Oztoffee Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 With so many names being bandied around now, who would your best team be with all 11 costing less than 10 mill. each? No matter if they are under contract or whatever, just pick a team! Quote
Makis Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Where do we find the prices for each player that the selling clubs would accept? Quote

Matt Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 I'd propose the prices used here: http://www.transfermarkt.com/ Quote
Makis Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 I know of those, but they are widely off mark. Let's just look at some of the prices for Everton players. Would you sell at these? James McCarthy. 17 million. Ross Barkley. 16 million. John Stones. 10 million. Muhamed Besic. 5 million. Bryan Oviedo. 3.5 million. If these sound ridiculous there are probably plenty of ridiculous prices for players from other teams as well. Quote

I wouldn't sell at those prices but realistically, they're probably quite accurate (bar Stone's). Quote
Matt Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 I wouldn't sell at those prices but realistically, they're probably quite accurate (bar Stone's). Exactly. To be honest, it was more so we had a benchmark, even if the figures are sometimes bizarre. Plus, what we would sell them for isn't really relevant anyway. Quote

Makis Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 (edited) Here are some players I quickly checked. I find most of these a bit ridiculous. GK Stefan Ruffiert (Saint Etienne) 10m (best keeper in the French league and not too old yet) Jasper Cillessen (Ajax) 9m (best Dutch keeper) Kiko Casilla (Espanyol) 7.5m (could have joined RM a while ago but declined) CB Kurt Zouma (Chelsea) 10m John Stones (Everton) 10m RB Serge Aurier (PSG) 10m Martin Montoya (Barcelona) 10m LB Ryan Bertrand (Southampton) 10m CM Jordy Clasie (Feyenoord) 8m Denis Glushakov (Spartak Moscow) 8m Fabien Delph (Aston Villa) 8m Jordan Veretout (Nantes) 8m Shinji Kagawa 10m RW Kevin Kampl (Borussia Dortmund) 10m Joel Campbell (Villareal) 6m Quincy Promes (Spartak Moscow) 9.5m LW Paul-Georges Ntep (Rennais) 10m Denis Cherysov (Villareal) 10m Maxime Lestienne (Genoa) 9m Rafa Silva (Braga) 7.5m ATT Islam Slimani (Porto) 10m Chicarito (Real Madrid) 10m Charlie Austin (QPR) 9m Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (Schalke) 10m Anthony Martial (Monaco) 8m Josip Drmic (Bayer Leverkusen) 8m So, does someone think this team could be had for about 100 million? Ruffiert Aurier - Stones - Zouma - Bertrand Kampl - Delph - Veretout - Ntep Kagawa Martial And anyone who thinks 16 million is the going price for Ross Barkley has no clue. About 19 clubs in the PL would buy him at that price. Edited June 15, 2015 by Makis Quote

Just remember that they don't take 'Englishness' or Rose Tinted glasses into consideration, when valuing a player. Sideliner 1 Quote
Ten Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 (edited) Karius Trippier – Stones – Romagnoli/Rekik – Garbutt Ruben Neves Barkley – Goretzka Deulofeu – Lukaku – Martial Edited June 15, 2015 by tenaciousj Quote
Makis Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 I fixed a few of those, check out my edited mail. If we really could get Ruffiert for 10 million he could be #1 keeper well until 2020's. Do you think Chelsea would sell Zouma for 10 million? Southampton Bertrand for that? Delph for 8 million? Austin for 9? If Martial really is available for 8 million or Ntep for 10 Martinez should buy them ASAP. Quote

Zouma is potential worth £20m for Chelsea, so wouldn't sell him at half the price they think he's worth, when compared to other players of that caliber, who may have more experience and playing time under their belt, could have gone for less. Some on here can tell you my regrets of Everton not buying Zouma, he'd be PERFECT for Everton (and Stones). You could get Austin for less than 9, I reckon. Delph is worth £20m to Villa, whereas in reality, £8m is probably his value. Good player, experienced, relatively young but not a World Class player and not an 'exciting' prospect. It also works the other way. Sami Khedira's worth is £17/18m, but due to his lack of contract, has gone to Juve for nothing. He'll now be 'worth' £25m to Juve. If we could get players for their values, rather than their respective clubs 'worth', we could build an incredible squad. Edited June 15, 2015 by tenaciousj Quote
Makis Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Yes, that's the thing. That's one reason those prices are all over the place. Another reason is that they might not be updated too often, for a young player an entire season without updates could distort this a lot. Quote
Ten Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Yeah, that's a fair theory. My team ^^^ could win the league in 3 years. Quote
