  1. Anyway....back to transfers. I'm pleased that we are adding these potential 'stars' to our team. I think we all know that's the market we deal in. We have good recent history of plucking out some gooduns. And I believe Bobby is going to implement a great footballing culture through the club. I am also sure we will add that goal scoring striker to the team. We don't all agree on much, but I think we all agree that we have been missing a 'figure head' striker for years.
  2. I used a lot of soft tissues as a teenager. Wink wink honk honk.
  3. Because it can take days before fully realising how long? Usually the manager is answering straight after a game or the next day. Soft tissue is quite a broad term...muscle, ligament, tendon. Most footy injuries are soft tissue. Basically he's saying 'worry not, he ain't broke his leg....'
  4. I don't think they've had no impact, I just don't think they are the cause of the problem. Mahooosive difference (read what I said about culture and kids football). But as above, leave it at that. Coooooooooome on Henen (whoever you are!)
  5. But, anyway, let's not hijack another thread with another Newty vs Cotto Bitch fest. Not because I like you or agree with you (bit harsh that I know) or anything, but because it probably ruins the thread/forum for other people.
  6. Right. So 90 and 96 prove that we weren't pretty crap before Johnny foreigner arrived? Tell me what happened at USA 94? Your kind of missing my point a little. Or maybe I should have said 'history shows that before the foreign influx we were neither better nor worse off than we are now'. Your talking about 'of late', I'm talking about 'full stop'. We've just never been that good. Actually in 96 we had our lowest ever FIFA ranking (27th). In 2012 we had our highest ever(3rd). That's deliberately not a very good argument from me, because neither is 90 and 96.
  7. What's bollocks? And what's your point about 90 and 96?
  8. On the Martinez second season stuff...don't forget Moyes yo - yo'd positions too. It wasn't always high and flying. I don't think we'll drop away this season, but it wouldn't surprise me if we dropped 1 or 2 places, nor would it surprise me if we climbed a place. We are firmly in that bracket. Transfer wise... I also hope it isn't just 3 in as that isn't enough. Unless he sees more in these youngsters than we do (surely not possible?!)
  9. Be fuckin fuming. I'm not thinking along these lines at all at the moment. BUT IF that were the case...be hell on. A lot of questions. Hmmmmmm.
  10. Hope this kid does well. We all like a kid to turn into a goodun. In terms of the foreign influx ruining our national team and home grown talent. That's bullshit for me. On a par with the lazy man who argues 'the foreigners take our jobs'...but then turns down jobs because he 'is above that'. Anyway, just bare with me, the reason I think it's bull is that the foreign influx only really got into full swing from the mid to late 90's (was this due to a change in squad quota rules or something?). Before then, as a national team, we were still pretty crap. In fact, when it comes to football, we live to much by the mantra of 'we found this game, we must be the best'. We did nothing to progress our game for donkeys years. In the late 90's, it was the french model we needed to copy. Then it was the Spanish model. Now it is the German model? It doesn't matter which model we copy, we are still English. And that's the problem. It's a cultural thing. We just don't get the game. Well that's one of the problems for youth....then you have funding cuts, less pitches, increase costs for parents, dropping numbers, less teams, crap facilities, less coaches, too much red tape.....
  11. Sturridge will do well though. But not as well as Suarez.
  12. It's not about them doing 'well' but doing 'as well'.
  13. Probably aimed at the fact that 48 hours seems to be the Everton time line at the moment? Or apparently so!
  14. Get in there! Come on boys, all together now... I'm Everton till i die...Everton till i die...I know I am, I'm sure I am...Everton till I die! Wonder if that's who sorted the socks out? Oh, any good up front too?!!!
  15. My thoughts too. A massive miss for them. How many goals, either directly or assisting, was he responsible for last season? He was dynamic. He played like he was told he could go after one more big season. Like Fergie did with Ronaldo. Them fuckers are being daft if they think they'll do the same this season without him.
  16. Pah. What's another 48 hours?!
  17. You'd be surprised how many players play with cortisone injections for injuries. It's no wonder they are so crocked by the time they retire.
  18. Seriously? Get in there Romey lad...problem solved! I'm Everton till I die, Everton till I die...I know I am, I'm sure I am, Everton till I die!!!
  19. Haha...It was me who wrote it in one of my many 'keyboard warrior' run ins with Cotto. Makes me laugh when I think back to some of the ranting in here!!! Great entertainment...but not at the time.
  20. I don't think progress can be measured purely by cups and league titles, if we are honest. Portsmouth won the FA Cup, where did they end up? Wigan won the FA Cup, where did they end up? I'm not sure about this progress argument really. And as I said earlier, it's been done to death in another thread.
  21. Who is he by the way? What position? Can he play up front? That's all that matters. If he can, he ticks all the boxes.
  22. Hey...We've signed Sam Byrne from Utd! Why didn't anyone rave about this? He's from Utd....must be good...be worth 30 mill next year.
