  2. I'd like us playing like this. - - - - - - - Howard - - - - - - - Coleman - Jags - Heitinga - Baines - - - - - Felli - Arteta - - - - - Anichebe - Rodders - Pienaar - - - - - - - Saha - - - - - - - - With Bily on the bench, being able to come in for Arteta/Rodders/Pienaar.
  3. It was about 48.5 million pounds (http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/financial-results-announced.html) two years ago, so it'll probably be somewhere in that region again.
  4. I'm not saying we should be looking for a new owner. I'm just questioning whether the club is run as professionally as it should be in all departments, whether there isn't more money to be made with merchandising, sponsorship deals... And about Coleman being pushed up on the right, that might be an option. But as with playing Osman, Bily or Anichebe there, you're pulling someone out of his natural position. I'm not saying they can't do a job there, but I for one would really prefer someone that feels perfectly comfortable playing in that position.
  5. It sure got them a head of us last year. And with us signing Jermaine Beckford, Magaye Gueye and Joao Silva and with them signing Touré, Silva, Boateng, Kolarov (?) and who knows who's to follow, I can't see how that's gonna change. I think we at least need left back cover and a top class player that can play out on the right because I don't see who is gonna be playing there this season: Osman? Bily? Anichebe? Now I understand that maybe it's not gonna be possible to splash let's say £10 million on a right winger if we want to sign our best players on long-term contracts too. I think the most important question here is, how come the club is in this financial situation? Is it because of lacking turnover from gate receipts (which would have course improve drastically if we would move to another stadium), is it because of to small revenues from merchandising or bad public relations towards possible sponsors?
  6. Bily lacks pace to be a classy winger. If he can play higher up the pitch, for exemple supporting the striker, that left foot of his will be a lot more dangerous. A right winger (preferably Donovan) needs to be added to the squad and a back-up for Baines, and I think we'll be pushing top 4 then.
  7. Most Feyenoord-fans don't have a lot of confidence in next season. The club have one striker, and he's 17 years old. So I doubt Feyenoord 'll sell one of their best players and fan favourites for only 4 million pounds. On a positive note, Feyenoord are in a lot of financial worries so maybe they'll be forced to accept it.
  8. Don't think Feyenoord will want to sell Fer. Unless they want a fan uproar.
  9. I thought it were just rumours made up by the tabloids, just randomly linking every good player to City. But the above two posts sound worrying. Hopefully not another Lescott-saga, tearing down the peace in the team leading to a 1-6 opening defeat.
  10. I believe Kuranyi already signed with Dinamo Moscow and Metzelder did with Schalke.
  11. Hull: Steven Mouyokolo and Tom Cairney Burnley: Steven Fletcher, Chris Eagles and Danny Fox (could be an ideal back up for Baines) Portsmouth: Jamie O'Hara, Nadir Belhadj, Kevin-Prince Boateng

Fantastic dribble by Pienaar through the middle, but I couldn't see whether he deserved a penalty or not due to the bad quality of my live stream.

Nice shot by Bily. Hit the post.
  14. I'm afraid he's a bit expensive to be cover. Plus, what's gonna happen with Bily when N'Zogbia comes? We paid quite a lot of money for him to. Don't see this happening.
  15. Is there a discussion to have? I think it's pretty clear to most people. (And according to La Meuse, the Germans paid 4.5 million euros) I'd say that is one of strangest reasonings I've heard. Standard didn't pay anything to Anderlecht as he belonged to Congolese club Mazembe. They paid them 1.2 million for him so according to you 2.4 million now is a fair price... Anyway I think it's better we agree to disagree.
  16. I'm sorry. You didn't. Holystove said so. That's what you would say if you didn't watch Standard games and would just look at his stats. But there's a lot more to him than just goals.
  17. I can understand that. But saying Mbokani is worth about 4 million is just ridiculous. By the way, by some strange coincidence Igor De Camargo has just signed a deal with Borussia Mönchengladbach. Standard reportedly gets 4 million. I'd say Mbokani is twice the player he is and thus would be worth more than 4 million.
  18. I guess the two of you are probably the 2 lone people in Belgium that think Mbokani is worth about 4 million. You can get Igor De Camargo for 4 million. His bad season this year is mostly due to the fact that there wasn't any link up play this season. He just had to chase long balls all season. In the games Mbokani couldn't play, you could see clearly that he is the most important player in our team, even when he isn't motivated, which is probably the second reason of his underperforming this season. Mbokani just is too big for Belgium. He got the chance last season to show Europe what he is really capable of and he did fantastic against Liverpool, Sevilla... People were even talking of 15 to 20 million after last season. He was promised by the board he would get his transfer, but he didn't. Even though Stuttgart offered about 12 million. I understand completely that he isn't motivated fully for another anonymous game against Lokeren. I think this year he showed again (in the games against Arsenal, Olympiakos, Panathinaikos, Hamburg) that he's ready for a next step in his career.
  19. Accepting a 4 million offer for Mbokani would be the dumbest thing Standard could do. For that amount of money you'll never find another striker that even comes close to Mbokani's qualities. He's been linked with Marseille, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, Hamburg and Juventus among others in the past so he obviously isn't as bad as you seem to think. His manager Fabio Baglio said today that Standard are looking for about 10 million € which seems a fair price to me.
  20. Yakubu! What a change by Davey!
  21. Ridiculous yellow card for Distin.
  22. What a shot by Nzonzi
  23. What a shot by Baines.
