Shock News From The Fc Sion Game

Recommended Posts

<_<

He's ridiculed when he doesn't play and when he does. How about giving a little bit of praise because he played 90 minutes and was one of our best players? If you dish the shit out when he deserves it then you should praise him when he deserves it too.

He won man of the match apparently - I've heard that he didn't much time off at all during the summer because he is wanting to play for the first team on a regular basis.

He also seemingly got over his fear of flying to get there in the first place.

I've always been hopeful that he'd turn it around.....long way to go still but there's a glimmer again (but there was at this time last year :) ).

If he makess more than five starts in the season you can delete the lot.

Hollow gesture Bill....it'll only take you a couple of days to get them all back again :lol: .

He flatters, only to deceive us every season.

I wont be surprised if before the season starts we will read that he has a groin, or thigh problem and wont be fit to play.

From Everton website report of game against FC Sion: "On 27 minutes, Andy van der Meyde squared the ball to.... " apparently.

He lasted 27 minutes!

Amazing.

Had to admit i thought that was amazing. Although to be fair to the lad, he does go running most nights (I live near him).

He also goes on the pop most nights!

Two words for Everton Worshiper if you read this post... FUCK OFF :) Your meant to back your players not tell them to fuck off! Stupid prick! Well done Andy (y)

When Moyes bought him he must have seen something in him otherwise he wouldn't have bought him. Moyes has kept him for a reason otherwise he would have relased, bought out his contract or sold him or sumthing. Theres still a glimmer of hope and i have faith in him. You never no if he turns out good theres one less player we have to replace :P

come on Josh, do you honestly think if Moyes had have received any interest in VDM that he wouldn't have sent him packing without a second thought? The problem is, no one wants VDM as he has been such a total disaster, so far, at Everton - anyone who may possibly be interested would also be thwarted by the fact that VDM doesn't want to leave due to family circumstances. I don't wish the guy any ill feeling but he's been a total joke, the Daily Post match report from Sion seemed to hint that he still didn't exactly set the world alight the other day either. I'm sure we'd all be delighted (and somewhat dumbfounded) if VDM set the world alight this season, but the sad truth is he probably won't even get a game.

That was a bad pre-season for Moyes, didn't he buy Kroldrup and Simon Davies (preceeded by Beattie) at the same time? at least that transfer session seemed to be a blip in his usually excellent transfer strategy!

But then again Carl everybody probably played shite so you can't go saying he didnt set the world alight when nobody on the everton team in that game probably did.

Clubs have been interseted in him I thought you would remember that as you were probably dancing on your computer chair... but look he hasnt left and theres fuck all you can do about it even if he doesn't get a game and even if he doesn't get a game hes an Everton player an were meant to support our players not jump on there back like a kopite!

If he makess more than five starts in the season you can delete the lot. Not counting sub appearances. :)

he's done his research, remember folks we'll be having 7 subs from this season onward in the league, or in our case 3 subs plus 4 youth team

Josh...when you come back to the real world you might be worthy of a conversation, until then heed your own advice Oh and yes I agree with you there, Shandy is a stupid prick, well said.

Great News for Andy. I don't see him beating out Arteta or Pienaar for that matter, but if he gets his head straight he could be a valuable sub, and part time starter. If Andy can spell Arteta and Pienaar and keep them fresh for the latter part of the season, I don't think we have such a big fall off towards the end of the year. Basically, if Andy is good to go, he deserves a shot. Come on Moyes! Work your magic!

I find it incredible that there are still some peeps out there who thinks he can play a part, the guy has made 35 appearances in five years most of them as a sub. Seven appearances a year for his previous club and i dont think he has even achieved that ratio since he came here.

Its probably down now to about 2 starts and 3 as a sub, he never made one single start last season and he has'nt played regular football for so long now that his body is incapable of achieving the fitness level needed for him to play.

Please lets have no more bullshit about him being like a new player if he gets fit cos its never going to happen.

Saw Fire's comment and immediately noticed a little Licker underneath, knew it wouldn't take long :lol: .

I'm saying no more....everyone has their thoughts on the man and mine are well recorded....although not as well as Bill's perhaps :P .

am not taking anything everton worshiper

u think nugent is quality soo hush now child :)

il back every single everton player to the hilt even if there is a glimour of hope. until andy van der meyde states he doesnt want to play for everton then i will not back him. he hasnt turned his back on us so why should we turn our backs on him?

He hasnt turned his back on us because we are paying him a hansom salary for doing nothing, if my job done that i wouldnt turn my back on them either! I appreciate your senitiment around if he was fit he would be one of our best players etc etc this maybe true based on his ability when we first signed him, however as stated 35 games in 5 years? no matches last season? surely this points out that you will have lost some of the ability you previously had no matter how early you came back to pre season. Given, he got MOTM the other day, against a poor team who beat us 1-0 which to me means we didnt play our best. I would love to be proved wrong as would licker i would imagine but i bet if you look back to the start of each season you would see similiar posts to this about shandy being fit is like a new player blah blah blah. Any how I for one wont be holding my breath on this one.

was once a very gifted player, if he would have managed to fullfil his potential he could have been great. only andy will know why this didnt happen, there plenty of rumour of why, booze, drugs, women, mental, whatever it was is a shame. i agree a fully fit van der mayde would be one of our better players, but i dont think we will manage to see it. hes got one year left to show something if he still wants to be a footballer this time next year

You all clearly don't realise what a great player Andy Van Der Meyde is. If he could sort his attitude problems out he'd be fucking quality.

You mean was mate, 6 years of non participation has taken its toll. When his contract is up here he will disappear into the Blue bermuda triangle never to be seen again. Cant even get 2nd division clubs to take him on loan. :D

He's not going to stage this amazing comeback. Lets not be all deranged here. The man has done nothing for a fortune and robbed us of a quality player ie his wages could have gone to someone else. The only reason we are talking about this is that he has realised he needs to play for another contract (not here!) and live the lavish lifestyle he's become acustommed too. Good luck to the club that signs him as he will suck there club fund dry. He was a great prospect but it never materialised and I will be happier when he's gone.

Well let's all not argue about Andy, I can see why people are angry because he has let himself down and the club. Andy is going to have to pull of some Rocky style comeback off if he wants to win over the majority of us fans. Yes, once upon a time Van der Meyde was a class act and probably does still possess some ability, the question though is fitness. The premiership is an unforgiving league which is based around fitness first then ability. If Van der Meyde gets fit this pre season he has to maintain it (which will be hard considering he is more injury prone than big Dunc), secondley he has to win over Davie Moyes, which is going to be a massive ask seeing that he has let him down time and time again.

I would love Van der Meyde to come good because he does have better technical ability than Arteta and Pienarr, but he obviously isn't as proffesional as the aforementioned players or as fit. Andy has made the come back speech every season so far and hasn't done it. Last chance saloon I think, its down to Andy to prove us all wrong. Lets not get wrapped up anymore in this debate, I don't think he will even complete pre-season.

I want to see him fit and playing for a couple of reasons.

a) If he proves the doubters wrong we could have a great player in the team.

B) If he proves the doubters right, at least he will be remembered and we may be able to offload him.

c) We are not exactly well catered for with players, and no matter how far he may have sunk, he is better on the pitch in blue than just having 9 players start a game.

OK ok I am pushing it a bit with the last point :D

Have a look at this....

By all accounts he tormented the full backs for 90 mins.

First up, he actually lasted 90 mins, and from the pictures we've seen hes lost the pounds.

...he's barely missed a day, training on his own if he had to, working with the injured lads, doing all he can to get fit.

ive gained a little respect back for him now, if hes tryin as hard as ive heard then im looking forward to seein him pay us back this season.

just thought id share that with you guys

Great, encouraging post....but the problem (which I hid) is that it's from almost exactly two years ago :) .

Deja vu maybe  .

Still hope he proves us all wrong though.

Mick Rathbone...

“Andy’s is a significant injury I’m afraid. He’s pulled his hamstring. It’s quite bad so we’ve sent him back to the training ground for a scan. It’s so disappointing for Andy, he’s trained so hard this pre-season and he was doing well.”
