Josh Berno
Just heard it on Setanta Sports news didnt get much of the story so i looked it up on google and this looks serious. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...tna/7291519.stm TBH i dont think any club should go into administration (except Liverpool) and its sad when you see these small clubs who dissappear and these clubs havnt got any rich people who can step in and save the club. I think the league should give them money to stay adrift for the time being. I was wondering if Gretna are in the SPL then why are they going into administration when all the other clubs below the SPL seem fine? StevO
because they got to the SPL out of their owners wallet, now hes running short and they are paying big rent on a stadium they ionly have about 3000 fans
Romey 1878
I've got a soft spot for Gretna so I'm pretty sad about this. They're probably going into non-existence soon too unless they raise £30,000 to arrive at their next game. That's not even the weekly wage of some very average players, sad. Bill
Gretna had a meteoric rise through the leagues funded by ............. forgot his name, but he has fallen into ill health and his family no longer wish to spend any more of their inheritance on feeding a dead horse. Thats what happens when the goose that lays the golden egg goes missing. Think the SPL have advanced GRETNA the money that they would have recieved at the end of season, which will enable them to continue for the time being and fulfill their fixtures. Not sure whats going to happen next season as regards can they carry on or not. ??
