Dean the 8th to the 13th words in your post are living proof of exactly why we will get beat.
This is Everton after all
Haha Fair comment.
I live in hope that we have turned a corner.

This is a game we must win, Palace look dreadful at the moment. Zaha is at Afcon, which leaves Benteke upfront with little service.
Hopefully another convincing win!

Manchester United close to finalising Memphis Depay transfer to Lyon

'Mirallas on his day' or 'Bolasie on his day' - problem with both players is they are both inconsistent. I have never been a fan of Bolasie, i was quite gutted tbh when we signed him but ill support him now he is an Everton player.
I'd choose Mirallas all day though, he is the better finisher out of the two by far. Koeman seems to have got him going again.

I'll be disappointed if we let him go while keeping Lennon around.
For me Lennon offers more throughout the whole game, his defensive work allows other playes to flourish also. I think you can trust Lennon to put a shift in, especially in the big games.
-
I suppose it comes down to the player also, i cant imagine he will be happy sitting on the bench when he could be a starter elsewhere. Surely cant let him go in Jan though with Gana away and Schneiderlin not fully match fit.
-
Seen a few rumours we are looking at other options now instead of Belfodil.
-
I think 2 more. Hopefully both will be first team additions. Hopefully a defender and a striker. I think a keeper will be the priority in the summer.
-
Great team performance! Hard to pick just one. I went for Mirallas though, was a tough choice but i thought his work rate was outstanding yesterday. He seems to have stepped up lately.
-
I agree with an above comment that it is hard to get excited about this as all comments/articles online seem to be negative about him. Koeman and Walsh seem to like him so ill trust their Judgement.
-
It was grim wasn't it. As I've stated previously, my 2 boys who eat , breath and sleep football didn't waant to go the game.
That speaks absolute volumes to me, you're that excited at that age nothing should dampen your spirits.
Martinez managed it, not just with mine but with a lot of people I know.
agreed, i think he would have taken us down this season if he was still here!
Thought we had moved on from the Martinez talk?
Koeman got everything spot on yesterday, I fully expect when he has his team the way he wants it we will see a very good Everton team, yesterday was a glimpse into the bright future.
Ha i think he needs to be brought up every now and again just as a reminder ;-)
It also seems as though he is bringing out the best in Mirallas again, he really seems to be up for it lately.
-
The one negative from today was the number of times we left City forwards unmarked in front of goal. Robles saved us more than once and did an excellent job throughout.
Agreed, showed how much we missed Gana yesterday.
-
The second half of Martinez second season and the all of his third season, i dont hink iv ever been so depressed as an Everton fan.
-
Coleman for me too.
I really dont think we have many options tbh. Id like to be able to look through and Everton team and see 5-6 candidates. -
I have only heard of him having issues with Pulis.
Also his next club is massive for him, sometimes its good having a striker with a point to prove.
-
I have never seen two teams in such disarray as the one taken over by Joe Royle from Mike Walker and the one taken over by David Moyes from Walter Smith. Yet they were able to put their stamp on it almost immediately.
The Martinez team inherited by Koeman is a technically far superior side with experience all over the place.
So what's the difference? To me there were more "men" in the other 2 teams.... Watson, Dunc, Carsley, Parkinson,
Our current lot are too nice. There is only seamus who has a bit of needle about him and a gob.
Essentially Moyes and Royle were able to galvanise the team to really make a difference - Koeman hasn't been able to do that with our pedestrian bunch - whether its him or the players - it hasn't happened.
Moyes second season he finished 17th! with our lowest points total. So even if he put his stamp on it instantly, it didnt work straight away.
The difference imo is the qualitiy of the league now and the money involved in the clubs compared to when Royle and Moyes took over. We are 7th (best of the rest) the top 6 are extremely strong and gone are the days of an easy 3 points against the lower teams in the league.

Excellent post Dean and sums my feelings up also.
And your shout that the board should have got shut earlier is spot on. In all seriousness, as much as I hate what he done to us, I didn't enjoy any of the hate channeled towards him from our fan base but I also understood why it was there. It was just a horriible situation all round for everyone.
I don't think he done anything on purpose, of course he didn't to suggest otherwise is just ridiculous but the way he single handedly destroyed us and refused to accept what he was doing wasn't working and the positive bullshit he tried to spin on it constantly still stick in my throat and probably always will.
I also agree that his Mr nice guy persona is in some part a mask and he does have a smarmy I know better attitude underneath.
From everything I've read on here over the last few months, this simple snippet is the most hard hitting and summarises the whole situation perfectly.
Thanks :-)
This is the reason all of the 'Koeman Out' supporters frustrate me, they dont seem to realise the damage caused over the last few years and the type of job Koeman has on his hands. I dont think there are any other managers in the Prem who could do a better job with this squad.
-
Martinez was terrible. he gave us so much hope in the first season then destroyed it with 2 years of horrendous football. He made us into a joke and made Southampton fans and Pundits think it was a step down for Koeman coming to Everton.
Martinez would have happily spouted the same old sh*te week in week out until we got relegated. I genuinly cant stand the man, he had a nice guy approach but underneath i think there was more of a horrid side to him. TBF though the board should have sacked him earlier to save him from the abuse and also he should have never got the job in the first place. He was massively under qualified.
Koeman has a massive job on his hands after Martinez. its a shame that Moshiri and Koeman didnt come in as Moyes left, that team would have suited Koeman more i feel and we probably could have pushed on quicker with less needing to be changed. But at least Koeman has a few years of experience in the prem under his belt now.
-
I doubt that Swansea will sell him unless it's for an over-the-top sum. He's their best player by a long-shot.
I would love him here though.
Agreed, unless their new manager has his own targets and needs to sell to buy.
-
Is he better than Barkley? They would occupy the same place in the team and I think Ross is better, plus he has a poor injury record.
I think its debateable. I think creatively he is. I think he reads the game better tbh.
Im not saying i would rather have him, i just dont think it would be a bad signing if he stayed fit.

-
Not a chance would he go to China.
I agree. Im simply saying if that was me i'd go. 800k a week is ridiculous. Two years over, bang in a load of goals and come back to the prem. Job done ha.
-
How can you judge a manager on 85 days incharge? He was sacked after 11 league games. To suggest he failed in Italy is ridiculous.
Because he lost 7 out of 14 games. For a club like Milan that isnt good enough. He was poor in Holland too. He's another Martinez.
-
Reports saying Chinese team willing to pay him £800k a week! Along with sterling....
At his age, id go! 2 years in China then come back with £40m in his bank and still only be 25/26.
China are going to ruin football at this rate though.

I think you are right. Schneiderlin signed instantly once the Niasse loan was agreed.
Depay will be on £100k per week.
