Raccyboy
2034: GOAL France 1-0 England Nicolas Anelka breaks into the area and takes the ball past David James before he is clattered by the England keeper. Clear penalty. Franck Ribery sends James the wrong way. Ribery takes off his shirt to reveal a tribute to commentator Thierry Gilardi - who died yesterday - and is promptly booked by the ref. you have got to be fucking kidding!!!!!!!!! "rules are rules", blah, blah, blah...... then change the fucking rules! rant over
Blue 250
A yellow card for the removing of shirts does seem a bit harsh! I myself would like to see this goal celebration work it's way more into womens football....with infact a yellow card for any lady who on scoring.....doesn't remove said shirt! Seriously though, when did this shirt off thing start?.........shouldn't a goalkeeper remove his shirt on saving a penalty?........Would that look stupid

Bill
If memory serves me right, wasnt Cahill one of the first to get a yellow after scoring. Before the corner flag sparring celebration came into play. ??
thebluenose
yeh his first goal v city in 2004 cahill got a second yellow after taking off his shirt. it is a ridiculous rule and should be stopped just because its pointless. what possible harm is there in taking your shirt off. another rule which should be scrapped is the 'you must go off the pitch and come back on again when recieving treatment' rule. what is the point
