Yakubu Not great by a long long way but my heart says 2-0 and head says 0-0. The yak and ossie to score.

MikeO
Jack Rodwell is given his first Premier League start for Everton in today's opening game of the new campaign. He is the only teenager from the crop who have impressed in pre-season to make the XI to face Blackburn Rovers, with David Moyes fielding all his fit senior players. That means places in the side for Leighton Baines and Nuno Valente, with Yakubu the only striker as the Blues revert to the 4-5-1 formation that served them so well for so much of last term. Phil Neville, Joseph Yobo, Joleon Lescott and Baines are expected to take the defensive slots, with Valente potentially employed wide on the left of midfield and Rodwell combining with Phil Jagiekla in the heart of midfield. Sixteen-year-olds Jose Baxter and James Wallace are named on a bench that is entirely made up of teenagers, with the exception of goalkeeper Iain Turner. 24 Howard 18 Neville 04 Yobo 05 Lescott 19 Nuno Valente 10 Arteta 26 Rodwell 06 Jagielka 03 Baines 21 Osman 22 Yakubu Substitutes 12 Turner, 27 Jutkiewicz, 32 Gosling, 35 Agard, 36 Kissock, 37 Baxter, 38 Wallace

Adam
Just goes to show how could our young ranks are if the bench is made up completely of them except the goalkeeper and keeping out the new signings!!!!! Shows how bad it is and when you think we missing only 6 from injury and olomp[ic call ups (including VDM) its a very worrying site

Jimmy the blue
http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=...amp;part=sports shit, its been coming, we seem all at sea lads a poor Blackburn side are running rings round our midfield. This display indicates that more goals will be let in and we have no one to bring on, the crowd noise mimics my concerns. ! - 0 to BR Edited August 16, 2008 by Jimmy the blue
JohnDTraynor
So, in midfield, there's a 17-year-old debutant, a left back and a central defender, and the knock on effect of this is that the third-choice left-back is playing at left-back. And the bench is full of youngsters who, suddenly, all at the same time, are good enough for the first team.
