I don't get why that makes sense. Why would he not want to play internationally because he isn't playing here? I understand why that might lead to him not being selected, but why would he retire? He was once considered to be a good prospect in Portugal, Braga seemed to have high hopes for him at one point but just kept loaning him out until they sold him to Cluj. As far as I remember he did well in his loan experiences in the top flight. No idea how he's getting on at Cluj, but he's probably doing well since they were in the CL and we're interested in him. I wouldn't think he's good enough to become our number one really but hey he's still young for a goalkeeper and people have definitely seen something in him in the past as well.
