Blutoffee Posted August 9, 2008 Report Share Posted August 9, 2008 Hi All I'm a life long blue and new to the forum. The first match I saw at Goodison was in 1977/8, in the Bullens with my mum. A 6-0 win over Chelsea (how times have changed) when Bob Latchford got his 30th goal. At the time, I thought all matches were going to be like that one!! My favourite game was in 1985, the 3-1 win over Bayern Munich. I was in Gladwys St with a mate, drunk on the euphoria of that season. I dont get to the match as often now (4ish a year + a couple of local away games) but watch the highlights on EvertonTV. Latchford (or the club?) got £10,000 from Express newspapers as the first player in years to score thirty in a season. It was put up as an incentive for more attacking play.....funny thing is that if the Latch was playing today he'd earn at least that every day in his pay packet.....times have changed. Nothing on the net and, more tellingly, nothing of it on the official history DVD as far as I can see....you'd have thought if they had it on film it would be on there.....shame.
