Louis Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 Pienaar talks about apartheid and football http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00spgzf/Inside_Sport_South_Africa_in_Black_and_White/ Quote
MikeO Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 Essential viewing, certainly if you're under 30/35 and don't know the history too well. It's a well put together 30 mins and made me proud to have Pienaar at our club (I'd be prouder if he signed a 'king contract ). Quote
StevO Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 great watch, got two black friends from durban, they told me all about this. horrible horrible situation to live in Quote
Louis Posted June 9, 2010 Author Report Posted June 9, 2010 I can't watch iPlayer, is it worth trying to download? Quote
MikeO Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 I can't watch iPlayer, is it worth trying to download? Certainly if you want to see a potted history of apartheid with particular reference to the role the sporting boycott (or non-boycott in some instances) played in it. Not if you want to see a programme about Pienaar because he's only in it for a minute or two in total. Quote
Ten Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Did anyone watch Piers Morgan in South Africa? He covered a fair bit on the apartied and its impact it had on sport (Madella and the springboks etc). Was good. Quote
MikeO Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Did anyone watch Piers M... Stopped there....the answer is no whatever the rest says . Quote
