youth. Examples given the reaponse is "Yeah, but that 1 guy doesn't count because he played for him before and the young defender is famous in football circles, no shit... Anyway, a kid who may well have been in the team last year too if he hadn't been shipped out on loan when Dyche wasnt even there but as soon as he's back he's integrated into the starting 11... Don't like his football? For the most part neither do I. Not because of the tactics really, but because its effective, pragmatic football and that usually means not pretty. Is it good enough long term? Absolutely not. Is it good enough for now? Absofuckinglutely and us being skint has done us a favour else we would've been relegated after swapping another manager for, well no one other than Baines and Coleman and, as much as we love them, players turning coach might be ok for a game or 2 but not for half a season. Finally though, just going back to the completely OTT criticism. 95% of the forum know all this. We don't need hyperbole, we don't need misdirection. We sucked it up because that's what was needed this season. As I've said previously, next season is going to so much worse as we're going to have even less to choose from.

  19. "the gaffers brought a bit of Everton back" This should be fun...
  20. Good luck. I'm going for a workshop on EU VAT post Brexit I a couple of weeks, can't wait...
  21. No way to prove it and as good as I think he is, he's not worth 23 points a season (yet). No doubt he was key but to say we'd have been relegated without is quite harsh on the orhers that contributed to this defensive record.
