Do we know a position? You get the impression that with all the kids we have on our books, we're looking at a serious transition period over the next year or two where, we're going to have a pretty youthful first team.
I'm not suggetsing he'll be a first teamer in the future, or likely to be on the fringes soon but its worth noting that we've bought in a considerable amount of young players in the last couple of years.
It's Not brilliant is it, but looking on the brighter side of things you never know we might just unearth a gem.

Agree with MikeO. Gone for Drenthe. Would have been Felliani if it wasnt for his 3-4 misses, but he still had a good game.
You could see how frustrated he was getting!
-
Looks like Everton are playing a 4-3-3 in attack and 4-5-1 in defence. Something ive talked about before. Hope Drenthe and Guyue are the guys to handle that as it is really hard work. They might switch back to normal at half time
Ive always thought that would work well and so far it has. Not to forget that Blackpool dont have the best defence in the world but Im impressed so far.
-
Does anyone else always seem to forget Gibson is playing?
-
STRAQ, right place right time!
-
A sellout and all I can hear is the Blackpool fans...
-
Mostly Jags fans who don't want Johnny to take his place
Jags and Distin in both CB roles, thats our best combo. Distin and Jags work well together and I think theyre both top class CBs, I like Heitinga but we should play him next season when Distin is getting too old (IF he starts to deteriorate next season that is, I think he just gets better and better though).

Just seen the 32 point gap between straq and saha and chuckled to myself. I still baffles me that Moyes used to start him every game rather than the Count!
-
no complaints of no barkley today...wasn't the game for him
Why not, I dont think it would have made a big difference to the game if we gave him 5-10 minutes of playing time? I'd start the lad ahead of Cahill at this current moment I think he could bring more to the squad. In an Ideal world Rodwell/Osman is better than Gibson, Barkley is better than Cahill, Hibbo is better than Neville. Just something to think about for Moyes when he was an injury free squad (if he ever gets one...)

Stop gloating!

COYB!!!!
Baines - brilliant again
Fellaini - A rock in DM again
Stra - A work horse again
Pienaar - welcome back you were MOM for me
Donovan - Another assist (MOYESY SIGN HIM UP!)

Fair point, but I'm trying to be optimistic rather than complacent. Defence is the best form of attack and all that. Moyes is bringing on defenders and letting them come onto us, even though Chelsea have been pretty poor,
I suppose we do neet a bit of optimism! I don't think its a case of Chelsea being poor (but they have) but more that we've played with determination and spirit. Now lets do it against Blackpool (please... please)
-
Surely, now that the team is playing much better and we must win this one, he really MUST bring on Barkley.
remember last year when we scored 2 in ET against united?... Chelsea could still get something out of this game mate lets not get complacent.
-
briliant tackle. This ref has had an okay game but edgy at times.
-
Get Barkley and Vellios on for Cahll and Straq or Donovan
-
Go on Cole F*** off! our Baines for England!
-
Neville get's a 20% discount on any negative comments for the next week just for that tackle
-
Lets get a 3rd and show this Chelsea side how to play football.

Overall a good half IMO for Everton. A little bit sloppy in place but nowhere near as sloppy as out opposition. Would like to see more from Tim Cahill in the second half and also for Neville to shape up. Straq is working hard as ever but is handing over possession a little bit too much. Pienaar is the best man on the field, followed my mata and Baines.
-
seriously?
i'd have torres in a second
In a realistic world we wouldn't be able to afford his transfer fee or his wages, but in the case that we would, I wouldnt take the risk. He's lacking in confidence and Everton isn't the place to be for a struggling striker. Plus he's an ex Kopite and I dont do that.
-
Is Pienaar our new playmaker...?!
-
He is low on morale isn't he. I wonder if we can pick him up on the cheap at the end of the season? Moyes would have him firing on all cylinders again I am sure.
No thanks.

God, Neville is getting old.

Its nice to see leighton bother having a hair cut!

I'm very annoyed that Pienaar went up in rating when he want to tottenham last year and now hes moved back to everton hes lost 3 points. Would someone like to tell me how a player gets worse if he moves club? Its nonsense. Jelavic is terrible on the game (76 - but shite), Straq even worse (69), Fellaini is rated 79 but if he was at chelsea he would be rated 85+. Its bias and stupid IMO and due to the poor work from EA on the game this year I think my next purchase for a football game will be PES.
