MikeO
Heard four words in the same sentence today that I never thought I would. They were... "Marcus," "Bent", "Hat" and "Trick." Nice one .

Josh Berno
I went to that game cheering on the al Wigan. I was made up for him when he got that hatrick. Considering Wigan have a small capacity they have great fans. I was trying to join in the chants but some of them were mental. When they started singing "an its wigan latics" (I think thats what they were singing) I sed "an its Everton... oh shit" lucky no one heard me . Romey 1878
That's his first hat-trick for 7 years Why is a hat-trick called a hat-trick btw?
jamiemaher85
^^^ I think that it started with Cricket. If a bower made three wickets in an over they would be awarder a hat as a prize. Hence Hat-track. Its something like that anyway
TrueBlue
I heard a different story but still it had cricket in it. I heard that when a bowler got 3 in a over the guy was allowed to do take is hat off and collect money from the fans and players. But I suspect it was the ramblings of an old man  But either way it has to be 3 wickets in 3 balls Edited December 16, 2007 by TrueBlue
