Butland, Forster or Kasper Schmeichel - id take any of these. Butland i imagine is the more realistic out of the 3.

December is interesting. The big games are at home which is a bonus and no reason why we cant get something from all three. Depending on Leicesters transfer window they could be in trouble next season imo, losing Vardy and Mahrez will be massive and even though they are in the CL i still don't think they will attract top players. Id expect us to beat Watford and Hull.

yes because 5 matches in a 40+ season define a players worth. makes complete sense.
Yes it does, especially when one of those games is a semi final! you want to win a cup you have to perform in those games!
-
well played. but i would like to be fair to the man and say he was very good in the transfer market. sure there was Niasse, Lacina Traore, Mcgeady, Kone, Alcaraz, etc. But he did some great moves with Romelu, Barry, Mccarthy (first year he was worth it), Gerry, Lennon, Funes Mori, Besic, etc.
I also think Traore was a good signing just unlucky with injuries, didnt cost us anything.

10 more goals than anyone on the team (just prem goals), how was he not playing like a winner? 3rd in assists on the team? how is that not like a winner. 4th in THE LEAGUE in goals and he's not playing well? you lot are mad.
Extremely lackluster performance in the Semi Final, hasn't turned up since Christmas apart from the Chelsea game. I think the ones who defend him blindly are mad tbh

what is wrong with wanting to win a trophy? in america we call that drive and determination and a goal to strive for. who the fuck does he think he is? he thinks he's a footballer that wants to win. Not phil "we'll give it a go" nice guy jagielka. i want winners not nice guys.
If he wants to win a trophy then play like you want to win a trophy! dont just talk about it.

Emery is now favourite. I'm get the feeling he could be Martinez'esc. Still favouring DeBoer.
I think De Boer is more of the Martinez mold tbh.
-
Finishing seventh in the league is woeful, especially considering the top three is pretty much nailed on?
Yes woeful, no wins away from home and some heavy defeats.
-
I really don't know where he will end up.
If Mourinho goes to UTD he wont want him, he certainly isn't Guardiola's type of player and id be surprised if Chelsea bought him back. He isn't good enough to play for R.Madrid or Barca and his Dad has stated it wont be the Italian League.
PSG are the only ones left who can afford him and they have apparently bid for Higuaín.
PSG would be perfect as he will get his goals there many other teams i think he'd end up a bench warmer.

Well, allegedly we have already spoken to Pellegrini. He wants to stay in the Premier League and in the North West. That's all well and good but I don't want him coming to Everton just so he doesn't need to move house.
If he is genuinely excited at the possibility of managing our great club then I would be very happy to see him here.
On a more worrying note, Moyes has just ruled himself out of the running for the Villa gig!
Agree but i imagine for him its more of a bonus than an actual reason.

Emery isnt for me, His Europa League record is great but Sevilla have been woeful in the league this season. No wins away and some heavy defeats. Seems focused on silverware which is fine if your league form doesn't suffer.

Id be happy with Pellegrini, Prem experience can attract big names, players seems to talk highly of him. Thinks he's the best out of the bunch now tbh.
-
I think its hard to fully judge him tbh, first season in the Prem playing in a terrible team under a manager known for not defending. Ill save my full judgement for next season if he's still here. Seen glimpses of him being great and seen moments of him being terrible. Time will tell.

Which probably means that we'll have to offer them much higher wages that we usually would to tempt them here. Do we want that sort of player here? I know some of our fans care about the character of a player a lot.
I don't even think that would do it, look at West Ham and what they can offer. They can Match any wages we offer, Great New Stadium, the London factor and European Football. So replacing Lukaku is going to be tough and the 'big' names going around simply wont come imo.
-
All these players that are being named will be wanted by other Prem Clubs too and all can offer European Football.
-
Lukaku has been going for Months now, i accepted it a long time ago.
They guy is an absolute beast on his day but his days are few and far between. The size of him he should be bossing defenders every match but he doesn't, his first touch is terrible and his passing is woeful too. Extremely frustrating player, yes he can score goals but he has missed an awful lot of chances this season too.
I wouldn't be gutted to see him leave, he thinks he's better than what he is and he wants champs league so leave him to it. He is our main striker and gets let off with an awful lot, at a 'big' club chasing top spot each year and competing in the Champs league i think he will come under a lot of criticism.

And we would be worse off
How would we be worse off? Berahino looks decent when plays, supposed to be the next bing thing before his fall out with Pulis and Bony scores goals and has a much better work rate than Lukaku.
-
I'm not sure on Mourinho to UTD, i feel it would have been done already. Plus im not sure UTD would want all the bad media that could potentialy come with him being manager. I can imagine Bobby Charlton or even Fergie giving him the knod of approval.
-
Where do we want to be Haf? Mid table 7th, 8th? If we want to crack on we need to forget about players like Cleverley and McCarthy. Solid squad players but not good enough for challenging IMO.
Plenty of Winning teams have a workhorse, a player who allows the creative players to shine.
-
Two very good strikers and then you name Bony and Berahino :major overreaction alert:
ha all about opinions, Bony was great for Swansea never fully had a look in at City and i think he'd be perfect for us and a realistic choice. Berahino is a young talented footballer, right price id take him.
-
If we're looking to move up the table... There's no way Tom Cleverley can be seen as a first teamer.
Our success in Martinez first season was based on two wide players and Barkley.
Cleverley isn't good enough to play in the middle either.
Bit harsh on Cleverley, I think hes a very solid player been much better than most this season.Always get a good shift out of him, i think every team needs this kind of player.
Favre - i cant really comment dont know much about him, headlines raving because Wenger knows him but he knew Remi Garde too .
