  1. Apparantly has a great relationship with Koeman and we stood no chance of signing him last year. Im hopefull this will play a part in us signing him in Jan, i wouldnt be surprised if he was Koemans number 1 target and was asked to stay away from him in the summer. He would be great for us, proved himself in the Prem now, just what we need.

  2. Some comments here are ridiculous. Our First 11 is poor and has been led to beleive they are great for 2 seasons. Under Martinez we looked like winning more matches? not at all! some of the displays under martinez were terrible, spurs away, sunderland, stoke, swansea in the cup just to name a few. Yeh we got a win against Chelsea under Martinez at home and got battered away this season by an excellent Chelsea side and so did UTD. Comparing 1 result is ridiculous. Koeman simply needs time, i imagine he is dying for January to come around. We have seen the stories form the summer, players either wanted more money or used to to get a better deal. It wasnt for lack of trying. He did a great job with Saints and hopefully will do a better job with us but to judge him after only 13 games after inheriting a poor poor team is pathetic.

  3.

I usually take my time before turning on a manager... Moyes got 5 years I think. Martinez up till the west ham debacle. Koeman - something just isn't right. It has the feeling of a Mike Walker tenure... it just isn't right.

Time will tell i suppose. I hope it works out with Koeman, i do get what you mean though it doesnt seem a 'perfect' fit and i dont fully think it is for the future but i do think he is right for the rebuild if that makes sense.

I would love us to go back in for him, we should have snapped him up when we had the chance instead of signing Mori

Id love us to sign him, proved himself in the Prem and seems to still have a great relationship with Koeman. He will leave Southampton thats almost certain. Liverpool and City apparantly sniffing around.

  5.

nope... there was a glimpse of a honeymoon period which was completely ended with his series of ridiculous interviews.

There seems to be a detachment between players.... anyone see Barkley go nuts at Rom yesterday? First time I'd seen it but understood why - Barkley needs movement in front of him. If it can't be Rom then give the kid Calvert Lewin a go... there is zero energy when we have the ball.

I'm fuming that Koeman chose to praise Lukaku - I just knew he would down tools... happened all the time with Martinez.

To a point I understand it - Lukaku is who he is.... he is the product of a lot of hype and you see that in his confidence. He needs bringing down to earth not having his ego boosted. I'm interested to know what the sky pundits made of him yesterday - someone said he got slated a bit. Interesting given Thierry Henry was on the panel.

All opinions, they will be divided especially at a time like this.

I gave that clown Martinez two full seasons so ill certainly do the same with a more proven manager.

  6.

Mourinho is a busted flush - he will be gone from united before long. Players have lost respect for him.

Benitez did make a big impact straight away - not miraculous which is what was needed but you could see in how the team played.

Klopp changed Liverpool straight from the get go - there really is no disputing that. The energy etc - their run up to the Europa cup final... he's galvanised them.

Koeman aint the answer mate - unfortuantely

Agreed, he did but what i mean is its only this season when its really his team and fully playing to his ideals. You seen glimpses of what he wanted last season.

"Koeman aint the answer mate - unfortuantely" - Way too early to judge surely?

  7. Edit:- Dean... again regarding the time it takes to rid the previous managers "habits" - not having it mate. Look at how Royle changed us immediately from the Walker regime, look at how the team looked energised with Unsworth and then initially with Koeman after Martinez.... look at Newcastle and Villa...... the managers can impact the team immediately and if they can't then something is wrong.

I get what you are saying but its different managers and different teams, some have an immediate impact and some dont. it didnt happen overnight with Benitez and Newcastle, he had a full summer, he already knew his players and brought in a number of his own players too. Look at Klopp, has only really just got Liverpool to how he wants them to play. Mourinho, it isnt happening for him either and he is arguably the best manager in the world.

I agree something is off but i dont think its the management side. This group of players stink and the majority need replacing fast.

  8. I actually preferred how we played under Martinez (before the last 6 months of his reign). At least then we actually created a chance or two.

Koeman does need time but I still don't see what stamp he is putting on this side. He did it in his first few games, you could see the intensity and the directness, but they are no longer happening.

People still blaming Martinez need to get a grip. A good manager can start changing things within a couple of games, especially if they were that bad to begin with. You would expect it to be bumpy to start with and that is what we are going through but you should also expect to see their style of play being imposed on the team.

Of course we are still paying from the last 2 seasons under Martinez. He basically changed our mentality and gave players somewhere to hide after every loss, thats the reason imo that none of our players have any fight.

Right now Koeman is steadying a ship, it doesnt look great at all i agree but this is a transitional period. We arent like West Brom wanting to go from a bottom side to a mid table team, we are a mid table team wanting to break a very tough top 6 so the players we need are of a different calibre which is the reason the summer window was such a nightmare.

Koeman was the best manager available for what we need which is a rebuild. It wont happen over night, season 2 is when he should be judged. Hopefully he has some players lined up in January that can make a difference.

  9. I think the key to it is to remove yourself as an 'Everton fan' and look at the situation from an outside point of view. We are shit! we have been shit for 2 years, with basically 3/4 good players that have stopped us from falling further than what we could have. We are miles away from the teams above us in terms of quality and the only thing that seperates us from the teams below us is the 3/4 quality players that we have. Martinez didnt just change the way we train and play, he changed our mentality which is the issue and a dangerous one too, the players all seem to have a negative attitude and seem used to losing or nicking a draw.

The fault is not with Koeman, we are lucky to have him, the problem is with what Martinez has left us with. Things are changing but it wont happen over night. Imo we have the right people in place with Koeman, Walsh and Moshiri, We need to give it time. Koemans options are limited in regards to team selection so January is massivley important. We have money and he has stated he expects to do business and there looks a few decent players available in January too that could improve our team (Schneiderlin for one).

  10. Any news on him?

I feel that if fit h could be one that could change our fortunes around.

High pressure football and not afraid to turn a player.

But after his injuries will he still be able to press?

Iv only seen him have 1 maybe 2 good games.

I think he will be gone sooner rather than later, his fitness is a big issue too.

  11. I dont see the issue with Koemans comments tbh. Its obvious he is only here for 4 years or so but arent all managers these days. He stated Lukaku should be playing for top top club like Barcelona, why not? Surely that is every top players goal in their career! Hopefully Moshiri's aim is to get us competing for the league again but look how long it took Many City to get where they are and with more money than us and befor the TV money came into play. Koeman is here to steady the ship and get us back on track, in my eyes that will take 3/4 years and if he acheives what we want him to then bigger clubs will come calling but he has to do a good job here first. Regarding Lukaku i cant see him staying another season and i think Koeman knows that.

  12. Hopefully the N'Zonzi rumours arent true.

I dont really rate Besic tbh, he's had one good game vs City but apart from that he looks lost. He doesnt offer anything to the team. Most fans think he's great because he likes a tackle etc but other than that im not sure what he offers. I think he was bought to play the Gana role but he isnt good enough and certainly isnt good enough to replace Barry.

  13. Personally i think Barkley is starting to fade, missed his opportunity and has been poor for 2 season with the occasional moment of brilliance as someone pointed out. He is good enough to play in the Prem but he isnt good enough for us to build a team around. For me most Evertonians have blinkers on with Ross, if he played for any other team or wasnt homegrown and we'd bought him then he wouldnt get the same support.

His 'footballing brain' has been mentioned multiple times and i agree that he doesnt seem to have what it takes. A lot of youngsters seem to be progressing much more than Barkley, Deli Ali is one of them he is influential in almost all of Spurs games whereas Barkley pops up every now and again. For me he goes missing way too much, he is too light weight on the ball for such a big lad and his final ball is often a waste. I wouldnt be surprised if this was his last season at Everton.

  14. Sunderland look awful, i hope they stay up because i like Moyes but they really do look poor all over the pitch. I'll be shocked tonight if we dont win. Just need to keep Defoe quiet and i dont seem them scoring from anywhere else on the pitch.

Iv got Lukaku as my FL captain. He needs to start scoring soon and hopefully tonight is the night.

  15.

By all accounts the transfer dealings are done by Kenwright and Elstone - so I am looking at this as per usual.

I'm irritated that we didn't get Perez Martinez - amateur.

Sissoko - bullet dodged, more concerned that we bid £30m for him.

Brahimi - they tried to rinse us for ridiculous money as he is part owned.

Gabbiadini - I expect us to get him in January when Napoli have back up sorted

other than that we signed a good keeper, Williams, Gueye and Bolassie - and got a talented player on loan. The squad is stronger with the emergence of Holgate and Davies. We kept Lukaku who many thought was as good as gone and wanted to keep.

The frustrating thing is Arsenal didn't even want him, they were offered him weeks ago and stated he wasn't in there plans. Panic buy for Wenger, be interesting to see how much game time he gets.
