holystove
I was just wondering how many of you were planning on voting? (and for which party? ) And what is the regular turnout for European Elections in the UK? In Belgium voting is mandatory so voter turnout isn't really a measure of how much influence people perceive the EU to have on their lives. jamiemaher85
Its hard to chose really. I usally vote Labour but its very hard to feel anything but apathy towards the whole political system at the moment. Everyone seems to stand for the same things, and I don't feel that they satnd for anything I want to vote for. Its a real shame tbh.

Always vote.....hmmm, could go into long political rant but decides against it . Won't vote for either of the main parties (and never have) so I'm left with a choice of about another fifteen ( ), from the BNP to Socialist Labour, from xenophobes to independence for Cornwall to "Fair Pay Fair Trade Import Only Fair Pay Products." Possibly vote Green, I have before, or maybe Libdem, or maybe the Pensioner party (get them into power for when I need them ). What's the penalty for not voting holy? The penalty ranges from 25 to 50 euros for first time offenders (to be decided by the judge in front of which you appear) .. if you don't vote twice it's 50 to 125 euros .. and if you don't vote 4 times in 15 years you get struck from the register meaning you basicly can't get a job as a civil servant. But just like you I'd never imagine not voting, I live in such a small village it only takes about 10 minutes anyway . I read on the BBC website that the European elections in the UK are on thursday? Is this always on a weekday? Do you have to take a day off if you want to vote ?
Louis
Voting booths open at 7am and close late at night so you just go before or after work.

Scottish Red
Definitely not Labour. Definitely not the Lib Dems. And as for the Tories, not if hell froze over. It's really tough atm. SNP get my support but they've hardly been angels. I don't trust Alex Salmond.

holystove
voter turnout throughout EU : 43% ... kind of disappointing. voter turnout in Slovakia : 19% ... Atrocious... welcome to the EU fellas, here's yer money... Never mind the results of the vote, those percentages alone are enough to make you depressed.
