Tonights Attendance

Recommended Posts

Tonights game could be the lowest ever attendance at GP for a european match.

1984-85 - European Cup Winners Cup 1st Round 2nd Leg

Our lowest European home gate was against University College Dublin on Tuesday 2 October 1984.It was 16,277.I hope we dont beat it tonight.

Its xmas time, its bloody freezing, its more drain on the wallet and a reserve team to boot. It will be hardly surprising if we get a low gate but I shall remain optimistic and plump for a 25,000+ gate ^_^

I reckon it'll be better than the low in '84 but be less than 20,000.....or maybe just squeek over it.

Wonder why the attendance was so small back then....it was very much a live game.

I was there that night. October 84 - the month of Sharp's goal at Anfield and the following week drubbing United 5-0 at home.
