  1. He played a lovely ball into Lukaku (which was also a very good run) just after they had scored which could have been the equaliser is he had made better contact. That wasn't an easy pass to pick out and it was probably an inch or two away from being perfect.
  2. I have watched their chances back a few times today and for their goal you have got to say that it is really poor keeping. Firstly he stands pretty much directly behind the wall, he doesn't try and cover off his angles and that is probably the reason he reacts late. Secondly he is actually standing in the same half of the goal that the ball goes into. There is no way any keeper in the world should get beaten in those circumstances. He makes a few decent saves earlier on, mainly the one from Lallana but again you would be disappointed if he had got beaten on any of them. With the Balotelli chance that I think he eventually saves, he shouldn't have even let it get to Balotelli. The ball was about 4 yards out and Howard should have been anticipating the cross and should have intercepted it before it even got to the Italian. That is 2 really poor Premier League games in a row from him.
  3. Yeh I think Kaymer missed 3 or 4 make able putts on the back nine. Saying that Rose had a shocker of a put on 16 or 17 which in hindsight would have resulted in them winning a the hole. Him and Debuisson have been brilliant the last couple of days though. Some of the scores they have been posting is crazy, especially in the foursomes.
  4. You can say a wonder free kick or bad keeping stopped us from winning. I'm certainly not saying we were perfect but if you want to be more defensively solid you need to hold back to a certain extent on the attacking. Only the best teams in the world have that perfect blend of attack and defence especially up against a decent team like Liverpool. It's amazing that you aren't a manager yourself as you make everything sound so simple.
  5. This forum makes me laugh. We ship too many goals but still score lots and people complain we are too open. We defend well on the whole but don't create a great deal and we set up too defensive. We ship late goals and we are too soft. We pull goals back late and we get lucky. Either way it's all Martinez fault. He picked the wrong team, wrong subs, he didn't frown enough on the touchline, he says all the wrong things before and after games, he is far too positive for us negative Evertonians and to top it off he even wears brown shoes with a black or grey suit. What a cunt.
  6. Rose and Stenson were excellent in both games today and I would definitely be keeping them together tomorrow. Debuisson and McDowell look like a strong foursomes pairing too. I would be looking to split up Garcia and McIlroy although the way they played down those last couple of holes may just be what they needed to get them moving forward. Great performance from the 2 US rookies too. Absolutely destroyed Poulter and Donaldson.
  7. I think the point he is getting at is that the game is still only worth 3 points but the value of the match to both sides is far more. If your insinuating what I think you are, then you need to get a grip as well as a few others on here in taking comments completely in isolation or not using context and even in some instances just making them up!
  8. I agree with you. On the whole I think we lack a little persepective!
  9. That was one game where he had a rush of blood to the head. He hasn't done that in his other cameos so far and I doubt he will do something quite like that again. Completely agree. We need to be more aggressive in our pressing as a team. We have been a bit hit and miss, sometimes being aggressive and hounding them out and other times sitting back and letting them do what they want. We need to take more of a leaf out of Chile's book and keep it going for longer.
  10. Haha yeh used to be exactly the same when I was younger. I have grown out of it a little more but can't help myself at times. If we lost it used to ruin my day/weekend but now it's only until I have vented! Ha I know what your trying to say Paddock but you can't get lucky over the course or a season when you have outperformed your best ever points tally. If we had got 5th with 60 points I would agree with your reasoning but over 38 games you can't just get lucky.
  11. You strike me as emotional bloke Paddock! You would think the manager that got our highest EVER points total in the PL last season would have more than half a dozen games to turn it around before being written off. I'd we win the Derby at the weekend everyone will be back to licking his arse again.
  12. Yeh he got his hand to the 1st so could have done more. Shouldn't have got to that stage. I feel a bit sorry for him in the last goal because we parted like the black sea... or whatever sea it was!
  13. It's not because Pienaar is an amazing player and the peak of his form or anything like that but he is dependable. Frustrating that he can fuck up opportunities but he will keep his shape and he generally doesn't get caught out too often in dangerous positions whereas the replacements (bar Mirallas) do. It's early days for Atsu and he did alright yesterday so he might be different in time.
  14. I think we have too many players that just aren't reliable enough creeping into the starting 11. McGeady, Osman, Atsu, Jags, Stones (at RB) and Distin/Howard so far this season. Lukaku falls into this category as well but with him you can afford it a little more. Dealofeu worked well last season because he was used as an impact player, just like McGeady and Atsu should be used but with Pienaar out they are getting more game time than they should. The same issues are creeping in at RB with Seamus out and CB with Jags fucking everything up. If you played Howard, Coleman, Stones, Distin, Baines, Barry, McCarthy, Pienaar, Mirallas, Barkley/Naismith, Lukaku every game I don't think we would be having the issues we are having now. I'm not saying the above players are always perfect but on the whole they aren't the types to make the catastrophic errors and the turnovers that lead to these errors. Sure they have a bad game and if so they can be subbed out but on the whole they are far more reliable over the 90 minutes. The closer we get to that side above, the sooner we will start putting things right and moving forward we have to start looking at these more dependable buys (like Etoo) rather than the completely hit or miss of McGeady if we are going to expect them to play the majority of the season.
  15. Haha you could put half the forum in this thread!
  16. If Howard calls its his ball. Keeper has authority and if it fucks up it goes on him. If Distin decides to clear it he can but its all down to Howard.
  17. I wouldnt disagree with that, especially with Mirallas on the left and maybe Naismith/Lukaku rotating between the right and centre.
  18. Just seen the first goal again, Howard should be doing better as well and Montero pretty much walks past Hibbert. Jeezus.
  19. Not sure I've said it's black and white? Everyone keeps saying its the defence, its Martinez, its this, its that whilst completely ignoring a lot of what has actually gone on.
  20. Listen to it back you can hear him call for it. Stones and Distin leave it for him because he shouts for them to do so. Really poor decision making and only one person to blame.
  21. Full of energy and he has a bit of quality about him. I still think he should have been coming off from the bench more regularly when we have been leggy and looking to close games out.
  22. Garbutt and Besic for me too. Alcaraz third.
  23. I dont think I am. We did play some great stuff at times but when things got serious we went into our shell. We defended, and we looked for a point and built our game plan on that. Ok we havent scored today but we have scored plenty of goals this season and that doesnt come from 1 dimensional football. There does need to be balance, I completely agree and we havent got that right, but yet again, I will add that we havent conceded many chances on the counter. Its not like we have been caught out attacking (Chelsea aside), we have been back in a defensive shape and the mistakes have kicked in. Its not as black and white as some of you want to make out.
  24. I dont think Martinez' comments are that far off from what I saw of the 2nd half. They didnt really threaten at all, made the most of Distin's mistake and then scored against tired legs while we were pressing for a goal. We didnt create much but Lukaku should have scored and the way that move came was through excellent work from McCarthy. We created a couple of half chances when Osman came on which were worked quite nicely but they defended well.
