  1. Well in all seriousness I hold Moyes fully accountable for Billy, between Yak and Bily moyes has netted a tidy £18m loss. Sadly as is the case with Yak, you wonder if it was the way Moyes utilised them...

Theres only so bad a player can look if they are utilised wrong. IMO if Bily was played through the centre he would have been a little bit better for us but I still think he was too slow for the way we play our football over here. He didnt seem to be technical enough at all and I dont think he has that natural footballing brain.

A very good article - some really good points made. particularly this one:

Of all the managers in the Premier League, Moyes probably has the easiest ride – he’s protected by the mitigating circumstances of financial doom.

Bad result? We’ve got no money. Good result? Miracle worker. A proper, old-fashioned no-lose situation.

Read the article a couple of hours ago and thought it was stunning. Im not sure if I agree with 100% of it but if the season continues like this then I undoubtedly will.

As for Barkely I would'nt mind if he got thrown in this season too. At least it would give us something to be excited about because thus far in my life this is the crappest ive ever felt towards Everton, its just boring football.

    1) We have Barkley, he can be a play maker.

    2) Agree 100%.

    3) Again, agree 100%. I'd rather see a hungry kid play than an aging has been who doesn't have it in his locker anymore.

I really can't see a buyer coming anytime soon.

Barkley is'nt ready yet though, although when he is he will be fantastic I have every faith in him.

And as for the takeover, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed that it is soon. (but tbh I cant see it coming soon either I was just trying to be positive dont%20know.gif )

  4. Thanks for taking the time to post this mate its a really good article.

Personally I believe that we would stand a good chance of fighting toward Europa League football if we made 3 changes to our squad.

    1) We need to buy a playmaker (I know there is money issues etc). Fellaini is an anchorman, Osman (although one of my favorite players in the squad) just is'nt good enough and Gibson I dont think can live up to it.

    2) We need a natural goalscorer. Now I know that Beckford isn't exsactly Wayne Rooney standard but he was scoring a few goals for us. He was the best finisher we had in the squad last year and would be our number one striker this season if we would have kept on to him (unless Yakubu would have picked up form). Its very hard to find a proven goalscorer at a decent level for little money.

    3) The club needs to introduce more youth into the squad. As you said tanaciousj, the squad isnt getting any younger. Neville celebrated his 600th birthday against Blackburn - which makes me scared because he's one of a handful who are starting to get on. I think the most obvious introductions to the squad should be Barkley, Vellios, Gueye and Duffy. Barkley for obvious reasons, Vellios would be a pacey strikers perfect partner if we played two up top, Gueye I think will come on to be a great player - just give him time and Duffy, well, I dont need to go into that hes been absolutely brill, my hat goes off to the lad.

Its not all doom and gloom lads I'm sure a buyer is just around the corner for us.

  5. Today we were as inconsistent as ever. There is usually a "turning point" in our season towards the second half. I keep thinking in my head "the turning point will be soon, dont worry", but it just dosnt seem to be happening.

I know people are going to tell me that what I am about to mention is a big risk and could drop us vital points but I think Moyes should b**ll*ck the first team for underperforming and threaten there places, chuck out a team that is half youth, give a couple of players their starting debut. Its drastic, but our squad is lacking motivation and determination - and that youthful fight that you can only find in young, coming up players might just help us get back on track.

  6. Totally agree with JP. We got McFadden for nothing who is a proven goalscorer at both club and country level, I can't seem to understand how Bill (and others) can come to the conclusion that he is 'fookin useless' given what he has done over the years for this club. If we would have spent big money on James then I could fully understand how people would be getting angry but I do believe that some people like to moan for moanings sake and this is what's happening here (pretty similar to the signing of Darron Gibson), he's a decent player that people are moaning about just for moanings sake.

Sometimes I wonder if we signed Lionel Messi people would send hate-mail to David Moyes because he isn't tall enough for our style of play.

    ^How useless James McFadden is.

Youtube takes the best moments of a players career and complies them. If it took the worst moments he would look useless, so that dosnt really prove anything.

Personally I think Moyes needed reinforcments and faddy fit the bill.

  7. This needs to go in the jokes thread or fun and games then or is there a nonsense one?

There is no actual substance or fact, so quite pointless really... then someone actually suggests 3 very good players and they're challenged for their suggestions... nonsense.

Why would you waste your time typing that out? If you have nothing positive to say on the thread then dont reply at all. When you read it and think "thats BS" just keep your opinions to yourself. I wouldnt mind, but its really not a thread in which people can agree or disagree with the subject, like I said its just a bit of fun. Bloody irgnorant bitter %$£*!!

  8. £58m or whatever isn't alot of money when you are talking about replacing 4 players from an already depleted squad - I don't mean to be rude but it's a BIT FOOTBALL MANAGER 2008.

£5m for Cahill? We wouldn't get £1.5m for him, £6m for Bily only if russians come in for him.

Just to put things into perspective, Liverpool spent £75m on 3 players -

we already have a CEO who uses transfer funds in as a means of supplementing new contracts, fallen attendances, loo rolls for finch farm - it's all pie in the sky this.

We need 4 more players as it is, so £58m less the £20m to the bank = average signing of £4m, you can't even buy half proven championship players for that, Jordan Rhodes,

    WE NEED A BUYER

I'll try this once more lads. ITS JUST A BIT OF FUN! ... stop taking it seriously thats not why I posted this topic. Its just basically saying "who would you have if we had a little bit of money". In no way is this a serious article. I dont know how much simpler i could put this.

  9. Danny Welbeck. Rasmus Elm and Arshavin. Sign Drenthe.

Your estimates seem off tho. No way we would get 25 mil for Barkley.

And if we did raise 58 mil it seems more likely that 40-45 would go towards clearing up the debt. Making Everton more attractive to investors.

I really dont want to lose Barkley. Would agree to sell the other 3 at these sums

My valuations are imaginative, like I said its a game. I hope we do get £25m for Barkely if he leaves, I'd snatch their hand off for it!
