Corruption within our game ?

Once again today, we see evidence of blatant foul play go unnoticed, both preventing Mansfield goals with arms and scoring Liverpool goals with arms.

 

We can look at our own issues with refs this season, and seasons gone, and this season is simply taking the piss.

 

Is it not time our governing bodies were held to question regarding the high possibility that our match officials are corrupt?

No one is on the take, the match officials need to check what's between their legs as it's sure as hell ain't a pair of balls. If a ref or linesman honestly does not see an incident then fine, it's just that the majority of the time they bloody well do and favour the bigger glamour clubs, which in itself is probably cheating. I really think that integrity is all but dead.

Not corruption; it's ineptitude and (as jona said) lack of bollocks to make hard decisions against the big boys.

Probably not the best response to avoid ill feeling, but nobody is perfect.

If they weren't corrupt, we'd have had technology in the game a long time ago in my opinion.

No I don't think they're corrupt, just been damn incompetent for as long as anyone can remember.

 

As someone once said - The EPL is the most honest league in the world, we don't cheat in this country. But that's more focused at playing individuals than match officials, but still worth a mention, as someone questioned the integrity of soccer in this country.

 

Referees are under a lot of pressure on any given match day. They'll invariably be the center of attention and it must be damn difficult for them out there sometimes, but the standard of performance has been poor this season from most areas you can't help but notice.
