johnh Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 According to the paper today, Britain is the most tornado-struck country, for its size, in the world. Apparently, the epicentre is Berkshire. Having said that, I have lived in Berkshire for 40 years and never seen one - yet! Quote

Having said that, I have lived in Berkshire for 40 years and never seen one - yet! So statistically you're due one, better dig yourself a storm cellar! Seriously though we only have tiddlers most of the time, very rare there's any real damage done so hardly on a par with the monsters they get in the US. Along similar lines I experienced an earthquake "cluster" in Greece ten years ago, the biggest (and first) being a 5.6; a really incredible experience and one I'm glad I had, though obviously I wouldn't wish the consequences of the big ones on anyone. markjazzbassist Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 as a child a tornado went down my street, tore the roof's off a few houses (2 houses next door), but nothing happened to us or our home. we all slept through it!!! granted there were train tracks behind our house to i'm sure the noise was familiar to us.
