  1. Paper Talk but i think he would be great here.

Playing in front of Gana and Schneiderlin (hopefully), perfect player for behind Rom.

He's been great at Bournemouth, his lifestyle seems to have calmed down now he's had a child.

Doesnt seem like Koemans or Walsh type of player though.

Tbf to him, most of his injuries have been through bad tackles haven't they? or am i making that up? ha.

  2. Koeman taking us to 7th is like praising Moyes for doing it. It's where the money says we should be. And for the money Koeman's on he should be exceeding expectations.

There isnt another Manager who we realistically could have brought in that would have done a better job! DeBoer was another Martinez, he was garbage in the Dutch League then failed in Italy. The likes of Eddie Howe and Sean Dyche may be great managers at their level but they could never attract the players we need to move forward! and with managers like that we would forever be 'little old Everton'.

Mourinho is only in 6th Place with UTD and look who they brought in.

Some people may not like Koeman because he isnt 'Everton' who cares! we havent won anything for over 2 decades! Moyes did a great job at turning us from a relegation battling side to a top 8 team, then Martinez was on his way to destryoying all that hard work. He turned a hard working team with a 'never quit' attitude into a bunch of tarts that were fine with losing providing we had good possesion.

If we want this Club to move forward then Koeman is the man to do it, this isnt a refurb its a Rebuild and we need a manager that can attract players and wont stand for any BS. It was great to hear him criticising the board over transfers instead of a manager saying how great Bill Kenwright is and how we have a small budget compared to other teams!

You cant judge a manager this early unless he is failing miserably, Koeman isnt, we are 7th with a poor and ageing team.

  3. He's not a top class keeper which is what we need if we want to ever break into the top 4.

Decent back up but he's no Courtois, De Gea, Lloris, Chec or Hart.

    Forster or Butland for me

Agreed, id love either of these at Everton.

Seems to be a lot of unrest at Stoke at the min, Bojan will be putting in a transfer request apparantly. Butland for 20m? i couldnt imagine more than that, money well spent imo.

I think signing Schneiderlin will help with the defence, him and Gana in mid could be a perfect fit and fresh legs instead of Barry will certainly help the defence.

  4. I think the Southampton game typified Koeman's Everton. We seem only to be able to deliver 30-45 minutes of football. We either need to blow them away in the first half or hang on until later in the second half.

So far I'm not impressed with Koeman. He seems to have concentrated on our leaky defence but it has been to the detriment of our attack. We seem too rushed to get the ball forward, we play mindless crosses into the box that go nowhere.

We need to be better in the build up, keep possession and move the ball around. But most of all we need to shoot at goal with some purpose. We can't afford to turn over possession with a player getting caught on the hop and everyone out of position.

I think its one job at a time and sorting our defence was a priority imo, 1 Loss at Goodison since he came in. We are conceding less and looking much better at the back. its not been perfect or petty but its been much better and what we needed this season. Goodison needed to be made into a place teams fear again unlike how it was when Martinez was in Charge.

The attacking side of our game will improve im sure as Koemans sides are known for playing attractive footbal, Le Tissier was saying at the weekend on Sky thats the one thing Southampton fans miss about Koeman.

  5. I can understand it not working at Barcelona as you need to be exceptional to break into that front line.

Sevilla didnt trust him in big games and their manager was critical of him too and decided not to keep him on.

Something is stopping him from doing well, he has natural ability which is plain to see but he is very inconsistent and never seems fit. He does seem a luxury player, someone to come on the last 20 mins and whip some crosses in. I think his level is lower down the league, Middlesborough are interested in a loan and i think he would be a good fit there but they have Traore who is very similar and they seem to be frustrated with him.

  6. re: Berahino, who was the last player to dig their heels in and refuse to sign a new contract for more to wait it out two years and force a move away? Any agent ought to have pushed for improved terms, a realistic buy out fee, and the option to talk to any CL club about a move whence interested.

Berahino comes away from this fiasco looking pretty bad, having tried to force a move to spurs through, but it looks like spurs are chock full of players for the forward line so that dog might not hunt this time, might we be a fit for him? Did he work well with Lukaku? Don't we have speedster attackers already (even ones with a chip on their shoulder or two), if he moves fairly cheaply this january he'll demand a massive signing on fee, only an under 21 international as well.....

Even a £2-3 million signing on fee would be worth it imo. He needs to kick start his career, he is talented and was highly rated at one point. Still very young, a good finisher and Pacey.

  7. I think his future depends on who we sign in Jan and the Summer.

If Schneiderlin signs then the midfield i imagine will be him and Gueye, with Barkley just in front. If we sign a new no10 then im not sure where that leaves Barkley.

Say for complete arguments sake we signed Sigurdsson for example then our best midfield would arguably be...

    Schneiderlin

    Gueye

    Sigurdsson

I think a no10 will be on Koemans list of targets.

  8. So January is nearly here, who are we going to sign?

Schneiderlin & Lookman seem to be the main ones and maybe Depay (touch wood!)

Berahino could be another, his contract is up in the summer so he would be pretty cheap. Maybe worth the gamble? Talented with a questionable attitude.

Some rumours regarding a Martial Loan but i really cant see that.

Gabbiadini rumours have started up again too.

I dont think we will get a Keeper this window. not sure who is available at the quality we need.

Personally i think we will make 4 permanant signings this window and maybe a loan. thoughts?

  9.

What we'd learn is whether he's either not up to snuff or Koeman is unable to get the best out of his players.

I think its more to do with if they suit each other rather than if Koeman can get the best out of his players. Maybe Koemans style of football just doesnt suit him. Some players will flourish under his style and some wont. But did he excell under Martinez? a manager that allowed him the ultimate freedom, i wouldnt say he did.

My opinion on Loaning is just an alternative to selling him. Could it reignite his career? I think it could.

  10.

    "SCHNEIDERLIN SET FOR EXIT

Jose Mourinho has confirmed Morgan Schneiderlein will be allowed to leave providing Manchester United get the right offer.

Schneiderling has been linked with a move to West Brom." - SSN

Doen't look like we've lodged a bid yet, and hes asked to leave as soon as WBA have asked for his services.

Plenty of time to go though yet, he's the only signing that would really woo me, considering the names we've been linked to. I'm not too worried about WBA beating us to his signature, especially as Koeman has worked with him before and should convince him to be part of our "project". But then again I wasn't worried about stoke beating us to sign Shaqiri.

I was reading the other day an interview from Shaqiri and he never mentioned we was in for him only that he was close to joining Liverpool which was weird as i thought we was in for him too.

If we are in for Schneiderlin then i cant see him going to WBA. Many reports in France claim a deal is done. Im really hopefull of this and im with you its the main signing im looking forward to. Just hope we get it done!

Didnt WBA do this in the Summer, bid on players they knew were going elsewehre just to appease the fans.

  11. John stones.... there's another in front of ya. If kompany gets fit then he can say bye to the starting spot.

Agreed although i think Kompany is done now. I think he will retire this season.

John Stones will be a bench warmer next year. Too many mistakes in his game to be at a top club pushing for titles.

Van Dijk would be perfect for us, im holding out a little hope that Koemans relationship with him may sway him to come here.

  12. Pefect for both parties.

Lukaku will need to prove he is worth £80m, agreed not many clubs can pay that so he is limited to where he can go. PSG have always seemed the perfect fit as they can afford him and he would thrive in that league. I cant ever see him going for £80m so i imagine it would be player plus £60m kind of deal.

Koeman just seems a realist to me, not many 'top' players stay at a club for 8 years. He will want to move at some point. Realistically i think next season will be his last unless we acheive Champs League football.

  13. I guarantee Funes Mori will leave in the off-season barring some miracle patch of form. Here are my predictions of what will happen and why:

    1. Koeman will sign a new starting CB to pair with Williams in either January or in the summer - why? because he knows we desperately need one. I'm hoping this will be Virgil van Dijk.

    2. Jagielka will stay on as backup CB occupying a bench spot - why? because he's 34 years old and has 18 months on his contact so he is not going anywhere.

    3. Either Galloway or Oviedo will be sold in the summer - why? two doesn't go into one. Galloway is the better player and has more potential but perhaps Oviedo is the one more willing to play second fiddle to Baines.

    4. Holgate will continue to occupy a bench spot next season - why? Koeman selects two defenders on the bench every game (one specialist CB and one fullback). Jags will be the former, and Holgate the later.

    5. Either Connolly or Pennington will be loaned out but not both (unless Unsworth buys a new CB for the U-23s) - why? both are contracted for next season and we need further depth in defence.

    6. Funes Mori won't accept not starting and will be sold for £12 million+ (probably to some mid-table La Liga side) why? he's not willing to lose his spot in Argentina starting XI in the season leading up the 2018 world cup.

Leaving our defensive depth to look something like this for next season:

    RB: Coleman, Holgate, Connolly/Pennington

CB: NEW CB, Williams, Jagielka, Holgate, Galloway?, Connolly/Pennington

    LB: Baines, Galloway/Oviedo, Connolly

I wouldnt be surprised if Moyes bid for Jags again tbh.

I think both Oviedo will defo be gone, Just isnt prem quality at least not for our long term plans. Very odd that Galloway cant get in the West Brom team though.

  14. How will a loan deal benefit us? or him? As though we're a top side with world class players. One of the most ridiculous shouts ever.

Not really. Plenty of positive reasons why a loan would help. At present he runs the risk of being sold on permanantly, which most Everton fans including myself wouldnt want to see. A loan elsewhere could revive his career and bring him back a better player. TBH this is what probably should have happened a few years ago imo. I think he is trying to hard at times an its back firing, then he gets booed and it eaffects his game, he's in a tough place and personally i think it would help him.

    Just my opinion.

  15. Romey put it better than I could. He's always reacting and never anticipating, he's a yard off the pace and slows down the fluidity of the team.

Barkley shines when he plays on pure instinct, probably the best footballer in the world when he let's loose. But, we only ever get to see flashes of it.

Really? Even when Barkley is at his best i still think he's quite far down the line regarding best in the world!
